DDT runs their final Tokyo signature event of 2025 today, RING FINALE 2025, which is a misleading title because it’s not the final event of the year. But it’s the last big one loaded with 3 title matches. First up, To-y defends the DDT Extreme Championship against Yasu Urano in a “Finish it now!! If you can’t do it now, To-y loses!!” match where a lottery is held every 2 minutes and, after that, the match can only be won by pinfall or submission using that specific technique picked from social media (except for ring outs and DQs). And it’s only 10 minutes plus if it goes the distance, Urano wins the title. The second title match is MAO & KANON defending the KO-D Tag Team Championship against the outside intruding team of Jun Masaoka & Gaia Hox. Finally, in the main event Yuki Ueno defends the KO-D Openweight Championship against Takeshi Masada (this is not a double title match).
Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese. Aya Shibata, a former member of SKE48 who is currently a freelance announcer, will be the special guest on commentary. There is a pre-show match scheduled before the event, and the Extreme rules may shorten the running time a bit, however I anticipate with the pre-show match it will have a total running time of about 3 hours.
