DDT held a post-WRESTLE PETER PAN presser today in Tokyo, which you can watch FOR FREE on YouTube. There was one noteworthy item coming from it-Takao Soma is leaving the promotion at the end of September, which was his decision in part to try things outside of wrestling. He will continue his career as a freelancer and will also step down as manager of the Dropkick sports bar.
Soma debuted in DDT in August 2009 and is a 3-time KO-D Tag Team Champion and 8-time KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champion. His last DDT event will be 9/27 at Shinjuku Face. He didn’t say much about his outside wrestling plans except “I have some thoughts on it, but it’s something I want to say after it happens.”
UPDATE: While DDT Extreme Champion Shunma Katsumata was also at the presser, they didn’t talk about his next challenger. But based on social media posts afterwards, it looks like next up will be O-MENZ Kumadori.
