Tokyo Joshi Pro ran their latest TJPW INSPIRATION event today, continuing the usually-quarterly series of shorter events focused on comedy matches and match types & wrestlers rarely seen in the promotion.
Today’s event was held at Tokyo Square in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.
The announced paid attendance was 202, a super full house/very near sellout.
Match 1: Nexgene Tournament: Shion Kanzaki beat Chieri Sakimori by submission. This is double-elimination so Sakimori is out with another loss.
Match 2: MIRAI (Michinoku Pro) beat Momo Sato.
Match 3: Great Wakabayashi-kun aka Rika Tatsumi beat Pom Harajuku & HIMAWARI in a 3-way by pinning HIMAWARI.
Match 4: Yuki Kamifuku & Zac (Battle Mode) beat Shoko Nakajima & Pocotan Kamifuku pinned Pocotan after Fameasser. Zac was a full-size costumed version of Kamifuku’s actual pet dog, which she brought to the ring with her. Almost certainly the only time given the dog is 13 and Kamifuku has about 70 days left until retirement.
Main Event: Suzume & Arisu Endo vs. Haru Kazashiro & Uta Takami went to a 20 minute time limit draw. Afterwards, Takami issued an International Princess Championship challenge to Suzume. That match will happen on 11/8 at Korakuen Hall once it is made official. So we’ve got our 3 title matches for the next signature event.
The next event is Sunday at Wadanai Sports Center in Ishikawa. There will be no live broadcast. On demand 10/20.
