Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Buffalo, NY (SPOILERS for west feed viewers!:
The show began with a pre-taped promo from Tony Khan, who announced that, in the wake of what happened after Sunday’s All Out PPV, both the AEW World Championship and the AEW Trios Championship are now VACANT. There have been reports that former World Champion CM Punk has either been suspended or fired and that former Trios champions The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega have been suspended indefinitely. Neither has been confirmed officially. Determination tournament to crown a new AEW World Champion starts tonight and will conclude in 2 weeks in New York City. A Trios Title determination match is coming up during the show.
MJF-Jon Moxley promo follows.
Death Triangle beat Best Friends to win the vacant AEW Trios Championship. Pac pinned Chuck Taylor after SSP.
Toni Storm beat Penelope Ford. Had Ford won, she would have gotten a future AEW Women’s CHampionship match.
AEW TNT Champion Wardlow beat Tony Nese to retain the title. Squash.
AEW World Title Tournament: Bryan Danielson beat Adam Page. As a result, Danielson will face Chris Jericho next week in the Semifinals. This match deserves some MOTY consideration.
Daniel Garcia beat ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta in a Pure Rules Match to become THE NEW ROH PURE CHAMPION! Excellent match.
The second hour was, in terms of wrestling, one of the best hours of AEW TV to date. Must-watch.
Friday on Rampage: Sammy Guevara vs. Darby Allin in the World Title Tournament, Samoa Joe Speaks, Serena Deeb vs. Madison Rayne and ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli vs. Dax Harwood for the title.
Next week: Jon Moxley vs. the Guevara-Allin winner in the World Title Tournament and Danielson-Jericho in the tournament. The winners face off for the ROH World Championship in 2 weeks. Also added to 9/21 is ROH World Tag Team Champions Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland vs. The Acclaimed for the titles (again).
