Tokyo Joshi Pro held a Shion Kanzaki hometown event for the first time today in Chiba, with pre-event festivities including Raku & Shino Suzuki serving as special train conductors for a train headed to the event.
Today’s event was held at Inubosaki Hotel Banquet Hall in Chiba and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Wednesday. There was no live broadcast.
The announced paid attendance was 279, a legit sellout.
Match 1: Nexgene ‘26 Tournament: Ren Konatsu beat Momo Sato. This is a double-elimination format tournament so Sato is out with another loss.
Match 2: Mahiro Kiryu & Salura Hattori beat Rika Tatsumi & Chieri Sakimori. Hattori pinned Sakimori.
Match 3: Hyper Misao beat Mifu Ashida.
Match 4: Suzume & HIMAWARI beat Yuki Kamifuku & Kira Summer. Suzume pinned Summer after Ring A Bell.
Match 5: Mizuki, Raku & Pom Harajuku beat Yuki Aino, Haru Kazashiro & Chika Nanase. Raku pinned Aino. Afterwards, Raku issued a Princess Tag Team Championship challenge with Harajuku as her partner. That match will happen on 11/8 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. So now we just need a challenger for Suzume and the International Princess Championship.
Match 6: Miyu Yamashita, Wakana Uehara & Toga beat Yuki Arai, Arisu Endo & Shino Suzuki. Yamashita pinned Suzuki after Attitude Adjustment.
Main Event: Shoko Nakajima & Uta Takami beat Miu Watanabe & Shion Kanzaki. Nakajima pinned Kanzaki with a Northern Lights suplex hold. Wait, isn’t the hometown wrestler supposed to win in the main event? That’s usually how it goes so this feels wrong.
The next event is a TJPW INSPIRATION event Wednesday at Tokyo Square in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.
