All-Japan kicks off the annual World’s Strongest Tag League today, their yearly tag team tournament which this year is supported by a Jr. Heavyweight mini-tournament. Expect fast-paced action in the latter as matches will only have a 10 minute time limit while the tag league will follow traditional Japan tournament rules. Before the event there will be a pre-show dark match and traditional ceremonies to introduce all the participants for each tournament.
Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on AJPW.TV. There will likely be Japanese commentary. The pre-show match is scheduled to begin 20 minutes before the event. Taking this into account and the time limits for the matches, I anticipate the event having a total runtime of about 2 1/4 hours.
Today’s lineup:
Pre-show: Jr. Battle Of Glory Entrance Ceremony
