New Japan ran Day 8 of the G1 CLIMAX 33 today, the halfway point for Blocks C & D.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on New Japan World. This was a Samurai! TV broadcast in Japan.
The announced paid attendance was 1472, a legit sellout. Also about the same as yesterday which is good.
All matches were G1 CLIMAX matches, 20 minute time limit.
Match 1: Block C: EVIL beat HENARE.
Match 2: Block D: Alex Coughlin beat Hirooki Goto.
Match 3: Block C: Shingo Takagi beat Mikey Nicholls.
Match 4: Block D: Hiroshi Tanahashi beat Toru Yano.
Match 5: Block C: Tomohiro Ishii beat Eddie Kingston.
Match 6: Block D: Shane Haste beat Tetsuya Naito.
Match 7: Block C: Tama Tonga beat David Finlay.
Main Event: Block D: Jeff Cobb beat Zack Sabre Jr.
Tonga, Finlay & EVIL are now tied for the Block C lead while Cobb is now the Block D leader.
Day 9 is tomorrow at Ota City General Gym in Tokyo with Blocks A & B and a Kazuchika Okada-Will Ospreay main event. Live streaming on New Japan World will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.
