Dragon Gate began their October tour, THE GATE OF VICTORY 2024, yesterday with their monthly Tokyo event.
Yesterday’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK.
The announced paid attendance was 1422, a full house/near sellout.
Match 1: Dragon Dia & Madoka Kikura vs. Dragon Kid & Naruki Doi went to a 15 minute time limit draw.
Match 2: Masaaki Mochizuki beat Ichikawa.
Match 3: Toru Owashi (DDT), Shuji Kondo & BIGBOSS Shimizu beat Ultimo Dragon, Punch Tominaga & Daiki Yanagiuchi. Shimizu pinned Yanagiuchi after Power BOSS.
Match 4: Ryoya Tanaka beat La Estrella.
Match 5: KAI, ISHIN & Jason Lee beat Luis Mante, Hyo & JACKY KAMEI. ISHIN Pinned Hyo.
Match 6: YAMATO, Susumu Yokosuka & Kagetora beat Strong Machine J, Kzy & U-T. Kagetora pinned U-T.
Impromptu Match: Kenoh (Pro Wrestling NOAH) beat Ichikawa in 32 seconds.
Main Event: In a Loser Elimination Match, Shun Skywalker, Kota Minoura, Gianni Valetta & Homare beat Ben-K, BxB Hulk, Riiita & Mochizuki Junior. Minoura pinned Hulk after Golden Rose. As a result, Hulk must leave Gold Class.
The next event was earlier today at Mimasaka Culture Center. There is/was no live or on demand broadcast. The upcoming October live broadcasts are as follows: 10/12 & 10/13 (Kobe Art Center, Doubleheader), 10/20 (Acros Fukuoka, Doubleheader) and 10/25 (PRIME ZONE+).
Today’s events with Ichikawa led to 2 match announcements as well: Ichikawa will retire on 12/12 and his final opponent will be Hiroshi Tanahashi (New Japan) and Kenoh is the next challenger for Open The Dream Gate Champion YAMATO. That match will happen on 11/3 at The Gate Of Destiny 2024 at Osaka Prefectural Gym in Osaka.
