All-Japan continued the Royal Road Tournament today in Kobe.
Today’s event was held at Kobe Sambo Hall in Kobe and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV. There was no live broadcast but the replay is now available.
The announced paid attendance was 615.
Match 1: Shotaro Ashino & Odyssey beat Dan Tamura & Hikaru Sato. Odyssey pinned Tamura after Journey End.
Match 2: Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Seigo Tachibana beat Naruki Doi (Independent/Freelancer) & Takashi (Dragon Gate). Tachibana pinned Takashi.
Match 3: Yuma & Atsuki Aoyagi, Rising Hayato & Hideki Suzuki beat Kento Miyahara, Davey Boy Smith Jr., MUSASHI & Ryo Inoue. Hayato pinned Inoue after Sid Vicious.
Royal Road Round 1:
Match 4: Ryuki Honda beat Kumaarashi.
Match 5: Xyon beat Hokuto Omori.
Main Event: Ren Ayabe beat Jun Saito. That pretty much guarantees a Triple Crown shot against Saito for the eventual winner.
As a result of today, the Quarterfinals are now set and are as follows: Ayabe vs. Xyon, Smith vs. Honda, Miyahara vs. Naoya Nomura and Odyssey vs. Daisuke Sekimoto.
The next event is Wednesday at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo with the first half of the Quarterfinals. Live streaming on AJPW.TV will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET. At that time, some of the roster will be participating in TAKAYAMANIA EMPIRE 4, a special fundraiser event for Yoshihiro Takayama, being held at Korakuen Hall.
UPDATE: After the event, ti was announced that Yuma Anzai, currently out due to injury, will return on 9/23.
