Stardom News: Live 2/4 Broadcast Set

Ahead of their major event Sunday (2/4) at Osaka Prefectural Gym in Osaka, Stardom has announced a LIVE broadcast for the event which should be available worldwide…unfortunately for us outside Japan in particular, it’s a PPV via Pia, which had major issues with their last event that resulted in refunds for buyers and the entire event being available for free on YouTube for a limited time. Pre-orders are now available for the PPV, which will cost 4400 Japanese yen (around $30 US) and you can watch live and on demand from the start of the broadcast Saturday at 11:30 PM PT/Sunday at 2:30 AM until Wednesday at 6:59 AM PT/9:59 AM ET. For those (like myself now) who are Stardom World subscribers, it should be available on demand after the PPV window ends or in the usual on demand timeframe, which is about a week after the event (Stardom World generally doesn’t have live broadcasts). The broadcast will be in Japanese with Natsupoi as a guest on commentary.

The next event is GLEAT Ver. 9 on 2/23 at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka. Broadcast plans TBA, but because it’s Osaka there probably will be no live broadcast. If that is the case, it should be available on demand on YouTube 2-3 days after the event.

UPDATE: After the event, GLEAT announced 2 title matches for 3/13 at Korakuen Hall: A G REX Championship match, which is TBA pending 2/23 results, and a G-INFINITY Championship match which will be Jun & Rei Saito defending against Kaz Hayashi & CIMA. Also announced for 3/13 was MICHIKO vs. Chihiro Hashimoto.

February 2024 Updates Regarding Live Results For Events (Updated 2/2)

At times when schedules and timing allow, I do live results from events in Japan as I watch on the promotions’ various streaming services. There are some changes to note effective February 1, 2024:
There will now be live results for Dragon Gate Pro Wrestling when schedules & time permit, probably once a month, as I have just subscribed to DRAGONGATE NETWORK (it’s among the most expensive services at around $11 US, but you get a ton of content besides wrestling). The first live results event is scheduled to be MEMORIAL GATE 2024 in Wakayama beginning on 2/3 at 10 PM PT.
New Japan Pro Wrestling live results for New Japan World are on hold indefinitely. After the updated service launched I had to update my credit card payment information, which worked properly for one month and now I can’t get it to work (I believe it’s on their end, apparently they tried to charge my old card under the old expiration date and their system is very broken) so my subscription is on hold. I don’t know when/if I will be able to resubscribe. This will not affect free events or those on Triller/FITE. I will keep trying to resolve, I am really trying to avoid having to go through Apple App Store/Google Play/Roku because it would cost an additional $3/month.
I have also started a subscription to Stardom World, but that service does not have live broadcasts (it’s all on demand). Anything they air live is PPV except maybe once in a long while on YouTube.
Live results posts for events on AJPW.TV and WRESTLE UNIVERSE (Pro Wrestling NOAH, DDT, Tokyo Joshi Pro, Ganbare Pro [until April 2024]) will continue as normal as I believe I have resolved those issues (I used the same credit card for all the services because my bank debit card doesn’t work worldwide). Same for GLEAT as all their live streams currently are available for free on YouTube.

2/2 UPDATE: The New Japan World issues have been tentatively resolved. It was something with my account, guess because the old credit card got declined (expired) they wouldn’t let me resubscribe even with changing to another card. I got around it by making a new account with a different email and resubscribing so hopefully all good going forward. At least until this card expires in summer 2028…

UPCOMING LIVE EVENT: GLEAT 2/2/24

While I haven’t seen an official announcement yet, my YouTube subscriptions today reveal that GLEAT will stream tomorrow’s (2/2/24) G PROWRESTLING Ver. 69 event LIVE FOR FREE on YouTube. Bookmark and set a reminder for the video below and come back tomorrow at 1:30 AM PT/4:30 AM ET to watch live. It also will be available on demand after the live broadcast concludes.

AEW Dynamite 1/30/24 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in New Orleans, LA:

Match 1: Jon Moxley vs. Jeff Hardy
Result: Jon Moxley beat Jeff Hardy by ref stoppage (technical submission). 3-4 wrestlers from Mexico’s CMLL promotion are ringside in the crowd and post-match, Moxley taunted them (he also did so during the match) and they hit the ring for a beatdown until Matt Menard, Christopher Daniels and others made the save.

Match 2: Adam Page (with MUSTACHE!) vs. Toa Liona
Result: Adam Page beat Toa Liona

Match 3: Wardlow vs. Komander (last-second add to show during opening match)
Result: Wardlow beat Komander

Ricky Starks/Big Bill & Sting/Darby Allin sitdown interview.

Match 4: Chris Jericho vs. Kyle Fletcher
Result: Chris Jericho beat Kyle Fletcher

Match 5; Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taya Valkyrie. Toni Storm on commentary
Result: Deonna Purrazzo beat Taya Valkyrie by submission

Darby Allin interviewed backstage, interrupted immediately by The Young Bucks.

Main Event: Swerve Strickland vs. Adam Page’s choice, which as expected from his promos last week is Rob Van Dam. Page appeared on video before the bell to tell Strickland it’s a hardcore match. Samoa Joe on commentary
Result: Swerve Strickland beat Rob Van Dam. Afterwards, Tony Khan made Strickland-Adam Page 3 for next week and the winner faces Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship at Revolution.

It was another Dynamite that happened. Nothing terrible but nothing I cared for. Straight-down-the-middle average. I did miss Jericho-Fletcher due to a personal issue that I had to tend to.

Next week: The return of the TONY KHAN HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! Cue some potential Kazuchika Okada speculation.

UPDATE: The Rankings were announced after the show ended on the socials. Check them out below:

BREAKING: 3 Ganbare Pro Wresters Leaving, Promotion Separating From Owner

In a breaking news post on parent DDT’s website, Ganbare Pro has announced that Shota, Yoshiko Hasegawa & Riara will be leaving the promotion at the end of March. All will remain active as freelancers. Their final Ganbare matches will be on 3/28. Shota is the most experiences of the trio at 5 years while Hasegawa has a couple years and Riara is a rookie, the ladies have been featured in Ganbare Joshi.

More as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Just after this was posted, I learned the promotion also announced that after 3/28, it will separate from CyberFight Corporation and operate as an independent promotion. That likely means no more WRESTLE UNIVERSE connections for ticket presales or event broadcasts. Ken Ohka will oversee the operations of the promotion. Also, effective tomorrow (2/1) Shinichiro Tominaga will join the promotion as a member and be part of 2 promotions, along with Yumehuto Imanari who has affiliated himself with Ibushi Pro Wresting since leaving DDT.

The promotion’s first independent events will be 4/27 at Kitazawa Town Hall in Tokyo, 5/18 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, 6/2 and 7/15 at Takashimadaira Community Center. Notably gone it seems if their annual Golden Week event in early May at Korakuen Hall, which had been their biggest event of the year.
