Terrible news just posted by All-Japan on Facebook-Taishin Nagao, a rookie who has been hospitalized since an accident in May involving one of the promotion’s equipment trucks, has died. He was only 21. The cause of death is pending a police investigation but he suffered traumatic shock injuries and abdominal compression in the accident, and despite treatment in the intensive care unit he died a short time ago.
The promotion will provide more details in time and after consultation with Nagao’s parents. Many All-Japan wrestlers have posted tributes and expressed condolences on social media as there were very high hopes for the young wrestler.

UPDATE: All-Japan will hold a memorial service and 10 bell salute for Nagao at the 9/15 Korakuen Hall event. There will also be a flower table and message stand for fans to write messages. The 9/15 event will be broadcast live on AJPW.TV beginning Sunday at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET.
