Stardom continues the 5STAR GP today in Kyoto with another event featuring the Blue Blocks and one Red Block match. It’s coming down to the wire and today’s matches will have significant impact on both who advances and tiebreakers. First up, the Red Block match is Mei Seira vs. Saya Iida in a critical Red B matchup. Seira must win to keep her longshot hopes of advancing alive while Iida must win to outright win the block (she will advance though because, while tied with Rina Yamashita for the block lead, Iida has the tiebreaker because although they went to a draw, second tiebreaker is wins and Iida has that 4-3). Key Blue Block matches include HANAKO vs. Julia Hart, which both need for advance hopes and, more significantly, tiebreakers plus Suzu Suzuki vs. Ruaka as Suzuki looks to stay unbeaten and possibly win Blue A (she has already advanced) ahead of her final match against Hart. All the Blue B contenders also have must-win matches to set up the final day as tiebreakers currently hint at potential rematches being needed.

Today’s event will be held at Kyoto KBS Hall in Kyoto and can be watched LIVE on Stardom World. The event is a legit advance sellout (the only tickets still available are a few wheelchair-only seats). There will be no commentary. There are 9 matches and they’re all 15 minute tournament matches so this will be on the slightly longer side for a house show, with the intermission likely pushing the running time to just over 2 1/2 hours.

The matches begin at 9:03 PM PT/12:03 AM ET. All matches are 5STAR GP matches, 15 minute time limit.

Match 1: Blue A: Aya Sakura vs. Rian. Both already eliminated from playoff contention
Result: Rian beat Aya Sakura
Rian is 1-6, 2 pts. Sakura is 2-5, 4 pts. Both are now finished.

Match 2: Blue B: Starlight Kid vs. Kikyo Furusawa
Result: Starlight Kid beat Kikyo Furusawa by submission
Kid is 4-1-1, 9 pts. Furusawa is 0-7, 0 pts and is finished. Kid has Sohrei next. Her fate will be known after today’s other matches.

Match 3: Blue B: Hanan vs. Yuna Mizumori. Mizumori is already eliminated. Hanan needs a win to stay in control of the block
Result: Yuna Mizumori beat Hanan
Mizumori is 3-4, 6 pts and is finished. Hanan is 3-2-1, 7 pts and now must beat Saya Kamitani in her final match AND both Kamitani & Momo Watanabe MUST lose or draw today. If both win, Hanan is OUT because she loses the tiebreaker to Kid.

Match 4: Blue A: Suzu Suzuki vs. Ruaka. Suzuki will advance but will all but win the block with a win. Ruaka virtually must win
Result: Double Countout. For scoring purposes, Draw
Suzuki is 5-0-1, 11 pts. Ruaka is 3-2-1, 7 pts. Suzuki can now finish no lower than 2nd and will win the block with a Julia Hart loss or draw. Ruaka must beat HANAKO in her final match and get help.

Match 5: Red B: Mei Seira vs. Saya Iida. Iida will advance and wins the block with a win or draw. Seira must win
Result: Mei Seira beat Saya Iida
Seira is 3-2-1, 7 pts. Iida is 4-2-1, 9 pts and is finished but will advance to the playoffs. Iida can still win the block if Maki Itoh-Konami is a draw or no contest (Iida has tiebreaker over both). Seira must beat Utami Hayashishita in her last match and Itoh-Konami MUST be a no contest or no points scenario for both. Seira loses tiebreaker to both.

Match 6: Blue B: Koguma vs. Momo Watanabe. Koguma is already eliminated
Result: Koguma beat Momo Watanabe
Koguma is 3-4, 6 pts. Watanabe is 3-2-2, 8 pts. Both are now finished. For Watanabe to advance, Hanan must lose her final match, Saya Kamitani-Ami Sohrei MUST be a no contest or no points scenario AND Sohrei then must lose her last match. Watanabe has tiebreaker over Sohrei but would need a tiebreaker match against Kamitani if they finish even on wins because their match was a draw. She went from looking good to an extremely narrow path in now.

Match 7: Blue A: HANAKO beat Julia Hart
Both are 4-2, 8 pts. But HANAKO now has the tiebreaker between them

Match 8: Blue A: Miyu Amasaki beat Hina
Both are 3-4, 6 pts and are now finished. Hina is now OUT. She had a very slim chance to advance if she won

Main Event: Blue B: Ami Sobrei beat Saya Kamitani
Sohrei is 4-2, 8 pts. Kamitani is 3-1-2, 8 pts.

There are now 4 left fighting for the 3 Blue B spots Kid now leads with 9 pts. Kid has advamced because of the Banan loss, important because Kid only loses tiebreakers right now to Hanan. If Kid beats Sohrei, Kid wins the block. If it’s a draw, Kid wins the block with a Kamitani loss or draw. If Kid loses, she finishes 3rd. If Sohrei beats Kid, she wins the block. If it’s a draw, Sohrei finishes 2nd on tiebreakers if Sohrei loses, she advances if Hanan-Kamitani is a no contest or no points scenario. If there is a winner, Sohrei is OUT. Hanam can only advance by beating Kamitani AND Sohrei loses to Kid. Kamitani advances with a win or draw but can’t win the block. She is OUT by losing to Hanan.

In Blue A, Suzuki wins the block. HANAKO will advance if she beats Ruaka in their final match OR if Suzuki beats Hart. HANAKO is OUT if she loses AND Hart wins. Hart must beat Suzuki AND Ruaka must beat HANAKO to advance. Ruaka must beat HANAKO AND Hart must lose or draw to advance. If Ruaka & Hart finish tied, tiebreaker goes to Ruaka.

The next event is tomorrow at Act City Hamamatsu Exhibition & Event Hall Block 2 in Shizuoka with the final prelim matches, 2 matches from all blocks. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin at 9 PM PT/midnight ET.

UPDATE: In the US, the promotion announced that Ranna Yagami successfully defended the Future Of Stardom Championship last night against Izzy Moreno. V8 for Yagami. Next defense will be tonight.

In Blue A, Suzuki has advanced. She still has Ruaka & Hart which will settle the remaining tiebreakers (she beat HANAKO). HANAKO also still has Ruaka & Hart so those matches will decide who advances. Hart has the tiebreaker over Ruaka and thus the advantage, she still has to face Suzuki & HANAKO. So it’s now 3 fighting for 2 spots. Hina is now OUT because she loses all tiebreakers. Sakura & Amasaki were also eliminated today.
In Blue B, it’s wide open because Kamitani-Watanabe was a draw and Hanan still has both of them. Kid loses tiebreaker to Hanan. She has tiebreaker over Watanabe but had a draw with Kamitani. Sohrei still has Kid & Kamitani, she loses tiebreaker to Watanabe. Remember that if head-to-head result is a draw, the second tiebreaker is wins. If still even, the final tiebreaker is a rematch. The bottom 3 are now out of it, I was kinda hoping Mizumori might have rallied in after the Kumamoto earthquake as she was carrying her hometown hopes on her shoulders and won 2 straight after it.
In Red B, Seira stays in it with her win but must win 2 more to have a chance to advance and next is the absolute must-win against Saya Iida. If Iida wins or it’s a draw, Iida will win the block (she will advance even with a loss due to tiebreakers). Red A, you ask? Only one match left which is AZM vs. Maika, the winner of that match will win the block. If it’s a draw, there will be a rematch due to tiebreakers being even. Both will advance along with Itsuki Aoki, who despite losing her last 3 after a 4-0 start will finish 3rd due to having tiebreaker over Natsuko Tora.

The next event is tomorrow at Kyoto KBS Hall in Kyoto with the Blue Blocks and another Red B must-win for Seira. The event is a legit advance sellout. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin TONIGHT at 9 PM PT/midnight ET.

In the Red A block, AZM and Maika are through but everything else is far from settled. Let’s go through it one by one:
First, AZM. She advances. If she beats Rina, she needs Maika to lose or draw (Kurogame) to win the block. If it’s a draw, AZM needs Maika to lose to win the block, otherwise she finishes 2nd. If AZM loses, she finishes 3rd. If AZM and Maika both win, Maika wins the block on the tiebreaker and AZM finishes 2nd, and Aoki would get 3rd and advance on tiebreaker (she beat Tora).
Second, Maika. She advances. If she beats Kurogame, she wins the block because she beat AZM. If it’s a draw, she wins the block if AZM loses or draws. If she loses, she finishes 2nd if AZM wins, but if AZM also loses there will be a Maika-Rina rematch to determine who wins the block because they went to a draw and would be even on the second tiebreaker, which is wins. So no matter what, she will be 1st or 2nd.
Third, Rina. She MUST beat AZM. If she does, she finishes 2nd at worst. But if Rina wins AND Maika loses, there will be a tiebreaker rematch for 1st. If Rina draws, she finishes 3rd on tiebreakers because she beat Aoki. If Rina loses, she is OUT.
Finally, Aoki. This is the simplest scenario of all. For her to advance in 3rd, Rina must lose because she has tiebreaker over Tora. Otherwise she is OUT.
Tora can’t advance because she loses the tiebreaker to Aoki.

Now onto Red B:
It’s completely unsettled for one very big reason: Seira has THREE matches left. But first to the top and working down:
Starting with Iida-she advances because she currently has all tiebreakers (her only loss is to Hayashishita). If she beats Seira, she wins the block. Iida also wins the block with a loss or draw if Itoh-Konami is a draw AND Seira does not win out. If Iida loses, the Itoh-Konami winner wins the block if there is one. Worst-case for Iida is 3rd.
Second, Yamashita. She can’t win the block because Iida was a draw and Iida has more wins and she is done. She needs Seira to get AT LEAST one loss or draw AND Itoh-Konami to be a no contest (it MUST be a no points scenario). If Itoh-Konami has a winner, Seira MUST lose or draw at least one of her last 3 matches to advance. But if there is an Itoh-Konami winner AND Seira wins her last 3, Yamashita is OUT because her one loss was Seira.
Third, Konami. She must beat Itoh to advance outright. If it’s a draw, Seira MUST lose or draw at least once more.-if that happens, Konami has the tiebreakers and would advance in 3rd (she lost to Iida and Yamashita). If she loses, Konami is OUT.
Fourth, Itoh. Very simple for once. She must beat Konami or draw to advance as she has tiebreaker over Seira. If she loses, Itoh is OUT.
Finally, Seira. She still has Iida, C and Hayashishita. She MUST WIN ALL 3 AND Itoh-Konami MUST have a winner. If she loses or draws ONCE, Seira is OUT because she loses tiebreakers to both Itoh and Konami. Seira does have tiebreaker over Yamashita.

The top 3 in each block advance to the playoffs, with the winners going to the Quarterfinals. In Red A, Aoki has now lost 2 in a row even though she still leads, but the advantage went to AZM today as she now holds the tiebreaker over Aoki. Aoki’s last opponent is Maika. Although not in last, Kurara is now eliminated because she loses all tiebreakers to those who can get to 6+ points except Rina and has only one match left (Tora). Kurogame is on life support because of the point today but still has the thinnest possible chance. In Red B, Iida leads with Yamashita as her final opponent for the tiebreaker but Konami is in the advantage position with 3 matches left. For tiebreaker purposes, Iida currently beats Konami and Itoh and currently loses to Hayashishita. Yamashita went to draws with Itoh & Hayashishita so there could very well have to be a tiebreaker match, but the second tiebreaker before that after head-to-head result is wins. Yamashita-Konami upcoming will settle that. Hopefully. C is now eliminated due to losing all tiebreakers. In Blue A, Suzuki is in control as the last unbeaten left, with Hart now having the tiebreaker over Ruaka due to winning their match. The only tiebreaker Suzuki does not have right now is Sakura because their match hasn’t happened yet. She also hasn’t faced Ruaka and Hart yet. Sakura is basically on life support because the only tiebreakers she wins are HANAKO & Ruaka. Amasaki & Hina also only beat Sakura. Rian of course is now out. In Blue B, Watanabe maintains the lead and currently would have the tiebreaker over Kamitani because of wins, but Kamitani has a match in hand. Neither has faced Hanan yet though. Hanan only loses tiebreaker right now to Sohrei. Kid also is in good shape having beaten Watanabe but went to a draw with Kamitani and her loss is to Hanan. Mizumori & Koguma are still in it but with slim hopes as Mizumori still has Hanan & Kamitani and Koguma still faces Kid & Watanabe but lost to Hanan & Kamitani. Sohrei has a chance with 3 matches left and she beat Hanan. Furusawa is out.

The next event is Saturday at Gateaux Kingdom Sapporo in Hokkaido for a doubleheader with only the Red blocks for both events. Live streaming on Stardom World for event 1 will begin at midnight PT/3 AM ET and 9 PM PT/midnight ET for event 2.

Stardom continues the 5STAR GP today in Tochigi, with another event focusing on the Blue Blocks. All Blue wrestlers are in action today, but there will also be one Red Block match. In that Red A match, Itsuki Aoki will try to stay unbeaten against Rina and clinch a spot in the playoffs (if Aoki wins, only Maika and AZM would be able to catch her and only AZM would be able to finish 1st ahead of her. Aoki’s last 2 matches after this? Ironically, Maika and AZM). Highlight Blue bouts today include Suzu Suzuki vs. Rian, Hanan vs. Ami Sohrei and Starlight Kid vs. Momo Watanabe.

Today’s event will be held at Light Cube Utsumomiya in Tochigi and can be watched LIVE on Stardom World. There will be no commentary. There are 9 matches tonight, all 15 minute time limit, so that extra match and intermission means this event should run a little longer than yesterdays with an expected running time of about 2 1/2 hours.

It’s a small venue so based on what I know I’ll predict about 400 and a sellout. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 766, a full house/near sellout. Oooooookay…clearly they didn’t show as much seating as I thought they would)

The show begins early with a special guest, I saw it on the socials. I think it’s the former manager of a Japanese pro baseball team. He’s in the ring with Hanan & Hina.

Stardom continues the 5STAR GP today in Sendai to start off the usual weekend slate. Today’s event will feature only the Blue Blocks, which are way behind the Red Blocks due to international participation. On paper the highlight match is Suzu Suzuki trying to stay unbeaten against HANAKO in Block A, but as usual Block B has loaded matches, in particular Hanan vs. Starlight Kid.

The promotion will also begin fundraiser efforts for the Kumamoto earthquake recovery today, as the death toll has now risen to 34. The efforts will be led by Yuna Mizumori, who is from Kumamoto Prefecture. Fans will be able to make donations starting today and at all remaining tournament events through and including 8/23, which will be delivered at a later date.

Today’s event will be held at Sendai Pit in Sendai and can be watched LIVE on Stardom World. The event is a legit advance sellout. There will be no commentary. There are 8 matches planned, all 5STAR GP matches at 15 minutes tops, so they’ll likely use a long intermission to get the event to the standard roughly 2 1/4 hour running time.

In Red A, Kurara can’t win the block and is now on life support with only Tora left. Basically she must beat Tora and then needs everyone else to have a bunch of no contests. She currently loses all tiebreakers (she only beat Rina & Kurogame). If AZM, Maika or Inaba win again or one of Tora, Rina or Kurogame get to 7 points, Kurara is OUT.
In Red B, C is now OUT because she currently loses all tiebreakers. Technically she still has a chance. Realistically, no.
The Blue Blocks were held back the first week due to scheduling with international participation so they are still just getting started, but Amasaki & Furusawa already face elimination.
Tiebreaker is head-to-head result. In the event of head-to-head tiebreakers being draws, the next tiebreaker is wins. If both don’t settle it or if there are 3 or more tied, a tiebreaker match will be held. Keep that in mind for those with draws so far.
