Stardom continued the 5STAR GP today with Round 1 of the playoffs and the Quarterfinals.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on Stardom World. You can also watch THE FULL EVENT FOR FREE on YouTube. There are 2 YouTube broadcasts this time-one in Japanese and one in English.
The announced paid attendance was 1610, a legit sellout with standing room overflow.
Before the event began, Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara were handling opening announcements when Kinyo Furusawa & Rian came out to interrupt and issue a New Blood Tag Team Championship challenge to the champs. That match will happen on Saturday.
5STAR GP Playoffs Round 1:
Match 1: Blue A2 vs. Blue B3: Starlight Kid beat HANAKO by submission.
Match 2: Red B2 vs. Red A3: Saya Iida beat AZM.
Match 3: Blue A3 vs. Blue B2: Ruaka beat Hanan.
Match 4: Red A2 vs. Red B3: Rina beat Rina Yamashita.
Quarterfinals:
Match 5: Starlight Kid beat Ami Sohrei.
Match 6: Maika beat Saya Iida.
Match 7: Suzu Suzuki beat Ruaka.
Main Event: Rina beat Konami.
As a result, the Semifinals will be Maika vs. Rina (Red) and Suzuki vs. Kid (Blue). Winners meet in the Finals.
The Semifinals & Finals are Saturday at Ryogoku Kokugikan. Live streaming as a PPV will begin at 12:30 AM PT/3:30 AM PT. It is available for pre-order (links on Stardom’s website) for 4620 Japanese yen (around $30 US). On demand on Stardom World (non-PPV) on or after 9/9. The current card so far has the Semifinals & Finals and Natsupoi vs. Saori Anou and (although not yet added) the New Blood Tag Team Championship match.
