Injury Report: You Da Bad Wheeler?

Wheeler Yuta main evented this week’s Dynamite against Kenny Omega and is expected to be in Blood & Guts in 2 weeks. However, with 2 planned participants already out (Bryan Danielson is injured, Eddie Kingston will be in Japan until at least mid-August) there is concern about Yuta due to an apparent injury suffered Wednesday. Hamstring. Early reports are it’s not major (not a full tear) and the feeling is he’ll be back in time for 7/19, but he should be considered questionable right now. Jon Moxley might want to keep a certain Shota…or Shooter…on speed dial.

More as it becomes available.

Injury Report: Top AEW Pro Hurt At PPV (Updated 6/27)

Forbidden Door may have been another major success for AEW last night but there was major injury news breaking at the post-event media scrum: Bryan Danielson announced he was injured in his win over Kazuchika Okada. UPDATE: According to Danielson’s wife, the former Brie Bella in WWE, x-rays indicate the injury is worse than first thought. Now makes him sound doubtful and perhaps out for All In UK and All Out. May be done for the year too.

AEW News: Popular Jobber Moving On

In a video clip posted to Twitter today, AEW wrestler Fuego De Sol announced he is finished with the promotion and will become a free agent. No word on specific details but he apparently had been injured for some time and is now cleared to return, so my thinking is this is an expiring contract and Fuego is moving on, and likely is not on bad terms with Tony Khan.

Fuego had been a long-tome jobber/enhancement talent in AEW, earning a contract after a standout performance on the premiere episode of AEW Rampage. He lost in a high-stakes match but was awarded a contract in a surprise spot with help from Sammy Guevara. He did win a few matches along the way in AEW too. His profile page has been removed from AEW’s website and Fuego said he will be accepting bookings starting July 1. That being said, he does have an independent match against fellow AEW wrestler Matt Sydal tomorrow in the Dallas, TX area, but this probably was planned or cleared beforehand even though Sydal made the challenge in a reply to Fuego’s post.
