Dragon Gate kicked off their April tour, THE GATE OF PASSION 2025, yesterday in Shizuoka.

Yesterday’s event was held at Act City Hamamatsu in Shizuoka, There is/was no live or on demand broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 262.

There were last-minute changes to the event due to Kagetora being off. The always-vague poor health.

Match 1: YAMATO, Don Fujii, Genki Horiguchi & Hyo beat Yasushi Kanda, Luis Mante, Ho Ho Lun & Daiki Yanagiuchi. YAMATO pinned Tanagiuchi after Gallaria.

Match 2: KAI & Homare beat Ben-K & JACKY KAMEI. KAI pinned KAMEI after Meteor Impact.

Match 3; Gianni Valetta beat Mochizuki Junior.

Match 4; Kota Minoura & Jason Lee beat Madoka Kikuta & Ryoya Tanaka. Minoura pinned Kikuta.

Match 5: Yuki Yoshioka & Dragon Dia beat Shun Skywalker & ISHIN. Dia pinned ISHIN after DDDDT. (Dragon Gate’s website apparently incorrectly says Dragon Kid instead of Dia)

Match 1: Rey De Parejas Block B Tiebreaker: Shun Skywalker & Homare beat Strong Machine J & Kzy. Skywalker pinned J. As a result, Slywalker & J finish 2nd in Block B and advance to the Semifinals.

Match 2: Dragon Kid won a 12 man battle royal, last eliminating Yosuke🖤Santamaria

Match 3: U-T beat Mochizuki Junior.

Match 4: Rey De Parejas Semifinals: Kpta Minoura & Jason Lee beat Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Hyo. Minoura pinned Hyo.

Match 5: Rey De Parejas Semifinals: Shun Skywalker & Homare beat JACKY KAMEI & Riiita. Skywalker pinned Riiita after a moonsault double kneedrop. That means it’s an all-Z-Brats final.

Match 6: YAMATO, BxB Hulk, Susumu Yokosuka & Kagetora beat Masaaki Mochizuki, Ryu Fuda, Daiki Yanagiuchi & Akihiro Sahara. YAMTO beat Sahara with a Boston Crab.

Match 7: KAI, ISHIN, Yoshiki Kato & Gianni Valetta beat Yuki Yoshioka, Dragon Dia, Madoka Kikuta & Ryoya Tanaka. Valetta pinned Yoshioka after a King Kong kneedrop.

Main Event: Rey De Parejas Finals: Shun Skywalker & Homare beat Kota Minoura & Jason Lee to win the tournament. Homare pinned Minoura after Firebird Splash. As a result, Skywalker & Homare likely will get an Open The Twin Gate Championship match in the future. I’m thinking it will be at DEAD OR ALIVE 2025 on 5/5.

The next event is Tuesday at Kobe Lapis Hall for a PRIME ZONE+ taping. Live streaming on DRAGONGATE NETWORK will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.

UPDATE: Open The Brave Gate Champion YAMATO vs. Daiki Yanagiuchi for the title was announced a few hours after the event. That match will happen on 4/7 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Match 3: KAI & Gianni Valetta beat Luis Mante & Punch Tominaga. Valetta pinned Tominaga after a King Kong kneedrop.

Match 4: Rey De Parejas Block A: Riiita & JACKY KAMEI beat Ryu Fuda & Daiki Yanagiuchi. Riiita pinned Yanagiuchi after Ritanic. As a result, Riiita & KAMEI win Block A and Kota Minoura & Jason Lee finish 2nd, both will advance to the Semifinals.

Match 5: Rey De Parejas Block B: Shun Skywalker & Homare beat Masaaki Mochizuki & Akihiro Sahara. Skywalker pinned Sahara after a moonsault double kneedrop. As a result, there will be a tiebreaker match for 2nd place between Skywalker & Homare and Strong Machine J & Kzy with the winner advancing to the Semifinals.

Main Event: Strong Machine J, Kzy & U-T beat YAMATO, Susumu Yokosuka & Kagetora. U-T pinned Kagetora after Pasion.

Dragon Gate held a Shun Skywalker Produced event in Tokyo today separate from the current tour, which also featured some New Japan participation.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK (includes Japanese commentary).

The paid attendance has not yet been announced. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 546, a super full house/very near sellout)

Pre-show match: YAMATO, JACKY KAMEI & Dragon Dia vs. Kzy, Hyo & Madoka Kikuta went to a no contest. Z-Brats interference.

Match 1: Diamante (Luis Mante, who was masked until losing his mask in 2023) & TBA, revealed at match time to be the returning from injury Dragon Kid, beat ISHIN & Yoshiki Kato. Mante pinned ISHIN after Pertigre.

Match 2: Masked Z beat Riiita by DQ. Unmasked.

Match 3: Gianni Valetta beat Shuji Ishikawa by countout. But it looked like a double countout. Apparently Shun Skywalker changed the rules. (UPDATE: That was the case. Countout was only allowed for Valetta)

As a result, Kuroshio & Hyo win Block B and will advance to the Semifinals (the 2nd place team in each block also will advance). 2nd place will be determined over the remaining matchups-if YAMATO/Hulk win tomorrow (Mochizuki/Sahara) it will depend on if Skywalker/Homare beat Mochizuki/Sahara at a later date because Skywalker/Homare beat YAMATO/Hulk so they have the presumptive tiebreaker. YAMATO/Hulk would advance over J/Kzy. J/Kzy beat Skywalker/Homare.
