GLEAT 5/21/23 Results
GLEAT ran their latest G PROWRESTLING event yesterday, headed almost all the way across Japan back to Osaka after visiting Hokkaido recently.
Yesterday’s event was held at Umeda Stellar Hall in Osaka and will be available on demand on YouTube tomorrow beginning at 4:30 AM PT/7:30 AM ET. There was no live broadcast. The video will be posted here tomorrow morning.
The announced paid attendance was 233.
Match 1: Takanori Ito & Yusuke Kodama beat Minoru Tanaka & Keiichi Sato. Kodama pinned Sato after Sky Drop.
Match 2: Oji Shiiba beat Check Shimatani. Shimatani was a replacement for the injured KAZMA SAKAMOTO (thigh inflammation).
Match 3: Mika Iwata (Sendai Girls) & Yurika Oka beat Sayaka Unagi & Yukari Hosokawa. Oka pinned Hosokawa after a swivel type flying body press.
Match 4: Kaito Ishida, Yutani & Hartley Jackson beat T-Hawk, El Lindaman & Yu Iizuka. Ishida pinned Iizuka with a half tiger suplex hold.
Match 5: Issei Onitsuka beat Kaz Hayashi. As a result, Onitsuka joins the Yanzu Family faction.
Match 6: Soma Watanabe beat Ryuichi Kawakami.
Main Event: G INFINITY Champions Hayato Tamura & Check Shimatani beat Tetsuya Izuchi & Jun Tonsho to retain the titles. Shimatani pinned Tonsho after a reverse strike. V6 for the champs. Next up: Jun & Rei Saito from All-Japan Pro Wrestling. That match will happen on 6/7.
The next event is GLEAT Ver EX “FACE OFF” ACCESS 2 TDCH on 6/7 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo which will also feature the finals of the Lidet UWF Championship Tournament to crown the first champion. Broadcast plans TBA but it almost certainly will stream live on YouTube.
Injury Report: GLEAT Wrestler Needs Cooldown
In a press release posted today, GLEAT announced that KAZMA SAKAMOTO is now off their next event on Sunday (5/21). Right thigh inflammation. Out indefinitely but does not appear serious (just needs rest and treatment). He was to have faced Oji Shiiba. No replacement named yet.

GLEAT ran the latest G PROWRESTLING event yesterday, featuring a G REX Championship defense by new champion T-Hawk.
Yesterday’s event was held at Sapporo E-One Stadium in Hokkaido and will be available on demand on YouTube tomorrow beginning at 4:30 AM PT/7:30 AM ET. There was no live broadcast.
The announced paid attendance was 278, a legit sellout.
Match 1: Minoru Tanaka, Kaz Hayashi & Noriyuki Yoshida beat Yuya Susumu, Takanori Ito & Yusuke Kodama. Tanaka beat Kodama with HEAT Clutch.
Match 2: Quiet Storm beat Yu Iizuka.
Match 3: Issei Onitsuka beat Yutani.
Match 4: El Lindaman & Soma Watanabe beat Tetsuya Izuchi & Jun Tonsho. Watanabe pinned Tonsho after a dropkick.
Match 5: Kaito Ishida, Kotaro Suzuki & Hartley Jackson beat Ryuichi Kawakami, Hayato Tamura & KAZMA SAKAMOTO. Suzuki pinned Kawakami after a tiger driver.
Main Event: G-REX Champion T-Hawk beat Check Shimatani to retain the title. V1 for T-Hawk. Next up: Soma Watanabe or Tetsuya Izuchi. Determination match to decide which one will happen on 6/7 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

In a press release they put out today, GLEAT announced Masato Kamino is injured and off of Sunday’s G PROWRESTLING event in Hokkaido. Meniscus. Out indefinitely. He was to have teamed with Takanori Ito & Yusuke Kodama to face Minoru Tanaka, Kaz Hayashi & Noriyuki Yoshida. No replacement named yet.

GLEAT returned to Tokyo today for the latest G PROWRESTLING event, the 51st as they draw closer to their major summer event on July 1 (the GLEAT 2nd Anniversary event).
Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on YouTube. You can also watch below FOR FREE (since they were back in Tokyo it was a free live broadcast, video courtesy of the GLEAT Official YouTube Channel. The announced paid attendance was 319.
Match 1: Takanori Ito & Masato Kamino beat Kaz Hayashi & Issei Onitsuka. Ito pinned Onitsuka with a German suplex hold.
Match 2: Sayaka Unagi beat Yukari Hosokawa by submission.
Match 3: Yusuke Kodama beat Jun Tonsho & Shinsuya (?) in a 3-way by beating Tonsho.
Match 4: Jun & Rei Saito (All-Japan Pro Wrestling) beat Minoru Tanaka & Yu Iizuka. Rei Saito pinned Iizuka after Drill-A-Hole Piledriver.
Match 5: T-Hawk & El Lindaman vs. Tetsuya Izuchi & Soma Watanabe went to a 20 minute time limit draw.
Main Event: In an Elimination Match, Ryichi Kawakami, Hayato Tamura, Check Shimatani, KAZMA SAKAMOTO & Quiet Storm beat Kaito Ishida, Kotaro Suzuki, Yutani, Hartley Jackson & MAZADA. Order of elimination: Suzuki, Storm, Jackson, KAZMA, Kawakami, MAZADA, Tamura, Yutani, Ishida. Bulk Orchestra wins with Shimatani the only man left.

GLEAT News: Michiko Miyagi Update (5/2/23) (Updated)
GLEAT posted a press release today updating the situation around Michiko Miyagi, who was forced to leave the promotion after losing a match to Sayaka Unagi last month. GLEAT continues to try and talk Miyagi into changing her mind, but Miyagi has refused so far. A compromise of sorts has bene reached-Miyagi is still part of GLEAT, but will not be on any GLEAT events for now and will compete in other promotions like she was a freelancer. Discussions will continue in the future.

UPDATE: In other GLEAT news, SHIHO is now off Saturday’s event. Doctor’s orders. The quick translation is ridiculous and gars to understand (something about brain in the morning and deer temperature). The card has already been changed, not sure what the changed match was.

GLEAT ran the latest G PROWRESTLING event yesterday, the 50th event for the promotion’s primary event series.
Yesterday’s event was held at Osaka Azalea Taisho in Osaka and will be available on demand on YouTube tomorrow beginning at 4:30 AM PT/7:30 AM ET. There was no live broadcast.
The announced paid attendance was 188.
Match 1: Tetsuya Izuchi & Jun Tonsho beat Issei Onitsuka & Yu Iizuka. Tonsho pinned Oizuka with a German suplex hold.
Match 2: Kaho Matsushita beat Yukari Hosokawa.
Match 3: Kaz Hayashi, Minoru Tanaka & Seiichi Ikemoto beat Takanori Ito, Masato Kamino & Yusuke Kodama. Hayashi pinned Kodama. Afterwards, Issei Onitsuka came out to recruit Hayashi for his faction. Apparently whether it happens will be determined by a single match on 5/21.
Match 4: Kotaro Suzuki beat Keiichi Sato.
Match 5: Osma Watanabe beat Drew Parker by ref stoppage. Parker injury.

Impromptu Match: Check Shimatani beat Issei Onitsuka, Jun Tonsho, Yu Iizuka, Masato Kamino & Yutani in a 6-way by pinning Onitsuka. As a result, Shimatani gets the 5/14 title shot. Then Shimatani announced a G INFINITY Championship match for 5/21, with Izuchi & Tonsho potential challengers.
The next event is 5/6 at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. Broadcast plans TBA but since it’s in Tokyo it likely will be a live broadcast on YouTube and available on demand immediately after the event. If live, the broadcast will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.
