Pro Wrestling NOAH kicked off the annual N-1 VICTORY Tournament today, the promotion’s annual Heavyweight single tournament, which is in a round-robin format with 2 blocks.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English. The live broadcast was English only due to being an ABEMA exclusive broadcast in Japan-that version will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE shortly if it’s not already.

The announced paid attendance was 1548, a legit advance sellout. Some standing room only tickets were sold today.

All matches were N-1 VICTORY matches with one exception.

The first challenger for Takahashi will be Eita. That match will happen on 10/11 at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

There was a last-minute change to the first match due to Ulka Sasaki being off the event again as a precaution after missing last weekend’s events due to shingles. It was a DISCO BALL in Tokyo today as Pro Wrestling NOAH held a Mohammed Yone 30th Anniversary Event, the Funky One still going strong and the ‘fro still as epic as ever.

There was a last-minute change to match 5 due to Ulka Sasaki being off the event. Shingles. Daga was the replacement.

Match 1: Ikuto Hidaka (ZERO1) & AMAKUSA beat HAYATA & Daiki Odashima. Hidaka pinned Odashima after Shawn Capture.

Match 2: Junta Miyawaki won a 9 man battle royal, last eliminating Black Menso-re. As a result, Miyawaki wins gift certificates for 300,000 yen of Yone Family meals at their restaurant. That’s over $2000 US so, assuming he eats there once a week, that could be at least a year’s worth of food.

Match 3: Alejandro & Kai Fujimura beat Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf and Eita & Shuji Kondo in a 3-way when Alejandro pinned Bane.

Injury Report: Here Comes The Pain

Not in a good way. Pro Wrestling NOAH has announced changes for their events the next couple days because Ulka Sasaki is now off those events. Shingles. Out indefinitely but at least tomorrow & Monday. For tomorrow he was to have teamed with Tetsuya Endo & Eita to face OZAWA, Daga & Knull. Daga is now off as a result and it will be a tag match. On Monday he was to have teamed with Endo & Kaito Kiyomiya to face KENTA, Manabu Soya & Kazuyuki Fujita. Daga is the replacement. It’s not yet known how long Sasaki may be out past these couple days but the next event after these is 8/30 and there’s another week after that before the N-1 VICTORY Tournament begins so hopefully he will be back by then.

Block B: Galeno, Naomichi Marufuji, Kenoh, Daiki INaba, Jack Morris, Harutoki, Ricky Knight Jr., OZAWA
Kiyomiya is the defending tournament winner. The tournament begins on 9/8 and ends on 9/23. It will be round-robin format with the winners of each block advancing to the Finals.

The next event is 8/24 at Tama Mirai Messe in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 8/23 at 11 PM PT/2 AM ET. Including today’s event, all events through the end of the N-1 VICTORY will be available LIVE and immediately on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. The 9/8 and 9/23 live broadcasts may be English only due to being listed as ABEMA live broadcasts.

UPDATE: For now at least Owadasan is headed to England to start his excursion-he has been announced for a Progress Wrestling event next week.

Pro Wrestling NOAH ran a special KAWASAKI SUMMER VOYAGE 2025 event today in Kanagawa, which featured a lot of Hajime Ohara promotional work as this is a hometown event of sorts for him so the promotion did a lot of “Mui Bien Promotion” articles on their website for the event.

Today’s event was held at Culttz Kawasaki in Kanagaawa and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese.

The announced paid attendance was 1757. This was a free admission event for elementary & junior high school students so the final number may have been a little higher.

Main Event: Masa Kitamiya & Takashi Sugiura beat GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Manabu Soya & Daiki Inaba by ref stoppage to win the titles. Kitamiya & Sugiura become the 72nd GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions. Kitamiya beat Soya with Stranglehold Gamma. Of course he’s gonna win a title as soon as he joins Team 2000X. Everybody has!
