Tokyo Joshi Pro 2/11/26 Results (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro made their first visit this year to Niigata today for a Shoko Nakajima hometown event.

Today’s event was held at Duo Cerezo in Niigata and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE tomorrow or, for those not in the western US, early Friday morning. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 215.

Before the event began, GRAND PRINCESS ‘26 PR Ambassador Super Sasadango Machine appeared for his latest update. It didn’t end well for Representative President Tetsuya Koda who apparently did not meet progress goals.

Match 1: Arisu Endo beat Shion Kanzaki by submission.

Match 2: Suzume beat Mifu Ashida.

Match 3: Miyu Yanashita beat Raku & DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Mahiro Kiryu in a 3-way by pinning Kiryu to win the title. Yamashita becomes the 1801st Champion.

Match 4: Max The Inpaler & Pom Harajuku beat Hyper Misao & Chika Nanase. Max pinned Nanase after a short range lariat.

Match 5: Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi beat Sarah Phoenix & Kira Summer. Tatsumi pinned Summer after Twist Of Fate. Afterwards, Machine returned to the ring with more PR stuff for Tatsumi.

Match 6: Mizuki, Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami beat Yuki Kamifuki, Wakana Uehara & Ren Konatsu. Takami beat Konatsu with Koala Clutch.

Main Event: Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro beat Yuki Arai, HIMAWARI & Toga. Nakajima pinned HIMAWARI after a diving senton.

The next event is Saturday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 6:30 PM PT/9:30 PM ET.

UPDATE: BREAKING-You will also be able to watch Saturday’s entire event LIVE on YouTube FOR FREE!

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 1/31/26 LIVE Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the Max Heart Tournament today with the Semifinals. At this point it’s down to 3 heavy favorites left…and much to my dismay, Mizuki. One Semifinal has Mizuki & Uta Takami against Suzune & Arisu Endo, always favorites in the tournament. The other Semifinal has Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara vs. Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku. Ober Eats are the Princess Tag Team Champions so if they lose they will likely be defending the titles at GRAND PRINCESS ‘26 against the eventual winners…which of course I hope is Wasteland Pom Party after a Finals loss last year.

There have been last-minute changes to the card since yesterday, mainly because Kaya Toribami is now off. Leg injury. Currently expected to be out 2 weeks. She was to have been in a 6-woman tag match. Raku replaces her and the match was reshuffled as a result, and because Raku was pulled from a 3-way against Hyoer Misao & Shino Suzuki that is now a single match. Also, before the event begins there will be a contract signing for the International Princess Championship match on 2/14 between MIRAI & Toga.

Today’s event will be held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE and ABEMA. There will be no commentary. The signing ceremony is scheduled for 10 minutes before the event so that will make this a slightly longer event than.normal, I’m thinking close to 2 1/2 hours.

Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Pre-show: 2/14 International Princess Championship Public Contract Signing (MIRAI & Toga)
Hyper Misao vs. Shino Suzuki
HIMAWARI vs. Shion Kanzaki
Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro vs. Yuki Arai, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer
Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Mahiro Kiryu* vs. Miyu Yamashita, Raku & Ren Konatsu
MIRAI & Sarah Phoenix vs. Toga & Chika Nanase
Max Heart Tournament Semifinals:
Max The Inpaler & Pom Harajuku vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara
Suzune & Arisu Endo vs. Mizuki & Uta Takami
*-This once again comes with the disclaimer about the DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship because Kiryu is still champion so she can lose the title if anyone pins or submits her. Even a teammate, and now that Tatsumi is on her team…

Updates below will begin at 5:50 PM PT/8:50 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin at 5:40 PM PT/8:40 PM ET. The matches should begin around 6:10 PM PT/9:10 PM ET.

5:40 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. We should be going to the venue in 10 minutes.

5:50 PM PT UPDATE: Live update begin now.

We are LIVE from Shinjuku Face in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Advance sales were a bit weaker this time and there is a lot happening in the area today (Stardom and in particular sumo with a major event) so it might keep the numbers down today. It will depend on same-day sales but I’ll guess low and say 250. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 282)

The contract signing for the 2/14 International Princess Championship match between MIRAI & Toga starts things off early. The matches should begin in 20-25 minutes. Relatively civil ceremony.

The opening announcements follow this, a couple minutes ahead of schedule. The charity fundraising efforts for Shinjiro Otani and his medical expenses have expanded to include support for fellow legend Yoshihiro Takayama. They finish with an announcement with that I’m guessing are upcoming hometown events for Mifu Ashida, Suzume & Miyu Yamashita. Updates to follow. (Update-That is the case. Ashida first on 4/4 at Fukuchiyama City Sandanike Park General Gymnasium in Kyoto. Yamashita second on 4/5 at Acros Fukuoka in Fukuoka. Suzume last on 5/6 at Tsukuba International Congress Hall Multipurpose Hall in Ibaraki)

The matches begin at 6:15 PM PT/9:15 PM ET.

Match 1: HIMAWARI vs. Shion Kanzaki. 15 minute time limit
Result: HIMAWARI beat Shion Kanzaki by submission

Match 2: Hyper Misao vs. Shino Suzuki. 15 minute time limit
Result: Hyper Misao beat Shino Suzuki

Match 3: Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro vs. Yuki Arai, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer. 20 minute time limit
Result: Shoko Nakajima, Yuki AIno & Haru Kazashiro beat Yuki Arai, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer. Nakajims pinned Summer with a Northern Lights suplex hold.

Match 4: Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Mahiro Kiryu vs. Miyu Yamashita, Raku & Ren Konatsu. 20 minute time limit. Before the match began (and afte rKiryu stalling on her entrance) Tatsumi tried and failed to win the DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship from Kiryu.
Result: Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Mahiro Kiryu beat Miyu Yamashita, Raku & Ren Konatsu. Tatsumi pinned Konatsu after Twist OF Fate. And of course sent Kiryu scrambling to get away from another Iron Man title attempt.

Match 5: MIRAI (Michinoku Pro) & Sarah Phoenix (from Chile for those curious) vs. Toga & Chika Nanase. 20 minute time limit
Result: MIRAI & Sarah Phoenix beat Toga & Chika Nanase. MIRAI beat Nanase with an armbar/toehold combo.

Match 6: Max Heart Tournament Semifinals: Suzune & Arisu Endo vs. Mizuki & Uta Takami. No time limit
Result: Mizuki & Uta Takami beat Suzume & Arisu Endo. Mizuki pinned Endo with Cutie Special. As a result, Mizuki & Takami advance to the Finals. Not happy happy…

Main Event: Max Heart Tournament Semifinals: Max The Inpaler & Pom Harajuku vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara. No time limit
Result: Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara beat Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku. Kamifuku pinned Harajuku after a middle-turnbuckle Fameasser. As a result, Kamifuku & Uehara advance to the Finals and will face Mizuki & Takami. That match will happen on 2/14 at Korakuen Hall. Not the Finals I was hoping for.

The next event is “Shoko Quest 4”, a Shoko Nakajima hometown event, on 2/11 at Duo Cerezo in Niigata. There will be no live broadcast. On demand on 2/12.

Injury Report: Bird Wings Clipped

Kaya Toribami has been flying high recently in Tokyo Joshi Pro as the masked bird-themes wrestler (who reminds me of former wrestler Command Bolshoi outfit-wise) enjoys tag team success, but unfortunately her high flying hopes are grounded for now due to an injury. Leg. Out at least 2 weeks starting with Saturday’s event. She was to have teamed with Miyu Yamashita & Mahiro Kiryu to face Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Ren Konatsu. Raku is the replacement but Kiryu and Konatsu have also been swapped in the match so it’s now Watanabe/Tatsumi/Kiryu vs. Yamashita/Raku/Konatsu. Other changes as a result because Raku was to have faced Hyper Misao & Shino Suzuki in a 3-way. That’s now a single match of Misao-Suzuki.

Toribami is expected back on 2/14 if all goes as planned so hopefully this is a minor injury.

(Toribami has commented on the injury, it does not appear to have happened during a match or in the ring. Just a freak casual thing)

TJPW News: (HELLO)O CANADA!

Good news for Tokyo Joshi Pro fans in the northern part of North America, and especially for perhaps one Sayuri Namba too…the promotion is headed to Canada for the first time! They will make their debut there on 4/11 & 4/12 with 2 events at Great Canadian Hastings Racecourse & Casino in Vancouver, BC. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday through Vtix (not TJPW). Now we wait for the burning question to be answered-will our beloved former ring announcer be there? She’s already promoting it and trying to reach out for sponsors in both Japanese & English so we’ll see but I’m very hopeful she will be there. Also no word on TV/streaming yet but I’m thinking it may be Triller/FITE as a PPV then WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date.

More as it becomes available.

(Unfortunately these events fall during a planned vacation to the eastern US so I can’t watch them live)

Tokyo Joshi Pro 1/25/2026 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the 2026 Max Heart Tournament today with the Quarterfinals.

Today’s event was held at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. (I almost did live results but opted against it due to sumo)

The announced paid attendance was 347, a super full house/very near sellout.

Before the event, DDT wrestler Super Sasadango Machine appeared in his role as PR ambassador for GRAND PRINCESS ’26 on 3/29 at Ryogoku Kokugikan. This led to a new match being added-Yuka Sakazaki & Konosuke Takeshita vs. Machine & Hyper Misao.

Match 1: Kira Summer & Chika Nanase beat Toga & Shion Kanzaki. Nanase pinned Kanzaki.

Match 2: Hyper Misao, HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki beat Raku, Mahiro Kiryu & Ren Konatsu. Misao pinned Konatsu after Hypami Returns.

Match 3: Shoko Nakajima beat Sarah Phoenix.

Max Heart Tournament Quarterfinals:
Match 4: Mizuki & Uta Takami beat Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro. Takami pinned Kazashiro after a Mizuki foot stomp.
Match 5: Suzume & Arisu Endo beat Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami. Endo pinned Toribami after The 10th Law.
Match 6: Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku beat Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi. Max pinned Tatsumi after a reverse splash.
Main Event: Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara beat Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida. Uehara beat Ashida with Banana Pillow. Awww…have to settle for only one of my two teams moving on.
As a result, the Semifinals will be Mizuki/Takami vs. Suzume/Endo and Ober Eats vs. Wasteland Pom Party.

The Semifinals are Saturday at Shinjuku Face. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE and ABEMA will begin Friday at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET.

TJPW News: US Tour Participants Announced

Tokyo Joshi Pro has announced the participants for their next US tour in March in Texas for 4 events in Dallas & Houston. It’s actually easier to list who currently IS NOT coming: HIMAWARI, Kira Summer, Haru Kazashiro, Chika Nanase, Ren Konatsu and Shion Kanzaki. Everyone else on the main roster is. Non-Japan participation is TBA but hopefully that includes Max The Impaler since Pom Harajuku is coming.

Tickets go on sale tonight at 10 PM PT/1 AM ET for all events at tokyostoryusa.com. Ticket prices will range from $30-250 for each event. Broadcast plans are also TBA, they may be PPVs on Triller/FITE then on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE several weeks later.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 1/17/2026 LIVE Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro really gets their 2026 going today with the kickoff of the 6th Max Heart Tournament. The promotion’s now-annual tag team tournament usually held early in the year, it’s a bracket-style single-elimination tournament featuring almost the entire roster, with this year’s event featuring 12 teams. 4 teams get a free pass through the first round and all Round 1 matches will be held today with the winners advancing to the Quarterfinals. Both teams I want to make the Finals-Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida and Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku-are in action today. Wasteland Pom Party lost in the Finals last year so hopefully it’s one better this year.

Today’s event will be held at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE and ABEMA (the new WRESTLE UNIVERSE live subscription package is required for the latter, the ABEMA add-on will not have on demand replays-that is only on standalone UNIVERSE). There will be no commentary. The event is a legit advance sellout. There are 6 matches planned total and the tournament matches have no time limit so this may be a longer house show event than normal, closer to 2 1/2 hours.

Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Sarah Phoenix vs. Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara & Toga
Yuki Aino, Haru Kazaahiro & Mahiro Kiryu vs. Suzume, Arisu Rndo & Shion Kanzaki
Max Heart Tournament Round 1:
HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki vs. Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida
Raku & Ren Konatsu vs. Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku
Kira Summer & Chika Nanase vs. Mizuki & Uta Takami
Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao vs. Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami

Updates below will begin at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET. The UNIVERSE live stream is scheduled to begin 20 minutes before the event.

6:40 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. We should be going to the venue in 15-20 minutes although the UNIVERSE pre-start screen is showing a start time moved up 10 minutes. There is a DDT event at the venue after this today so they may need to finish up earlier than planned. (It didn’t start said 10 minutes early so that’s an error on the stream)

7 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s a legit advance sellout which, depending on the setup, should mean a minimum of 350. The venue’s full capacity for wrestling is just under 400. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance-a legit advance sellout-was 273. Much lower than I anticipated)

The matches should begin in 10-15 minutes.

The matches begin at 7:15 PM PT/10:15 PM ET.

Match 1: Yuki Aino, Haru Kazaahiro & Mahiro Kiryu vs. Suzume, Arisu Rndo & Shion Kanzaki. 20 minute time limit. Oh, and Kiryu is still DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion so you know what that means…
Result: Yuki AIno, Haru Kazashiro & Mahiro Kiryu beat Suzume, Arisu Endo & Shion Kanzaki. Aino pinned Kanzaki after Venus DDT. Nobody tried immediately post-match to win the title from Kiryu…

Match 2: Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Sarah Phoenix vs. Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara & Toga. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara & Toga beat Mio Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & Sarah Phoenix. Kamifuku pinned Phoenix after Fameasser.

Max Heart Tournament Round 1:
Match 3: Kira Summer & Chika Nanase vs. Mizuki & Uta Takami. No time limit
Result: Mizuki & Uta Takami beat Kira Summer & Chika Nanase. Takami beat Nanase with Koala Clutch. As a result, Mizuki & Takami advance to the Quarterfinals and will face Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro.

Match 4: Raku & Ren Konatsu vs. Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku. No time limit
Result: Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku beat Raku & Ren Konatsu. Max pinned Konatsu. As a result, Wasteland Pom Party advance to the Quarterfinals and will face Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi. Whoever wins that one could very well win the tournament.

Match 5: HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki vs. Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida. No time limit
Result: Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida beat HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki. Ashida pinned Suzuki with a German suplex hold. As a result, Arai & Ashida advance to the Quarterfinals and will face Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara.

Main Event: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao vs. Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami. No time limit
Result: Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami beat Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao. Toribami pinned Misao. As a result, Yamashita & Toribami advance to the Quarterfinals and will face Suzume & Arisu Endo. I figured if there was going to be an upset today, it would be here and that’s what happened. One of the usual big favorites is out. This could be the start-or continuation from the last couple months-of the impending big breakout year for Toribami.

Today’s event went much shorter than I expected, checking in at only 110 minutes.

The Quarterfinals are 1/25 at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 1/24 at 11 PM PT/2 AM ET.

In other news, it was announced that “YES! Wonderland”, the annual Golden Week blowout event traditionally held on 5/4 at Korakuen Hall, will return after a hiatus last year in favor of an Osaka event.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 1/10/2026 LIVE Results

With Ittenyon and their year-opening pre-Tokyo Dome blowout event now behind them, Tokyo Joshi Pro begins their 2026 today with “TJPW New Year Party 2026” in Tokyo. It’s mostly a standard house show but the main event will finish setting what will be the likely main event at GRAND PRINCESS ’26, the biggest event of the year, on 3/29-we already know Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe will next defend the title then, but a 6-way elimination match today will determine who she defends against. It’s billed as a “survival match” and not a battle royal as there are no over the top rope eliminations. The match has the usual heavy hitter contenders including former champions Miyu Yamashita (who hasn’t held the title in what seems like too long now), Rika Tatsumi & Shoko Nakajima, but also presents the first and best chance so far for Yuki Arai to get a title shot. However, there is a big wild card in the match as Max The Impaler also will take part, admittedly leading to hopes of winning the title then defending first against Pom Harajuku which would be so awesome. And finally there’s, must to my dismay and pending eternal gripes, Mizuki…anyone but her please…

In non-related news, the promotion also has announced the first “official” match for GRAND PRINCESS ’26 aside from the title match-Yuka Sakazaki & Konosuke Takeshita vs. TBA and TBA in what already sounds like a very interesting match. This will be Takeshita’s TJPW debut.

Today’s event will be held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE and ABEMA (the latter requires the new WRESTLE UNIVERSE live subscription which is 1250 Japanese yen but only includes live broadcasts-no on demand replays as those remain exclusive to the standalone UNIVERSE subscription). There will be no commentary. There are just 6 matches today or a usual house show lineup and although the main event will have no time limit I expect the event to be a “typical” house show with a running time or around, or today a little over, 2 hours.

Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Mifu Ashida vs. Suzume, Arisu Endo, Uta Takami & Ren Konatsu
Hyper Misao, Mahiro Kiryu & Kira Summer vs. Pom Harajuku, HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki*
Haru Kazashiro vs. Shion Kanzaki
Raku vs. Kaya Toribami & Chika Nanase in a 3-way
Miu Watanabe & J-Rod vs. Ryo Mizunami & Yuki Aino
Miyu Yamashita vs. Rika Tatsumi, Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Arai, Max The Impaler & Mizuki in a 6-way elimination match for the next Princess Of Princess Championship shot at GRAND PRINCESS ’26. No over the top rope rule

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 15 minutes before the event.

*-This comes with the usual disclaimer because, last I heard, Kiryu is still the DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion, meaning if she is the loser by pinfall or submission she will lose the title, and will probably find a way to quickly win it back to avoid ruining an already announced upcoming title defense against Aja Kong. But that’s why there’s always that “card subject to change” disclaimer, especially with this being a 24/7 championship.

5:45 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. We should be going to the venue in 10-15 minutes.

5:57 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Shinjuku Face in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Not sure if it’s the reduced capacity setup or full capacity, which is around 350 and 500, respectively, but based on advance sales and first glance it sounds like the latter. Advance sales seemed to be good so I’ll predict the crowd will be around 400. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 361, a full house/near sellout)

The matches should begin in 10-15 minutes.

The matches begin at 6:11 PM PT?9:11 PM ET.

Match 1: Haru Kazashiro vs. Shion Kanzaki. 15 minute time limit
Result: Haru Kazashiro beat Shion Kanzaki by submission

Match 2: Raku vs. Kaya Toribami & Chika Nanase in a 3-way. 20 minute time limit
Result: Raku beat Kaya Toribami & Chika Nanase in a 3-way by pinning Nanase.

Match 3: Hyper Misao, Mahiro Kiryu & Kira Summer vs. Pom Harajuku, HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki. 20 minute time limit
Result: Pom Harajuku, HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki beat Hyper Misao, Mahiro Kiryu & Kira Summer. HIMAWARI pinned Summer. They all tried to win the Iron Man title from Kiryu at the start but thwarted each other.

Match 4: Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Mifu Ashida vs. Suzume, Arisu Endo, Uta Takami & Ren Konatsu. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Mifu Ashida beat Suzume, Arisu Endo, Uta Takami & Ren Konatsu. Toga beat Konatsu.

Match 5: Miu Watanabe & J-Rod vs. Ryo Mizunami (Independent/Freelancer) & Yuki Aino. 20 minute time limit
Result: Time Limit Draw

Main Event: Miyu Yamashita vs. Rika Tatsumi, Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Arai, Max The Impaler & Mizuki in a 6-way elimination match for the next Princess Of Princess Championship shot at GRAND PRINCESS ’26. No over the top rope eliminations. No time limit
Order of elimination: Max by Nakajima (diving senton), Mizuki by Nakajima (Tatsumi Missile Hip) (YES!!!), Nakajima by Tatsumi (Twist Of Fate-missed when it happened), Tatsumi by Yamashita (Crash Rabbit Heat), Yamashita by Arai (Scorpion deathlock)
Result: Yuki Arai wins. As a result, Arai will face Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe for the title at GRAND PRINCESS ’26. OMG!!! HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!! What a way to start my spring vacation…Arai possibly becoming PoP Champion! It’s hopefully going to happen! Post-match, Watanabe came out for the first faceoff with her next challenger. I love them both but on 3/29…hopefully…Finally!!! Yeah, I’m a little biased and a little excited!

The next event is the opener of the 6th Max Heart Tournament, the promotion’s annual tag team tournament, on 1/17 at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama. The start time is a little uncertain because it is scheduled to begin on 1/16 at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET, but live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE is scheduled to begin at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET which suggests the start time is/will be moved up an hour.

TJPW News: Full Tag Tournament Field Announced

Some TJPW news on what is traditionally a slow week for Japanese pro wrestling (after Ittenyon is typically when contracts are/are not renewed and everyone takes a break for a few days before the new year gets going, it’s also a more active tine for sumo with final January Tournament preps):

The full field for the upcoming annual Max Heart Tournament, the promotion’s annual tag team tournament, has been officially announced. It’s a 12-team field this year and today’s announcement of the last 4 teams features the most important addition: Wasteland Pom Party aka Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku (wrestling’s best & most lovable odd couple) which made me very happy. They were runners-up last year The other 3 teams announced were Mizuki & Uta Takami, Raku & Ren Konatsu and Kira Summer & Chika Nanase. The 8 previously announced teams were current Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara, Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi (always a heavy favorite to win), Arisu Endo & Suzune (likewise a favorite), Yuki Aino & Haru Kazaahiro, Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao (defending tournament winners), HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki, Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami, Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida (who I most want to win aside from Max & Pom).

The tournament is single-elimination bracket format with 4 teams directly advancing to the Quarterfinals and the rest competing in first round matches on 1/17 at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama. The Quarterfinals are on 1/25 at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo, the Semifinals are on 1/31 at Shinjuku Face and the Finals are on 2/14 at Korakuen Hall. If Kamifujku/Uehara do not win, the winning team will get a Princess Tag Team Championship match/rematch against Ober Eats-while not yet confirmed it likely will be at GRAND PRINCESS ‘26 on 3/29 at Ryoogku Kokugikan…unless Tatsumi/Watanabe win because Watanabe will defend the Princess Of Princess Championship that day.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “2026” 1/4/2026 LIVE Results

January 4, or Ittenyon in Japanese, is the biggest day of pro wrestling annually in the country. While it’s mainly about Tokyo Dome, it also sees Tokyo Joshi Pro begin the day with their signature year-opening event, “Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 2026”. It’s a blowout event with 3 title matches, an annual traditional single match and plenty more in between. The traditional single match is a bit wacky this year…the match itself is Shoko Nakajima vs. Hyper Misao. The wacky part is this time it’s a TJPW Horse Princess Cup Match-instead of a traditional match, there will be three wrestlers “racing” around the venue making 3 laps through the crowd. The first to finish wins for a specific wrestler, but Nakajima & Misao can freely interfere in the racers’ paths. There will be no pinfalls, submissions, countouts or DQs. There are also bonus prizes for fans who participate in a related lottery and pick the winning “horse”. That aside, the 3 title matches start with International Princess Champion Arisu Endo defending the title against MIRAI, who bounced around last year starting in Marigold then leaving for Michinoku Pro and now coming to TJPW. The second title match has Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara defending the titles against Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro, while the main event will be Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe vs. Suzume for the title. If Suzume can win the title, she will become the 3rd wrestler in TJPW history to become a Triple Crown Champion, having held all 3 of the promotion’s championships. The other two? Watanabe and Rika Tatsumi. Finally, OG roster member Yuka Sakazaki, currently with All Elite Wrestling, makes her latest long-awaited return to the promotion for a special 6-woman tag match. Oh, 3 title matches? Actually perhaps 4 because a DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship match is scheduled but that always comes with the 24/7 “subject to change” caveat.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese & English. J-Pop idol Momo Sakurai will be a special guest on Japanese commentary. Kira Summer will be on English commentary after her match. The event is a legit advance sellout although standing room only tickets will be sold today. Based on the time limits for the card and being 9 matches with no intermission, the total running time should wind up being around a “standard” Korakuen event of 2 1/2 hours but not more than 3 hours, meaning there will be plenty of time to get ready for Tokyo Dome (at least 90 minutes).

Today’s lineup:
Shion Kanzaki Debut Match: Uta Takami & Chika Nanase vs. Ren Konatsu & Shion Kanzaki
Yuna Manase & Toga vs. HIMAWARI & Kira Summer
DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Mahiro Kiryu vs. Aja Kong, Rika Tatsumi & Shino Suzuki in a 4-way for the title
Shoko Nakajima vs. Hyper Misao in a TJPW Horse Princess Cup Match. See above for rules
Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami vs. J-ROD & Mifu Ashida
Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Yuki Arai vs. Max The Impaler, Pom Harajuku & Raku
International Princess Champion Arisu Endo vs. MIRAI for the title
Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara vs. Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro for the titles
Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe vs. Suzume for the title

Updates below will begin at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 20 minutes before the event.

Pre-show Update: The live stream start has been pushed back 5 minutes and will now be 15 minutes before the event begins. Also, there may be an emergency change of ring announcer today as Rise Shirai posted on social media that she suffered minor injuries in a fall at her home today. Mostly bruises and a chipped front tooth. We’ll find out.
Also, the WRESTLE UNIVERSE video page is listing the Iron Man 4-way as a regular 3-way with no Suzuki. Nothing on social media about any changes, the only thing so far is an apology about many supporter towels not being available for sale at the venue due to shipping issues.

5:45 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Your hosts are Haruo Murata, Kagehiro Osano, Sayoko Mita & special guest Momo Sakurai. Your English host is Mr. Haku, to be joined later by Kira Summer.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s a legit advance sellout with standing room only tickets sold today, so the number will depend on the setup. It’s going to be closer to “new noemal” full capacity today which is around 1500 (the pre-pandemic full capacity was 2350 but normally was 2100) but maybe a little less. With standing room I’ll predict around 1400. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 1564. That would suggest a lot of standing room tickets were sold but based on what I saw this may be a little inflated)

The matches should begin in 25-30 minutes. Rise Shirai is good to go as ring announcer while referee Fumirin is also there to provide English translation for visiting foreign fans during opening announcements. And good news today-STREAMERS!!!
They also announced NEXT YEAR’S installment of this event. 1/4/2027 at Korakuen so start planning now!

Up Up Girls time…false alarm about Shino Suzuki. She’s goof to go so UNIVERSE’s website match listing is wrong.

The matches begin at 6:12 PM PT/9:12 PM ET.

Result: Aja Kong beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Mahiro Kiryu, Rika Tatsumi & Shino Suzuki in a 4-way by pinning Suzuki to win the title. Kong becomes the 1791st Champion. Which led to…
Mahiro Kiryu beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Aja Kong ot win the title. Kiryu becomes the 1792nd Champion. Both Kiryu & Tatsumi pinned Kong together, but Kiryu was declared champion due to being underneath Tatsumi. Ugh…opportunities always wasted by putting it right back on Kiryu…

A character called Minimo-Chan is brought out. I think this is supposed to be an announcement related to GRAND PRINCESS ’26. And it is…Debut Match on 3/29!?! Mari Yaguchi, a former member of J-Pop girl group Morning Musume, will be there as a supporter.

Match 4: Shoko Nakajima vs. Hyper Misao in a TJPW Horse Princess Cup Match. Instead of a traditional match, there will be three wrestlers “racing” around the venue making 3 laps through the crowd. The first to finish wins for a specific wrestler, but Nakajima & Misao can freely interfere in the racers’ paths. There will be no pinfalls, submissions, countouts or DQs. 15 minute time limit. The “racers” are Uta Takami, Ren Konatsu & Shion Kanzaki
During the match…
Hyper Misao’s Bicycle beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Mahiro Kiryu to win the title. Bicycle becomes the 1792nd Champion.
Result: Ren Konatsu “won”. That apparently meant neither wins. After that in the confusion…
Mahiro Kiryu beat DDT Iron man Heavymetalweight Champion Hyper Misao’s Bicycle to win the title. Kiryu becomes the 1793rd Champion.

Match 5: Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami vs. J-ROD & Mifu Ashida. 20 minute time limit

Quick break for ring repairs.

Match 7: International Princess Champion Arisu Endo vs. MIRAI (Michinoku Pro) for the title. 30 minute time limit
Result: MIRAI beat International Princess Champion Arisu Endo to win the title. MIRAI becomes the 16th International Princess Champion. Next up: Toga. I’m sure a lot of fans have been waiting for this moment, myself included. Toga has had breakout star written all over her since her debut, and the last few months it’s felt like she’s been on the verge and just was waiting for that chance. It may have just come.

Result: Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara beat Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro to retain the titles. Uehara beat Kazashiro with Banana Pillow. V3 for the champs.

Main Event: Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe vs. Suzume for the title. 30 minute time limit
Result: Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe beat Suzume to retain the title. V4 for Watanabe. But I thought Suzume was going to win it after brilliantly countering a Teardrop attempt with Ring A Bell near the 20 minute mark…but it wasn’t enough. Next up: TBD on Saturday with the match happening at GRAND PRINCESS ’26.

The next event is Saturday at Shinjuku Face. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET.
