Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “WRESTLE PRINCESS 3” Results (10/9/22)

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling runs their biggest event of the year, WRESTLE PRINCESS 3, today, a blowout event featuring top names from TJPW, All Elite Wrestling, Pro Wrestling EVE in England and more. All 3 TJPW titles are on the line tonight-first, International Princess Champion Alex Windsor returns from England to defend against Miu Watanabe, who will be at a huge size advantage but makes up for it in heart and determination. Then, EVE tries to win more gold as Nightshade & Leah O’Reilly challenge AA Eye Candy (Yuki Arai & Saki Akai) for the Princess Tag Team Championship, another literally huge challenge for the champions. In the main event, Princess Of Princess Champion Shoko Nakajima & Yuka Sakazaki face off for the title once again. The undercard includes former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho, Hall of Fame legend Aja Kong and the scary US sensation Max The Impaler.

Today’s event will be held at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. The Japanese commentary team will be Haruo Murata, Kagehiro Osano and special guest Reika Saiki (a former Princess Of Princess Champion, Tokyo Princess Cup winner and original Up Up Girl among other accolades who officially retired earlier this year). The English commentary team will be Chris Brookes & Baliyan Akki. Vocal cheering by fans will be allowed at the event, which will result in greatly reduced capacity but it could be a sellout as only one section of seats will have same-day tickets available. Everything else is sold out. If you’re going to stay up late in the US to watch plan on a most or all-nighter as I anticipate this event will run close to 3 hours, not including a pre-match press conference with the EVE talent and title signing ceremonies to stream FOR FREE on YouTube one hour before the event before the event. You can also watch until the end of the first match on YouTube.

Today’s lineup:
Moka Miyamoto & Juria Nagano vs. Arisu Endo & Kaya Toribami
Yuki Kamifuku, Mahiro Kiryu & Neko Haruna vs. Nao Kakuta, Yuna Manase & Yoshiko Hasegawa
Suzume vs. Ryo Mizunami
Mizuki vs. Hyper Misao
Aja Kong, Raku & Pom Harajuku vs. Yuki Aino, Rika Tatsumi & Max The Impaler
Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh vs. Riho & Hikari Noa
International Princess Champion Alex Windsor vs. Miu Watanabe for the title
Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai vs. Leah O’Reilly & Nightshade for the titles
Princess Of Princess Champion Shoko Nakajima vs. Yuka Sakazaki for the title

Updates below will begin at 12:30 AM ET/9:30 PM PT. The pre-event press conference and title match contract signings on TJPW’s YouTube channel will begin at midnight ET/9 PM PT.

9:30 PM PT UPDATE: We are LIVE from Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Your Japanese hosts are Haruo Murata & Reika Saiki. Kagehiro Osano likely will join us later. Your English hosts are Chris Brookes & Baliyan Akki.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event, but if it’s not a legit sellout it’s going to be very close.
UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 1007, a legit sellout. Because vocal cheering was allowed, capacity was only allowed to be 50%.

The matches are scheduled to begin in 30 minutes. The first portion is backstage interviews with the title match participants, although it gets hilarious when Saki Akai & Yuki Arai are interrupted by the wondering Max The Impaler. Haruo Murata sure got scared too. Arai never stopped smiling.

We go back to the ring 10 minutes before start as Sayuri Namba is running around before taking the stage and entering the ring for the opening announcements. It should be noted the opposite-hard camera side of the ring is about right up against the stage, so if they go outside the ring there they’ll be a few feet up on stage. That could be a factor in some matches.
They also introduced two new trainees during this segment.

Up Up Girls performance begins just after 10 PM PT. So we’re about 5-10 minutes from the first match. (Actually not. They’re doing multiple songs, so the first match now won’t begin until at least 10:20 PM PT). But for the second song their new member-to-be joins them.

The matches begin at 10:20 PM PT. Your 3rd host Kagehiro Osano now joins Japanese commentary..

Match 1: Moka Miyamoto & Juria Nagano vs. Arisu Endo & Kaya Toribami. 20 minute time limitResult: Moka Miyamoto & Juria Nagano beat Arisu Endo & Kaya Toribami. Nagano pinned Toribami after a rolling high kick. That’s Nagano’s first career victory!

The YouTube broadcast ends here. WRESTLE UNIVERSE continues.

Match 2: Yuki Kamifuku, Mahiro Kiryu & Neko Haruna vs. Nao Kakuta, Yuna Manase (Ganbare Pro Wrestling) & Yoshiko Hasegawa (Ganbare Pro Wrestling). Sayuri Namba mixes up Manase’s intro with Kakuta and the broadcast introduces Kakuta on-screen as Mahiro Kiryu. I didn’t hear any “YOU F***ED UP!” chants in Japanese though. 20 minute time limit
Result: Nao Kakuta, Yuna Manase & Yoshiko Hasegawa beat Yuki Kamifuku, Mahiro Kiryu & Neko Haruna. Kakuta pinned Haruna after Shiden Kai.

Match 3: Suzume vs. Ryo Mizunami (Independent/Freelancer). 15 minute time limit
Result: Ryo Mizunami beat Suzume

Match 4: Mizuki vs. Hyper Misao. 15 minute time limit. And after it started apparently it became a No DQ match (albeit a hardcore comedy match).
Result: Mizuki beat Hyper Misao. Comedy match.

Quick break for ring cleaning.

Match 5: Aja Kong, Raku & Pom Harajuku vs. Yuki Aino, Rika Tatsumi & Max The Impaler. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Aino, Rika Tatsumi & Max The Impaler beat Aja Kong, Raku & Pom Harajuku. Tatsumi pinned Harajuku after a sliding hip attack (butt bump). Kong & Max kept going at it outside the ring after the match and finally everyone just ran off scared and let them fight. This was far more entertaining than it had any right to be.

Promo video for 10/14 at Shinjuku Face, which will feature an exhibition match that is the culmination of a TV competition series on Japanese TV called “Dream On The Ring”.

Match 6: Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh vs. Riho (All Elite Wrestling) & Hikari Noa. 20 minute time limit
Result: Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh beat Riho & Hikari Noa. Itoh beat Noa with Itoh Deluxe.

Match 7: Miu Watanabe beat International Princess Champion Alex Windsor to win the title. Watanabe becomes the 11th International Princess Champion.

Match 8: Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai beat Leah O’Reilly & Nightshade to retain the titles. Arai pinned Nightshade after Finally. V2 for the champs.

Main Event: Yuka Sakazaki beat Princess Of Princess Champion Shoko Nakajima to win the title. Sakazaki becomes the 11th Princess Of Princess Champion. She also joins Miyu Yamashita as the only 3-time champions.

After the main event, the entire roster gathered on stage for a post-event celebration for the fans and a huge announcement…on March 18, 2023, GRAND PRINCESS returns for a second installment…and this time…ARIAKE ARENA DEBUT! And they’ll also be in action on the biggest day of the year for pro wrestling in Japan with a Korakuen Hall event on January 4, 2023-this is the day New Japan Pro Wrestling runs Japan’s version of WrestleMania at the Tokyo Dome.

The next event is a special “Yume Pro Wrestling-Dream On The Ring” event Friday at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. A special exhibition match between the TV competition show’s participants is scheduled as the final of the series, and all TJPW wrestlers as well as Max The Impaler and Leah O’Reilly will participate. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.

DDT News: Former TJPW Champion Returning as 10/9/22 Guest

DDT has just announced that former Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestler Reika Saiki, one of their top stars in the promotion’s early days, will return next weekend as a special guest commentator for the WRESTLE UNIVERSE broadcast of WRESTLE PRINCESS 3 on 10/9. Saiki, an original member of Up Up Girls and a former Princess Of Princess Champion and Tokyo Princess Cup winner, retired in May after facing Arisu Endo in an exhibition match in her final match. She is now an actress. Saiki will join regular commentators Haruo Murata & Kagehiro Osano in the Japanese broadcast. English commentary will also be available for the event, with DDT star Chris Brookes & Baliyan Akki on commentary.

The event will be held on 10/9 at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, with the WRESTLE UNIVERSE broadcast beginning next Saturday (10/8) at 10 PM PT/1 AM ET.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling Results (9/24/22)

Tokyo Joshi Pro runs the final event today before WRESTLE PRINCESS 3, the promotion’s biggest event of the year (excluding March’s Ryogoku Kokugikan debut). The featured match is an 8-woman tag that will see Princess Of Princess Champion Shoko Nakajima and challenger Yuka Sakazaki on opposite sides before they face off again for the title on 10/9. However, there have been several last-minute changes to the event because Hyper Misao is now off. Coronavirus. She was to have been in the main event. Miu Watanabe is the replacement, which necessitated changing virtually the entire card. It was also previously announced that Mahiro Kiryu is out due to a shoulder injury.

Today’s event will be held at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. With the card now single match heavy, and only 5 matches, this will be a short event with a likely running time of around 1 hour, 45 minutes and maybe as short as 90 minutes.

Today’s current lineup:
Suzume vs. Moka Miyamoto
Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh vs. Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo
Kaya Toribami vs. Yuki Kamifuku
Nao Kakuta vs. Neko Haruna
Shoko Nakajima, Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Yuki AIno vs. Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Raku & Pom Harajuku

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

TJPW Announces Arai End of 2022 Schedule

Tokyo Joshi Pro has just announced what appears to be the Yuki Arai participation schedule for the rest of the year, although it may be too far out to determine December. These dates are subject to change: 10/9 (Tokyo Dome City Hall-WRESTLE PRINCESS 3), 10/29 (Osaka Prefectural Gym 2), 11/13 (Kyoto KBS Hall), 11/27 (Korakuen Hall).

Tokyo Joshi Pro 9/16/22 Results

Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh both missed this event due to overseas excursions.

Match 1: Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta & Kaya Toribami beat Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku. Noa pinned Harajuku with a blizzard suplex hold.

Match 2: Hyper Misao beat Neko Haruna & Yuki Kamifuku in a 3-way by pinning Haruna.

DDT 9/14/22 News (Updated)

Time for a roundup of recent DDT news:
This past weekend in JCW in the US, DDT Extreme Champion Joey Janela successfully defended the title against Beastman in a Body Slam Challenge match. The rule was the first to successfully bodyslam your opponent wins, and Janela managed that. V3 for Janela. Video of the entire event may be available on the Game Changer Wrestling YouTube channel (it was a free livestream).
Former AEW Women's World Champion Riho will be part of Tokyo Joshi Pro's major WRESTLE PRINCESS 3 event on 10/9 at Tokyo Dome City Hall. This is expected to be TJPW's biggest event of the year, although a case can be made for GRAND PRINCESS in March when they ran Ryogoku Kokugikan for the first time.
Ganbare has announced two new events for November-an 11/3 holiday matinee at Yokohama Radiant Hall (11/2 US time) and 11/19 at 2AW Square in Chiba.
The full card for DDT on 10/8 in Chiba was announced and is headlined by a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship match and two DDT-ONLY WE crossover tag matches. One is an intergender tag of Shunma Katsumata & Saki Akai vs. Hibiscus Mii & Kaji Tomato.

UPDATE: AEW star Abadon, previously announced for the 9/16 TJPW event, is now off that event. Visa issues. She was to have faced Moka Miyamoto. Mei Suruga is the replacement. Refunds will be offered. Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh will also miss the event. Both are on another international excursion.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “TJPW INSPIRATION” 9/11/22 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro is holding a special TJPW INSPIRATION event today, the latest in their series of occasional short events focused mostly on comedy matches and outside guest appearances. They’re on the short side with just 4 matches and they usually run only about an hour.

Today’s event will be held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary.

Today’s lineup:
Miyu Yamashita vs. Arisu Endo
Pom Harajuku vs. Neko Haruna
Shoko Nakajima & Moka Miyamoto vs. Dalys & Stephanie Beckel
Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki vs. Pokotan & Demonio Uno

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT.

We are LIVE from Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary. This event video may be only from the hard camera perspective.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event.

The first match will begin shortly. During opening announcements ring announcer/MC Sayuri Namba brought out Suzume. They talked about topics including the next event, when Suzume will face Miu Watanabe for the next International Princess Championship challenger opportunity, and some of the talent today who is visiting from Mexico. If it’s who I think it is, that would be CMLL veteran Dalys. No Up Up Girls performance.

Match 1: Pom Harajuku vs. Neko Haruna. 15 minute time limit
Result: Pom Harajuku beat Neko Haruna

Match 2: Shoko Nakajima & Moka Miyamoto vs. Dalys & Stephanie Beckel (CMLL). 20 minute time limit
Resultt: Dalys & Stephanie Beckel beat Shoko Nakajima 7 Moka Miyamoto. Dalys pinned Miyamoto with La Magistral.

Match 3: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki vs. Pokotan & Demonio Uno. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki beat Pokotan & Demonio Uno. Sakazaki pinned Uno after a diving body press.

Main Event: Miyu Yamashita vs. Arisu Endo. 20 minute time limit
Result: Miyu Yamashita beat Arisu Endo

If you skip the opening segment and Yamashita with microphone after the main event, the matches last just over an hour and alternate between comedy matches and serious wrestling. The first tag match with the CMLL women participating was very intense at times-Dalys taunted Nakajima by pulling her headgear off during her ring entrance. This could become quite a feud between Japan and Mexico. It’s a nice change of pace and easy to watch.

The next event is Friday at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.

UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 155.

DDT News Dump 9/6/22

Lots of DDT Group news today:
First up, Tokyo Joshi Pro has announced the next challengers for Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai-Leah O’Reilly & Nightshade, both from Pro Wrestling EVE in England and both are heavyweights by women’s wrestling standards, so another literally huge test for AA Eye Candy. That match will happen at WRESTLE PRINCESS 3 on 10/9. Nightshade previously appeared in TJPW in 2019, challenging Maki Itoh for the International Princess Championship. O’Reilly spent time just before that in the Sendai Girls promotion.
A match to determine the next challenger for International Princess Champion Alex Windsor will happen on 9/16 at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. It will be Miu Watanabe vs. Suzume. The question then is will the winner go to England for the match like Hikari Noa did, or will Windsor return to Japan? Also, Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh will miss the 9/16 event. Both are headed overseas again.

Now for DDT: On 9/3 in Game Changer Wrestling in the US, Joey Janela successfully defended the DDT Extreme Championship in an 8-man Two Ring Ladder Scramble F**kfest match. V2 for Janela. The event is available as a PPV on FITE but the match likely will be on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at some point in the future.
All-Japan Pro Wresting announced Yukio Naya has been added to their 50th Anniversary event on 9/18 at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. Naya is replacing Ren Ayabe, who is now off due to injury.
Ganbare Pro wrestler Takaki Iwasaki has been added to 10/15 & 10/16 in Hokkaido.
And finally, the details of LiLiCo’s insane “Full refund if boring” plan for the year-ending event at Tokyo Dome City Hall have been announced: The refund window will be up to one hour after the 12/29 event ends, with refunds provided at a special booth by DDT Vice President/wrestler Akito. Fans will have to present their ticket stub from that day and ID and fill out a questionnaire and will only get the ticket price back. If they bought seats that cane with any benefits/goods, those have to get returned too. Same for any giveaway items for WRESTLE UNIVERSE members. No refunds for 25th Anniversary Last Commemorative Seats, which will be a whopping 250,000 yen each (around $1900 US). Other seats will cost 5000-35,000 yen ($40-275 US). So if everyone that could request a refund does, they could lose maybe in the 6 digits US. Tickets go on sale September 18.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “City Circuit-Nagoya Performance” 9/4/22 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues their “City Circuit” series today as part of a busy weekend for wrestling in Nagoya, and since they are in the hometown of all-girl J-pop megagroup SKE48, the group that counts Yuki Arai among its members will have a big presence today. Arai herself will join 4 of her “teammates” for a special live mini-concert during the event, then she and Saki Akai will try and defend the Princess Tag Team Championship against Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu. Both challengers have beaten Arai in recent weeks so the momentum is not on the champions’ side. Can Arai’s teammates help lift AA Eye Candy to a first successful defense? And vocal support will be allowed too so hopefully the fans can cheer Arai on to victory!

Today’s event will be held at Nagoya Congress Center in Nagoya and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese. The commentary team will be Haruo Murata & Kagehiro Osano, with Arai’s fellow SKE48 teammate Marika Tani as a special guest on commentary (she will also be a guest for DDT’s event after this one). Note that the SKE48 performance during the event will be available as part of the on demand replay for only one month after today. Since there is a DDT event shortly after this event it can’t run too long but it will be longer than usual-I anticipate the running time being around 2 1/2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Maki Itoh vs. Arisu Endo
Yuki Aino vs. Nao Kakuta & Neko Haruna in a 3-way
Hikari Noa vs. Moka Miyamoto
Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao vs. Miyu Yamashita & Raku
Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Pom Harajuku vs. Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Suzume
Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu for the titles
SKE48 live performance featuring Yuki Arai and 4 other members. This will probably come around the middle of the event

Refresh the page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT. The live stream is scheduled to launch at 11 PM ET/8 PM PT.

11:15 PM ET UPDATE: Live updates begin now.
We are LIVE from Nagoya Congress Center in Nagoya, Japan. Your hosts are Haruo Murata, Kagehiro Osano & Marika Tani (who is of course wearing a cute Yuki Arai t-shirt to support her SKE48 teammate).

The paid attendance will be announced after the event, but based on advance sales it could be a legit sellout. If not, it’ll be close, so possibly right around 1000. (It’s not a legit sellout, but looks like at least 95% full)

The first match should begin in 25-30 minutes.

The first match begins just after 11:40 PM ET.

Match 1: Maki Itoh vs. Arisu Endo. 15 minute time limit
Result: Maki Itoh beat Arisu Endo

Match 2: Yuki Aino vs. Nao Kakuta & Neko Haruna in a 3-way. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Aino beat Nao Kakuta & Neko Haruna in a 3-way by pinning Haruna.

Time for the SKE48 live mini-concert performance! The first song performed is their hit song “Finally”. No English title for the second song. The third song performed is called “Stand by you”. The vocal crowd is making this an AWESOME performance. I know they’re trying to keep the coronavirus in check but the increase in vocal support allowed at wrestling events in Japan is a big step towards normalcy and restoring an important tradition in the sport. Afterwards, the girls have some fun with ring announcer Sayuri Namba & Miu Watanabe, then Maki Itoh comes out. It’s well known that Itoh is not a fan of Arai in the ring. After this and photo ops for the ringside media, one more song. This concludes the performance, which went just over 20 minutes total. Remember you only have one month to watch this portion of the event on demand! (DDT’s website noted afterwards that Itoh will be MC for the SSKE48 14th Anniversary Festival on 9/25)

And now back to the wrestling…
Match 3: Hikari Noa vs. Moka Miyamoto. 15 minute time limit
Result: Hikari Noa beat Moka Miyamoto

Match 4: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao vs. Miyu Yamashita & Raku. 20 minute time limit
Result: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao beat Miyu Yamashita & Raku. Nakajima pinned Raku with a Northern Lights suplex hold.

Match 5: Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Pom Harajuku vs. Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Suzume. 20 minute time limit
Reslut; Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Suzume beat Yuka Sakazaki, MiUki & Pom Harajuku. Watanabe pinned Harajuku after Teardop.

Main Event: Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu for the titles. 30 minute time limit
Result: Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai beat Mahiro Kiryu & Yuki Kamifuku to retain the titles. Arai pinned Kiryu after Finally. V1 for the champs. And all’s well that ends well in Nagoya today. And in a few hours, Akai will be back going for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship in DDT. Next up: TBA. No challengers emerged and the crowd goes home happy. And best of all, Arai is still a champion.

The next event is a TJPW INSPIRATION event on 9/11 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo, the latest in their series of occasional special events that feature mostly comedy matches and outsider participation and are much shorter events-this one has just 4 matches scheduled, so it will only go about an hour. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Saturday at 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT.

UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 640, a legit sellout. Did I ever grossly overestimate! But they still were just a few empty seats from 100% full, I’d say pess than 20.
