TJPW News: Full TPC Field, Final 7/18 Match

A bit of Tokyo Joshi Pro News:

When the full SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ‘26 card for 7/18 was announced the other dag, they left one gap unfilled-an opponent for Mizuki. She was listed only as facing “Sweet Secret” which was TBA. Now we know that TBA and I like it a lot-the TJPW return of Willow Nightingale, currently in All Elite Wrestling. Okay, mostly because I am both a big fan of the Babe With The Power and because it raises hopes she will squash Mizuki, much to my delight. Anyway, moving on…

Also announced today was the full initial bracket for the Tokyo Princess Cup, determined by random draw. With 24 participants that means 8 Round 1 matches and 8 get free passes to Round 2. Here’s how those first 2 rounds look, with all Round 1 matches on 7/20:
1-Uta Takami vs. Miyu Yamashita. Winner faces Rika Tatsumi
2-Raku vs. Mizuki. Winner faces Hyper Misao
3-Arisu Endo vs. Sakura Hattori. Winner faces Chika Nanase
4-Wakana Uehara vs. Mifu Ashida. Winner faces HIMAWARI
That’s the left half. Here is the right half:
5-Toga vs. Momo Sato. Winner faces Mahiro Kiryu
6-Miu Watanabe vs. Ren Konatsu. Winner faces Yuki Aino
7-Suzume vs. Shion Kanzaki. Winner faces Pom Harajuku
8-Haru Kazashiro vs. Yuki Arai. Winner faces Shoko Nakajima
Round 2 will be 7/25 for the left half, 7/30 for the right half. The Quarterfinals will be on 8/8. Then they re-draw for the Semifinals on 8/16. The Finals are on 8/23. All matches until after the Quarterfinals will be 30 minute time limit. Semifinals & Finals are no time linit. The winner will presumably face the Princess Of Princess Champion for the title at WRESTLE PRINCESS 7 later this year, we should know after 7/18 if that’s Yuki Arai or Miyu Yamashita. Of course if one of then wins as champion who knows what happens. As a reminder, Kira Summer & Yuki Kamifuku are not participating this year-Summer is returning home to Australia for her first wrestling tour there, Kamifuku elected not to enter after announcing her upcoming retirement. The other nonparticipants are long-term inactive (Runa Okubo [focusing on education] & Shino Suzuki [medical]).
