Tokyo Joshi Pro 7/27/23 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro held a special summer athletic competition today, a break from traditional wrestling for a variety of unusual and comedy-themed activities with everyone divided into two teams for the unique event.

Today’s event was held at Sugamiku Resort Pleasure Forest in Kanagawa and is available on demand as a PPV on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. The event can be purchased until 8/2 and is available for 3500 Japanese yen (around $26) for non-monthly subscribers and 2800 yen (around $20) for monthly paying subscribers. It may be available to all paying subscribers at a later date (probably October at the earliest).

This was a closed event with no fans in attendance. The format was 5 events with 1 point for the winners, most points at the end wins.

Match 1: In a Falls Count Anywhere match, Rika Tatsumi, Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta (Red Team) beat Pom Harajuku, Suzume & Yuki Arai (White Team). Tatsumi pinned Harajuku after Twist Of Fate.

Match 2: In a Spider Climbing Competition, where apparently the most combined distance climbed wins (and it was teams simultaneous and fighting each other), Mizuki, Miu Watanabe & Kaya Toribami (White Team) beat Yuki Aino, Moka Miyamoto & Arisu Endo 31.4 meters-22.9 meters.

Match 3: In a Steel Maze Battle, a series of 3 single battles where the first to escape a multi-level structure won, Raku, Nao Kakuta & Hyper Misao (Red Team) beat Suzume, Mahiro Kiryu & Yuki Kamifuku (White Team) 2-1.

Match 4: In a Sumo Pushing competition held in a small cage high above the ground (everyone was tethered to bungee cords and had to walk across suspension bridges to reach the structure), Red Team beat White Team 2-1. Nao Kakuta (Red) beat Pin Harajuku (White), Miu Watanabe (White) beat Moka Miyamoto (Red), Raku (Red) beat Yuka Sakazaki (White).

Main Event: In a Cavalry Deathmatch, pitting the entire teams against one another and the first to claim the opponent’s leader’s headband was the winner, White Team beat Red Team. The leaders were Yuki Arai & Moka Miyamoto, Arai won by claiming Miyamoto’s headband. White got 1 million points for winning and won the competition 1 million-3.

As a reward for winning, the White team got to enjoy a luxurious BBQ and party afterwards. And Arai being the big winner at the end made me very happy of course.

The next event is Saturday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo for the Tokyo Princess Cup Quarterfinals. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET. Live results will be posted here.
