All-Japan hosted a 45th Anniversary event today for legendary wrestler Shiro Koshinaka, one of a number of Japanese legends who continue to compete well into their 60s and beyond.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV. Atsuki Aoyagi, who is currently out due to injury, was a special guest on commentary.
The announced paid attendance was 1349, possibly a full house/near sellout as most tickets sold out in advance.
Pre-show: Actress Girls match & segment: Marino Saihara & Sakura Mizushima beat Nene & Mari Arihata. Mizushima pinned Nene with a Northern Lights suplex hold.
Match 1: Ryo Inoue & Takao Omori beat Hikaru Sato & Ryuji Hijikata. Inoue pinned Hijikata with a Daikannon suplex hold.
Match 2: Dan Tamura & Hideki Suzuki beat Kumaarashi & Hartley Jackson. Tamura pinned Jackson with La Magistral.
Match 3: Yuma Anzai, Ryuki Honda, Rising Hayato & Ren Ayabe beat Jun & Rei Saito, Naruki Doi & Senor Saito. Anzai pinned Senor Saito after Gimlet.
Match 4: Hokuto Omori & Cyrus beat Mitsuya Nagai (Dradition) & Minoru Tanaka (GLEAT). Cyrus pinned Nagai after a reverse splash.
Match 5: Kento Miyahara, MUSASHI & Seiki Yoshioka beat Tatsumi Fujinami, LEONA (Dradition) & Tatsuhito Takaiwa (Independent/Freelancer). Miyahara pinned Takaiwa with a shutdown suplex hold.
Main Event: Shiro Koshinaka 45th Anniversary Match: Shiro Koshinaka, Ryusuke Taguchi (New Japan), Kengo Mashimo (Independent/Freelancer) & Yuma Aoyagi beat Suwama, Shotaro Ashino, Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Seigo Tachibana. Koshinaka pinned Tachibana after a powerbomb.
After the main event, a 45th Anniversary celebration was held for Koshinaka. Guests includes Geni’chiro Tenryu, Kendo Kobayashi, The Great Kabuki and Kenta Kobashi among others.
The next event is 8/31 at Hiroshima Marine Hop in Hiroshima. There will be no live broadcast.
