Dragon Gate’s latest mid-major event, THE GATE OF ORIGIN 2024, was held earlier today.
Today’s event was held at Sendai Sun Festa in Sendai and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK.
The announced paid attendance was 820.
There were last-minute changes to the card due to Luis Mante being removed from the card. Neck injury. Said to be minor. It’s not known how long he may be out.
Match 1: Ben-K & Mochizuki Junior beat Madoka Kikuta & Hyo. Ben-K pinned Hyo after a spear.
Match 2: ISHIN beat Ryu Fuda.
Match 3: Dragon Kid, Susumu Yokosuka & Kagetora beat Ultimo Dragon, Yasushi Kanda & Daiki Yanagiuchi. Kagetora pinned Yanagiuchi.
Match 4: Gianni Valetta beat Riiita.
Match 5: Shun Skywalker, Kota Minoura, KAI, Jason Lee & Homare beat YAMATO, BxB Hulk, Kzy, Mondai Ryu (who I keep mistakenly calling Problem Dragon) & Punch Tominaga. Minoura pinned Tominaga.
Match 6: Open The Triangle Gate Champions Strong Machine J, BIGBOSS Shimizu & U-T beat Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii & Toru Owashi to retain the titles. Shimizu pinned Mochizuki after Shot Put Slam. V5 for the champs.
Main Event: Open The Brave Gate Champion Dragon Dia beat JACKY KAMEI to retain the title. V2 for Dia.
The next event is Saturday at Tokai Municipal Gym in Aichi. There will be no live or on demand broadcast.
