It’s well-known that Dragon Gate wrestler Don Fujii was a sumo wrestler before turning to pro wrestling-and if you didn’t know, look up the Otake Beya YouTube channel and watch videos they posted earlier this year when they hosted Fujii and other wrestlers. Shiko (foot stomping) is an essential sumo exercise and I thought he was letting up because the promotion has announced he is injured. Knee, possibly aggravated a prior injury. Out indefinitely but at least tomorrow. Card changes have already been made-he was to have teamed with Homare, Ho Ho Lun & Tristan Moody to face Ryoya Tanaka, Genki Horiguchi, KAGETORA & Problem Dragon. They’ve essentially re-done almost the entire card as a result. It’s not yet known how long Fujii may be out but he was not scheduled for the next 2 events afterwards on Sunday and Monday (the latter being their final Shinjuku Face event). He is scheduled for Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival on 7/20 so wait and see there.
