Ganbare Pro 6/22/25 Results

Ganbare Pro results haven’t been easy to come by this year as the promotion doesn’t always post them. But they did for their latest event this Sunday.

Sunday’s event was held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. (As usual there was no live broadcast but the on demand video was made available earlier today)

The announced paid attendance was 196.

Match 1: Ken Ohka & Chou-un Shiryu beat Shinichiro Tominaga & Ali Najima. Ohka pinned Najima after Flame Spear.

Match 2: Keisuke Ishii beat Shodai Kawakami.

Match 3: Shuichiro Katsunura beat Tanomusaku Toba by ref stoppage (technical submission).

Match 4: Yoshiko Hasegawa Final Ganbare Match: Moeka Haruhi, Yuna Manase & Bunny Oikawa beat Yoshiko Hasegawa, YuuRI & Riara. Manase pinned Hasegawa after Suzuki Dynamic. Hasegawa left Ganbare last year to join Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling and is retiring in a couple weeks. HARUKAZE was special ring announcer for this match.

Match 5: Mizuki Watase beat Munetatsu Nakamura by TKO (ref stoppage-towel).

Main Event: Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Champion Yumehito Imanari beat Tyson Maeguchi to retain the title. V5 for Imanari.

The next event is 7/19. There will be no live broadcast. It will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE a few days after the event.

TJPW News: TPC Qualifier Finals, July US Broadcast Plans (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro held a press conference in Tokyo today to draw the pairings for the Tokyo Princess Cup Qualifier Tournament last 4 matches. The winners of each match will advance to the main tournament to fill out the field of 16. The matches turned out as follows: Moka Miyamoto vs. Kaya Toribami, Haru Kazashiro vs. Ivy Steele, Wakana Uehara vs. Shino Suzuki and Pom Harajuku vs. HIMAWARI. The matches will happen on 7/5 and/or 7/8 depending on the other matches for each event (all TBA).

Elsewhere, it was announced the July US events in Texas will be streamed LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. No PPVs. But they caution this is a “trial” broadcast and may or may not work as planned depending on technical limitations including internet reception at the venue. The events are scheduled for 7/10 & 7/11 in Houston (4:30 PM PT/7:30 PM ET both days) and 7/13 in Dallas (10:30 AM PT/1:30 PM ET).

UPDATE: Well that was a short goodbye…much to my, and surely many fans’ delight, the promotion announced that Sayuri Namba’s goodbye was for…barely a month. While she does leave Japan for Canada after a book signing event today (6/26 Japan time), she will return for the US July events as the ring announcer. This was definitely an option when her departure was announced.

Also, I misstated the new ring announcer’s name recently in results posts. It is Rise Shirai, not Rise Suzuki.

All-Japan 6/24/25 Results

All-Japan ran a standalone “Baka Era vs. Hokuto Army” faction warfare event today, featuring only wrestlers from those two groups. So no main units, no Saitos, etc.

Today’s event was held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV.

The announced paid attendance was 308. For the first time in who knows how long it was not a sellout at the venue. (While it’s max capacity is 600 most events have been capped at 350-400 post-pandemic)

Match 1: Talos beat Seigo Tachibana.

Match 2: Hikaru Sato & Funinori Abe beat Jack Kennedy & Aizawa No. 1. Abe beat 1.

Match 3: Hideki Suzuki, Kengo Mashimo (Independent/Freelancer) & Yuko Miyamoto beat Aja Kong (OZ Academy), Kumaarashi & Takashi (Dragon Gate). Suzuki pinned Takashi.

Main Event: Yuma Aoyagi vs. Hokuto Omori went to a no contest. Out of control after ref bumps. Baka Era wins the final confrontation. Aoyagi saying this ended the event led to heavy boos from the crowd. Which led to after a short break…

Special Match: Aja Kong won a 18 person battle royal, last eliminating Yuma Aoyagi & Hokuto Omori. Even the 3 referees for the event participated.

After the battle royal ended, Hideki Suzuki addressed the crowd and asked for everyone’s support (both fans in attendance and those watching on AJPW.TV) of Taishin Nagao, who was seriously injured in an accident involving one of the promotion’s buses last month. All-Japan’s latest status update yesterday was he remains hospitalized in intensive care with severe abdominal injuries. Yuma Aoyagi then led the crowd in a support cheer for Nagao while expressing hopes for an eventual return for the young rookie.

During the promotion’s now-summer break updates on Nagao will be provided when/if they are made available.

The next event is 7/17 at Korakuen Hall to start the Summer Action Series 2025 tour. Live streaming on AJPW.TV will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET. (Except for 7/20 all 5 July events will be streamed live on the service. 7/20 will be on demand later that day)

New Japan 6/24/25 Results

New Japan held an El Desperado Produced independent event today dubbed “DEATH PAIN INVITACIONAL”.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand as a PPV on New Japan World outside Japan for $22.99 US. Purchase includes unlimited on demand replays until July 31, 2025. You can also watch a pre-show match FOR FREE on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 1481, a legit sellout.

Pre-show match: Daiki Nagai, Katsuya Murashima, Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi beat Dragon Libre, Kengo, GENTARO & Tatsuhito Takaiwa. Taguchi beat Libre with Oh My & Gar Ankle.

Match 1: Mammoth Sasaki & Takashi Sasaki beat Gedo & Taiji Ishimori. Takashi Sasaki pinned Gedo after D. Geist.

Match 2: Kosei Fujita beat Jun Masaoka.

Match 3: In a hardcore match, Kenji Gukumoto & Seiji Takeda beat Rina Yamashita & Suzu Suzuki. Takeda pinned Yamashita after Reverse U Crush.

Match 4: Toru Sugiura & Boltin Oleg beat Tomoya Hirata & Toru Yano. Sugiura pinned Hirata after Swift Driver.

Main Event: In a Fluorescent Lighttubes & Glass Board Death Match, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado beat Jun Kasai to retain the title. V6 for Desperado. Next up: Presumably Fujita, who is awaiting his shot for winning Best Of The Super Junior. After this match, Kasai invited everyone to the next DEATH PAIN INVITACIONAL. Which will be in 2035…

The next event is Thursday at Chino Civic Center Multi-Hall in Nagano to continue the New Japan Soul 2025 Tour. There will be no live or on demand broadcast. In fact, the New Japan World broadcasts are finished for June, no live or on demand scheduled again until July 4. Remember the TANAHASHI JAM event this Sunday is only available in Japan and only on TV Asahi. But after that it’s the G1 CLIMAX and then a Yuji Nagata Produced event so everything should be live & on demand from July through mid-September.

It was also announced that TV Asahi will have a live broadcast of Tokyo Dome on 1/4/26, the first time in 22 years the network has broadcast New Japan’s biggest annual event live in Japan. It will be available outside Japan on New Japan World.

In other news, Togi Makabe participation in DDT was also announced today for that promotion’s 7/27 event for what will be a HARASHIMA 24th Anniversary match in his hometown at Sumitomo Metal Mining Arena Ome Sports Hall 1 in Tokyo. That match will be Makabe, HARASHIMA & Yasu Utano vs. Shuji Ishikawa, Shinya Aoki & Akito. That match may be available on New Japan World at some point but will also be available to watch on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 6/23/25 Results

Pro Wrestling NOAH wrapped up MONDAY Magic Prime Time Season today with the season finale.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The paid attendance has not been announced.

Match 1: GHC National Champion Galeno beat Alpha Wolf to retain the title. V2 for Galeno.

Match 2: Manabu Soya & Junta Miyawaki beat Tetsuya Endo & Daiki Odashima. Miyawaki pinned Odashima after a sunshine suplex.

Match 3: Eita beat MAZADA.

Match 4: Mirei Aono, Miyuki Takase & ? beat Takumi Iroha, Great Sakuya & ? by DQ. Sakuya DQ’d. Mist spraying.

Match 5: In a street fight, KENTA beat Maybach Taniguchi (Shuhei Taniguchi). This is from when Taniguchi was masked/face painted and was a heel back in the 2000s/2010s before the Funky Express run and, more recently, back to his plain old self. Maybach did provide Taniguchi with the best results of his career including championships.

Main Event: Kaito Kiyomiya, Titus Alexander, Dragon Bane & Archie Cole beat Ulka Sasaki, Ryan Clancy, Danny Duggan & Robert Marter. Alexander pinned Clancy after Big Ugly.

The next event is WRESTLE MAGIC 2025, which may be a NOSAWA Rongai Produced event, on 6/30 at Shinagawa Stella Ball at Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo. The first 2 matches were announced today: GHC Women’s Champion Takumi Iroha vs. Victoria Yuzuki for the title and GHC Hardcore Champion Shuji Ishikawa vs. HAYATA for the title. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2:45 AM PT/5:45 AM ET.

Injury Report: Latest Taishin Nagao Update

All-Japan has provided another brief update on the condition of rookie Taishin Nagao, who has been hospitalized since being hit by the promotion’s transport bus on 5/31. The latest update does not sound good…according to translation, he is in the emergency intensive care unit under “unpredictable circumstances due to traumatic shock caused by abdomen compression”. No further details were provided but it sounds extremely worrying.

After an emergency press conference earlier today, New Japan continued the New Japan Soul 2025 Tour in Tokyo.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on New Japan World. This was also a Samurai! TV broadcast in Japan.

The announced paid attendance was 1110.

Match 1: Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Zane Jay went to a 10 minute time limit draw.

The next event is “DEATH PAIN Invitacio” tomorrow. This is an El Desperado Produced event headlined by Desperado vs. Jun Kasai in a Fluorescent Light Tubes & Glass Board Death Match for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Live streaming on New Japan World as a PPV will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET, however there is a pre-show match scheduled for 20 minutes before the event. The PPV is available for pre-order for $22.99 US outside Japan. In addition to the live broadcast, it will be available for purchase and on demand replays until July 31 (subject to change). It will be Japanese commentary only.

DEVELOPING: Judo Olympic Medalist Joins New Japan

At an emergency press conference held earlier today (late last night US time), New Japan announced the signing of Aaron Wolf by the promotion. Wolf, a Japanese-American, won gold medals for Japan at the pandemic-delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2017 World Judo Championships and is also the only judoka of American descent to win the All-Japan Judo Championship. President Hiroshi Tanahashi stated he hopes Wolf will make his New Japan debut at Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2026, the same day he will retire. Wolf added he started watching New Japan while in college and wanted to become a pro wrestler after retiring from judo. We’ll see if that debut does happen as hoped for in about 6 months.

That now means 5 total title matches are set for the promotion’s biggest annual event.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 6/22/25 Results

Pro Wrestling NOAH continued the SUNNY VOYAGE 2025 Tour today in Nagoya, with a first-time visit to a new-to-them venue.

Today’s event was held at Lives Nagoya in Nagoya and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date (Tuesday). There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 453.

There were last-minute changes to the announced card due to Masa Kitamiya being off the event. Requested after yesterday’s event for personal reasons.

Match 2: Alejandro & Kai Fujimura beat Eita & Super Crazy. Alejandro pinned Crazy with La Magistral.
