DDT Pro Wrestling 12/21/25 LIVE Results (Updated x2)

DDT runs their final Tokyo signature event of 2025 today, RING FINALE 2025, which is a misleading title because it’s not the final event of the year. But it’s the last big one loaded with 3 title matches. First up, To-y defends the DDT Extreme Championship against Yasu Urano in a “Finish it now!! If you can’t do it now, To-y loses!!” match where a lottery is held every 2 minutes and, after that, the match can only be won by pinfall or submission using that specific technique picked from social media (except for ring outs and DQs). And it’s only 10 minutes plus if it goes the distance, Urano wins the title. The second title match is MAO & KANON defending the KO-D Tag Team Championship against the outside intruding team of Jun Masaoka & Gaia Hox. Finally, in the main event Yuki Ueno defends the KO-D Openweight Championship against Takeshi Masada (this is not a double title match).

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese. Aya Shibata, a former member of SKE48 who is currently a freelance announcer, will be the special guest on commentary. There is a pre-show match scheduled before the event, and the Extreme rules may shorten the running time a bit, however I anticipate with the pre-show match it will have a total running time of about 3 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Pre-show:
Takao Soma, Kazuma Sumi & Yuni vs. Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Daichi Sato & Rukiya
Main show:
Minoru Suzuki & Akito vs. Jun Akiyama & Yuya Koroku
Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani, Demus & Illusion vs. Toru Owashi, Danshoku Dieno, Super Sasadango Machine & Kazuki Hirata
Shinya Aoki, Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya vs. Kazusada Higuchi, Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida and Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda & Hinata Kasai in a 3-way
Yuji Nagata (New Japan) & Sanshiro Takagi vs. HARASHIMA & Kaisei Takechi
DDT Extreme Champion To-y vs. Yasu Urano in a Finish it now!! If you can’t do it now, To-y loses!! match for the title. a lottery is held every 2 minutes and, after that, the match can only be won by pinfall or submission using that specific technique picked from social media (except for ring outs and DQs). If the match goes to a 10 minute time limit draw, Urano wins the title
KO-D Tag Team Champions MAO & KANON vs. Jun Masaoka & Gaia Hox for the titles
KO-D Openweight Champion Yuki Ueno vs. Takeshi Masada for the title

Match 5: DDT Extreme Champion To-y vs. Yasu Urano in a Finish it now!! If you can’t do it now, To-y loses!! match for the title. a lottery is held every 2 minutes and, after that, the match can only be won by pinfall or submission using that specific technique picked from social media (except for ring outs and DQs). If the match goes to a time limit draw, Urano wins the title. 10 minute time limit

Result: KO-D Openweight Champion Yuki Ueno beat Takeshi Masada to retain the title. V4 for Ueno. Next up: Sasaki. Low blow to deliver his message then a beatdown until Brookes made the save. And bitch slapped Ueno for good measure. Following some bantering, Akito made it official-the next defense will be a 3-way. And for both titles with multiple falls is what it sounds like.

The next event is Wednesday at Shinjuku Face. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET.

UPDATE: Both title matches hinted at above will happen on 1/25. The 3-way will be an Irregular 2 Falls Double Title match-the first fall will be for the DDT Universal Championship, then the second fall will be for the KO-D Openweight Championship. Kaisei Takechi participation was also announced for 1/25.

UPDATE 2: In post-event backstage comments, it was revealed that Masada announced he will leave the Shadenfreude International faction after the 1/3 Korakuen event. That means it’ll be just Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda for now (and Masa Takanashi who remains out).

Naturally I’ve browsed the list already so below are the top ranked teams and how various Japan-based teams fared.

Because this is only in digital format and the print edition will not be out for another 3 weeks or so, those waiting for the latter should stop here to avoid SPOILERS! Otherwise, click below.

DEVELOPING: Tokyo Sports Award Winners Announced

Tokyo Sports has announced their annual Pro Wrestling Award winners for 2025 on social media. Here are the winners:
MVP (top prize): Saya Kamitani, Stardom (First time ever a woman has won)
Match Of The Year: Kaito Kiyomiya vs. OZAWA, Pro Wrestling NOAH, 1/1/2025
Best Tag Team: OSKAR (The Grouch) & Yuto Ice (Ice Baby), New Japan
Special Achievement Award: Konosuke Takeshita, New Japan/DDT/All Elite Wrestling
Fighting Spirit Award: Sareee, Independent/Freelancer
Technique Prize: Hiroshi Tanahashi, New Japan
Women’s Grand Prize: Kamitani
Rookie Of The Year: Kaisei Takechi, DDT

Quick thoughts on the MVP: In my eyes there were only two real right choices-Kamitani and Takeshita. Either was a right choice but they nicely chose to recognize 2025 as the year of our PHENEX QUEEN in Stardom, and she undoubtedly was the top Japanese women’s wrestler in Japan (not counting the obvious ones that are on WWE or AEW full-time), but you can’t overlook everything Takeshita has accomplished between Japan and the US, that said his not being in Japan as much could have shifted the balance towards Kamitani but that Special Achievement for Takeshita is well-deserved. Rookie is a toss-up, Takechi no doubt was the most popular and with the biggest impact on DDT but one can only wonder what could have been had we not lost All-Japan rookie Taishin Nagao.
