AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 Results (5/29/22)

What is considered AEW’s biggest annual PPV takes place tonight as Double Or Nothing returns to Las Vegas for the 4th edition of the annual extravaganza, which has become embroiled in controversy surrounding rumors that MJF was about to be sent home last night after missing fanfest events, but he’s seemingly there tonight as his constant playing up his free agency in 2024 may have gone too far and this could be the beginning of the end as AEW’s impending loss could be a potential huge gain for WWE. But there is much more at stake tonight with almost every title up for grabs, headlined by Adam Page defending the AEW World Championship against CM Punk in the main event.

Today’s event will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV and can be watched LIVE on PPV and streamed live on Bleacher Report in the US and FITE outside of the US. A FREE pre-show will stream on YouTube one hour before the PPV and there is plenty (at least 2 hours) of free preview content available on AEW’s YouTube channel.

Main Event: Owen Hart Cup Semifinals: Samoa Joe beat Kyle O’Reilly by ref stoppage. As a result, Joe advances to the Finals and will face Adam Cole.

Because of NHL Playoffs, namely St. Louis rallying from left for dead to force a Game 6 against Colorado tomorrow (they were down 3-0 halfway in and came back to win 5-4 in overtime), tomorrow’s LIVE Rampage is moved up from 10 PM ET to 6:30 PM ET/3:30 PM PT on TNT because TNT has the game tomorrow night at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. A PPV preview special is expected to follow Rampage.

BREAKING: 5/14 New Japan Event Changes

In a development with AEW ramifications, New Japan just announced Trent Beretta is now off tomorrow’s Capital Collision event. Coronavirus. He was to have teamed with Kazuchika Okada to face Jay White & Hikuleo. Rocky Romero is the replcement, meaning there are other card changes:
Romero was in a 10-man tag and will now be replaced by The DKC, who was to have faced Kevin Knight in a non-televised pre-show match. Nick Comoroto is the replacement.

This development likely means Trent can’t be at AEW’s events next week in Houston.

AEW Rampage 5/13/22 Results

AEW Rampage aired at a special earlier time today due to NHL Playoffs. Here are quick results from today’s show (5/13/22):

AEW TNT Champion Scorpio Sky beat Frankie Kazarian to retain the title. Screwjob win thanks to Ethan Page & Dan Lambert. Next up may be yet another Sammy Guevara rematch.

Next week’s air time is TBA at this time.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 4/30/22 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro wrapped up their April schedule with their almost-regular Saturday matinee event, which also was the final event before their next major event next week.
Today’s event was held at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.
The announced paid attendance was 155. Whoa, 2 straight KFC non-sellouts.
Before the matches, the contract signings for the 5/3 title matches were held. Also, as previously announced, Pom Harajuku missed today’s event due to family circumstances.
Match 1: Suzume beat Kaya Toribami.
Match 2: Yuki Aino beat Arisu Endo.
Match 3: Raku beat Rika Tatsumi & Neko Haruna in a 3-way by pinning Haruna. Tatsumi losing a 3-way these days is always an UPSET ALERT!
Match 4: Maki Itoh beat Moka Miyamoto by submission.
Match 5: Miyu Yamashita & Miu Watanabe beat Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu. Watanabe pinned Kiryu after Kick and Kabom!
Main Event: Hyper Misao, Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta beat Shoko Nakajima, Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki. Misao pinned Nakajima after Vanitas.
The next event is “YES! WONDERLAND 2022-Spread the wings of your dreams”, their annual Golden Week major event, Tuesday at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Monday at 10:30 PM ET/7:30 PM PT. All Elite Wrestling superstar Hikaru Shida will return for her 3rd TJPW appearance this year as part of the event.
Post-event news: Yuka Sakazaki is now off Thursday’s (5/5) event at Osaka Prefectural Gym #2. All Elite Wrestling wants her back next week so she’s returning to the US after Tuesday. If she retains the Princess Tag Team Championship Tuesday, there will be a substitute announced for Thursday. It might be a close call on time because she would have to fly from Tokyo to Baltimore, MD on Tuesday and AEW Dynamite is Wednesday, so we’ll see (AEW Rampage on Friday will be TAPED on Wednesday).
Yuna Manase vs. Mahiro Kiryu has been added to Thursday.
