Some All-Japan news to kick off July:

Effective today, Yuji Shindo has joined All-Japan and will be the new ring announcer going forward. Shindo, 41, has been a ring announcer for 16 years and most recently was a freelancer.

Several title matches have been announced for this month’s events:
On 7/20, All-Asia Tag Team Champions MUSASHI & Seiki Yoshioka will defend the titles against Naruki Doi & TBA, identified as “S”. This “S” is a new member of the Saito Brothers group with Jun & Rei Saito and Doi.
On 7/13 there will be 3 title matches: All-Japan World Tag Team Champions Jun & Rei Saito vs. Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi for the titles and the previously announced matches of All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Rising Hayato vs. Naruki Doi for the title and Yuma Anzai vs. Suwama for the Triple Crown.

Also, while not a title match, Rising Hayato vs. Kento Miyahara has been announced for 7/20 as Hayato is leaving the NEXTREAM faction to form his own group, ELPIDA, with Ryuki Honda, Yuma Anzai & Ren Ayabe.

All-Japan Pro Wrestling 6/9/24 Results

All-Japan continues the Super Power Series 2024 today with an event in Gifu, and it’s at least a mid-major event with 2 title matches scheduled. First up is an All-Asia Tag Team Championship match, with the titles finally back in the promotion’s possession after a long time mostly residing in DDT or, to the PWF’s dread, in the clutches of Atsushi Onita which meant title matches were often exploding death matches or similar. But it may not be much better as the comedy duo of Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Seigo Tachibana are the challengers for new champions Dan Tamura & Hikaru Sato. In the main event, Fuminori Abe once again challenges for the All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Championship-after coming up short against Dan Tamura the first time he’ll try to build on recent tag team wins over current champion Rising Hayato and win the title today.

Today’s event will be held at Juroku Plaza in Gifu and can be watched LIVE on AJPW.TV. It’s not known if there will be any commentary. It’s a lean card with only 6 matches scheduled and all non-title matches have a 30 minute time limit (1 Hour for title matches), so I’ll predict the event will probably run close to 2 1/2 hours. For the first hour or so I’ll be also watching the Tokyo Joshi Pro event so I may be slightly behind until that event wraps up.

Today’s lineup (in order):
Jun & Rei Saito & Naruki Doi vs. Hartley Jackson, Seiki Yoshioka & Kumaarashi
All-Asia Tag Team Champions Hikaru Sato & Dan Tamura vs. Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Seigo Tachibana for the titles
Shotaro Ashino & Hiroki Murase vs. Hokuto Omori & Jack Kennedy
Kento Miyahara & MUSASHI vs. Palou & Odinson
Yuma Anzai, Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe vs. Suwama, Yuma Aoyagi & Hideki Suzuki
All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Rising Hayato vs. Fuminori Abe for the title

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 9 PM PT/midnight ET.

8:58 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Juroku Plaza in Gifu. Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s hard to tell the capacity from the hard camera view From what I can see the layout is on the small side, It looks like a setup for maybe close to 500 but I’m guessing it’ll be closer to 400. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 573. Got a much better look at the hard camera seating in the 4th match, there was more than expected)

The matches begin after a couple of announcements. Seems like everyone’s entrance music is muted today, maybe because we’re not in Tokyo and not on TV in Japan.

Match 1: Jun & Rei Saito & Naruki Doi (Independent/Freelancer) vs. Hartley Jackson, Seiki Yoshioka & Kumaarashi (Independent/Freelancer). 30 minute time limit
Result: Jun & Rei Saito & Naruki Doi beat Hartley Jackson, Seiki Yoshioka & Kumaarashi. Rei Saito pinned Kumaarashi,

Match 2: All-Asia Tag Team Champions Hikaru Sato & Dan Tamura vs. Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Seigo Tachibana for the titles. 1 Hour time limit
Result: All-Asia Tag Team Champions Hikaru Sato & Dan Tamura beat Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Seigo Tachibana to retain the titles. Tamura pinned Tachibana after a powerbomb. V1 for the champs.

Match 3: Shotaro Ashino & Hiroki Murase vs. Hokuto Omori & Jack Kennedy. 30 minute time limit
Result: Shotaro Ashino & Hiroki Murase beat Hokuto Omori & Jack Kennedy. Ashino beat Omori with a heel hook.

Intermission (9:58 PM PT). Updates will resume in a few minutes.

The matches resume at 10:10 PM PT.

Match 4: Kento Miyahara & MUSASHI (Michinoku Pro) vs. Palou & Odinson. 30 minute time limit
Result: Palou & Odinson beat Kento Miyahara & MUSAASHI. Odinson pinned MUSASHI.

Match 5: Yuma Anzai, Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe vs. Suwama, Yuma Aoyagi & Hideki Suzuki. 30 minute time limit
Result: Suwama, Yuma Aoyagi & Hideki Suzuki beat Yuma Anzai, Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe. Suwama pinned Honda after a backdrop. Suzuki choked out Anzai post-match.

Main Event: All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Rising Hayato vs. Fuminori Abe for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Rising Hayato beat Fuminori Abe to retain the title. V3 for Hayato

Maybe because it was an event outside Tokyo but the amount of muting for music was insanely ridiculous. Everyone except Miyahara & Suwama, by my count, had their themes muted on live.

The next event is Monday at Nanao City Tazuruhama Gym in Ishikawa for a Noto Peninsula earthquake charity fundraiser event. There will be no live broadcast. It is scheduled to be available on demand the following day and will be available FOR FREE to all AJPW.TV members including non-paid subscribers.
