Pro Wrestling NOAH 3/2/24 Results

GREAT VOYAGE 2024 in NAGOYA, the late-winter edition of Pro Wrestling NOAH’s signature event series, is in the books.

Today’s event was held at Nagoya Congress Center in Nagoya and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. As usual with the big events, this was an ABEMA exclusive broadcast so the live stream was English only outside Japan and edited/clipped at the start and end. You can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube, No Stewart Fulton on English commentary today, just regular co-host Mark Pickering and, when he wasn’t doing his day job, now-full time NOAH ring announcer G-Man.

The announced paid attendance was 809. It didn’t look like they used the full capacity setup for the venue, which is 3000, but even if they used the smaller Event Hall (1800) or the even smaller third vemue space (1400), this still sounds like their usual weak big event numbers.

Match 1; Ninja Mack beat Alejandro.

Match 2; Akitoshi Saito & Hi69 beat Hajime Ohara & Junta Miyawaki. Saito pinned Miyawaki after Sickle Of Death.

Match 3: Naomichi Marufuji, Yoshinari Ogawa & Super Crazy beat Jack Morris, Anthony Greene & YO-HEY. Ogawa pinned YO-HEY.

Main Event: Victory Challenge Tag League: Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa beat Takashi Sugiura & Ulka Sasaki. Kiyomiya beat Sasaki with a Figure 4.

The next event is tomorrow at Toyama Techno Hall in Toyama. There will be no live broadcast.

Today’s event was held at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 2/23/24 Results (Updated)

Pro Wrestling NOAH continues the never-ending STAR NAVIGATION 2024 Tour today with a rare weekday matinee, which actually makes for very convenient live viewing for US fans as a result. In addition to serving as build for the upcoming Victory Challenge Tag League, there are 2 title matches headlining the event. First, since GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Jack Morris & Anthony Greene won’t be defending the titles for a while (until after the tag league), Greene decided to challenge Morris for the GHC National Championship in the meantime so the champs will face off for the “Red belt”. After that, their factionmates, YO-HEY & Tadasuke, will defend the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in the main event against the odd couple pairing of HAYATA & Eita, who are unpredictable together to sya the least given their history.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English only. This is yet another ABEMA exclusive broadcast that is otherwise available only in Japan so their commentary and some audio will be muted and some parts of video may be edited out (that version will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese shortly after the event). This may be changing soon as WRESTLE UNIVERSE announced a major overhaul in its service to take effect in one month, including more like Korakuen broadcasts and much more. There will be a price increase though, it’s going from 900 Japanese yen/month to 1298 yen/month (from about $6 US to around $8.75) It’s hard to predict how long this event will go but I imagine WRESTLE UNIVERSE won’t want it to go too long to avoid having to broadcast THREE events live at the same time, but with 2 title matches among 8 total I’m guessing it’ll go in the range of 3 hours.
Late add: You can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube.

Today’s lineup:
Hi69 vs. Alejandro
Daga & Yoshinari Ogawa vs. Hajime Ohara & Super Crazy
Ninja Mack vs. Junta Miyawaki
Masa Kitamiya, Daiki Inaba, Takashi Sugiura & Ulka Sasaki vs. Go Shiozaki, Atsushi Kotoge, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf
Kenoh, Yu Owada, Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa vs. Manabu Soya, Shuji Kondo, Saxon Huxley & Timothy Thatcher
Naomichi Marufuji & Kazuyuki Fujita vs. Jake Lee & LJ Cleary
GHC National Champion Jack Morris vs. Anthony Greene for the title
GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions YO-HEY & Tadasuke vs. HAYATA & Eita for the titles

Pro Wrestling NOAH 2/4/24 Results (Updated)

CROSS OVER 2024 in SENDAI, Pro Wrestling NOAH’s next major event, is on tap today with 3 big title matches at the top of the card. First up is a GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship match between Daga & Hajime Ohara. The second title match is GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Jack Morris & Anthony Greene defending against the masked duo of Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf. Finally, in the main event, Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. challenges Kenoh for the GHC Heavyweight Championship. The son of Mexican legend Dr. Wagner Jr. recently had perhaps the greatest GHC National Championship reign to date and now looks to end the current reign of the “Fist King” and add another notch to his already-impressive record in the promotion.

Today’s event will be held at Sendai Sun Plaza in Sendai and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English. The live stream is ENGLISH ONLY due to ABEMA exclusive broadcast rights (their stream is free but only available in Japan). Japanese commentary will be available on demand later today after the event. You can also watch the first 2 matches LIVE FOR FREE on YouTube via the Pro Wrestling NOAH Official YouTube channel. With 8 matches on the card and the 3 title matches it’s tricky to predict how long the event will run, but I’m anticipating the main event going 30+ minutes so it probably will run 3 1/2-4 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Ninja Mack vs. Alejandro & LJ Cleary in a 3-way
Manabu Soya, Masa Kitamiya, Daiki Inaba, HAYATA & Eita vs. Go Shiozaki, Mohammed Yone, Akitoshi Saito, Atsushi Kotoge & Hi69
Naomichi Marufuji, Takashi Sugiura & Ulka Sasaki vs. Saxon Huxley, Timothy Thatcher & Shuhei Taniguchi
Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa vs. Yoshinari Ogawa & Yu Owada
Jake Lee, YO-HEY & Tadasuke vs. Kazuyuki Fujita, Shuji Kondo & Junta Miyawaki
GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion Daga vs. Hajime Ohara for the title
GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Jack Morris & Anthony Greene vs. Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf for the titles
GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh vs. Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for the title

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. While the venue has a capacity of over 5000, it looks like their setup will be for 3000 tops, and probably not even close to that as their major events like these seem to draw poor numbers on paper. Let’s hope for at least 1000. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 1104)

The matches will begin shortly.

The matches begin at 10:05 PM PT.

Main Event: GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh vs. Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. beat GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh to win the title. Wagner Jr. becomes the 44th GHC Heavyweight Champion. UPSET ALERT!!! And based on the crowd’s reaction that’s a massive understatement. Wagner didn’t even get to catch his breath before Jake Lee came out with GLG in tow. Lee with microphone. Challenge issued. We’ll find out when that may happen in a few hours.

The next event is Thursday at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 1 AM PT/4 AM ET.

UPDATE: Here’s all the post-event news/fallout so far:
Wagner-Lee is now official. That match will happen on 3/31 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
A new tag team tournament, Victory Challenge Tag League, has been announced. There will be 7 teams entered in the tournament, which will be round-robin format with GHC Championship Match Rules and a 20 minute time limit for all matches. The top 2 advance to the Finals and the eventual winners will face GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Jack Morris & Anthony Greene for the titles on 3/17 at Yokohama Budokan in Yokohama. The entered teams: Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba, Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa, Go Shiozaki & Atsushi Kotoge, Takashi Sugiura & Ulka Sasaki, Manabu Soya & Shuji Kondo, Saxon Huxley & Timothy Thatcher, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf. The tournament begins on 2/24 and ends on 3/10.
Before Morris & Greene defend their titles, they will first face each other as Greene is the next challenger for Morris and the GHC National Championship. That match will happen on 2/23 at Korakuen Hall. Could be a bad day for the GLG champs as YO-HEY & Tadasuke will also defend the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship that day against HAYATA & Eita.
