She was to have teamed with Kaya Toribami to face Shoko Nakajima & Arisu Endo. It’s now a 3-way. Kakuta was on the 6/25 card announced today so hopefully she will be back for that event.

Impact Wrestling 6/15/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in Columbus, OH:

This episode was taped Saturday and begins the fallout from Friday’s Against All Odds live event.

The YouTube pre-show match was Champagne Singh & Shera vs. Laredo Kid & Jack Price. (Singh & Shera won)

Motor City Machine Guns open the show. They get interrupted by Nick Aldis, Trey Miguel & Kenny King who all seem to want title matches (Aldis of course will face NEW Impact World Champion Alex Shelley for the title at Slammiversary). THEN Gisele Shaw cuts in. After a “Yep” from Shelley and a few words towards Shaw and her ranting, that brings out Trinity. She went right after Jai Vidal and stared down Shaw…NOW Deonna Purrazzo joins the party. Finally out comes Santino Marella. He makes MCMG, Aldis, Trinity & Purrazzo vs. Miguel, King, Sheldon Jean, Savannah Evans & Shaw as the main event. He calls Evans Savannah Georgia. HAHA.

Steve Maclin promo.

The Design promo.

Match 1: Rich Swann beat Moose.

Pre-show footage where Heath attacked Champagne Singh & Shera after their victory. Heath promo follows.

Moose walks backstage and gets confronted by Brian Myers. He wants Moose to team with him and go for the Impact World Tag Team Championship.

Bully Ray comes out. Commentary noted earlier he apparently has filed a complaint with promotion owner Anthem Sports & Entertainment (as Anthen Wrestling Exhibitions) over the actions of Scott D’Amore at Against All Odds. He rants and complains until D’Amore comes out. He’s heard from the Anthem board and that his actions were unbecoming as Impact President. Bully says D’Amore only needs to say Bully was right and he was wrong. D’Amore said the board strongly advised he should take a leave of absence as President. Bully plays the “Bret Screwed Bret” card and tells D’Amore to leave the ring. D’Amore then tosses the mic away and takes down Bully and starts wailing away until Steve Maclin rushes out for the beatdown on D’Amore. Maclin soon goes under the ring for a pair of chairs, but surprisingly not tables. Bully chokes D’Amore with a chair and as Maclin prepares to smash it into D’Amore’s throat, the lights go out and we see lightning strikes. When the lights come back on, PCO is in the ring. He takes several chair shots and bends over but doesn’t go down before coming back to life and cleaning house. D’Amore with microphone. He forgot one more detail before he left-at Slammiversary they have a tag match! Bully & Maclin vs. D’Amore & PCO in his hometown! OOOOO CANADA!

Maclin & Bully ranting backstage after we return from commercial. Apparently Frankie Kazarian overheard them nearby and interjects himself into their argument, then Eddie Edwards does as well. Bully threatens them and Alisha Edwards before walking off. Edwards proposes they make peace despite their differences over Alisha’s objections and says they’re good.

Match 3: Impact World Tag Team Champions Ace Austin & Chris Bey beat Decay in a NON-TITLE match. Bey pinned Crazzy Steve after 1…2…Sweet. Borderline squash. As Ace & Bey head backstage, MCMG talk to them and show respect to Ace & Bey.

Bhupinder Gujjar interviewed backstage. He gets an episode of “Diary” next week on AXS TV before Impact (and should be on Impact+ and YouTube after that). Interview interrupted by Dirty Dango. He takes a shot at Gia Miller before walking off. Commentary then announces 2 episodes of Diary air each week this month before Impact on AXS TV, with Gujjar & Trey Miguel next week.

Main Event: Main Event: Motor City Machine Gune, Nick Aldis, Trinity & Deonna Purrazzo beat Trey Miguel, Kenny King, Gisele Shaw, Savannah Evans & Sheldon Jean. Alex Shelley pinned Jean after Cradle Shock. Afterwards, Aldis handed Shelley the title belt but laid him out with a cheap shot, seemingly starting a heel turn for the PPV.

Next week: oVe vs. Brian Myers & The Good Hands, The Design vs. Jonathan Gresham & Mike Bailey, Taylor Wilde vs. Killer Kelly and Bully Ray & Brian Myers vs. Eddie Edwards & Frankie Kazarian. This will be the last Columbus show as Impact then heads to Atlanta, GA for 2 days of TV tapings before heading to Australia on 6/30 & 7/1 for live events. The Atlanta tapings will take them to the Slammiversary PPV on 7/15 with PPV fallout on 7/16 to go to their next Chicago tapings at the end of July. The 6/30 & 7/1 standalone Australia events will be available LIVE and on demand only on FITE for $14.99 each or both for $24.99 (on demand will be available immediately after the live events). Both live events begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET. Results for both will be posted after I have a chance to watch on demand replays.
Steve Maclin will get his rematch for the Impact World Championship against Shelley on 6/30. On 7/1 Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Gisele Shaw for the title is set, and if Shaw wins the title she defends on 7/15 against Purrazzo & Trinity in a 3-way.

AEW Dynamite 6/14/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Washington, DC:

AEW World Champion MJF vs. Adam Cole in a NON-TITLE match (aka Eliminator) went to a 30 minute time limit draw. Cole would’ve gotten a rematch for the title had he won. Perfect heel wrestling by MJF. Must-see.

Sammy Guevara interviewed. He announces when he & Tay Melo have their first baby later this year or early next year it will be a girl. Then he shifts to other priorities, which leads to Darby Allin & Chris Jericho getting involved. This all leads to potentially Guevara & Jericho vs. Allin & Sting next week.

IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA (New Japan) appears in a pre-taped promo in Japanese. Open Challenge for the title at Forbidden Door.

Gunn Club interviewed. They want The Hardys next week.

AEW TNT Champion Wardlow beat Jake Hager to retain the title. Christian Cage & Luchasaurus seen backstage afterwards with a bloody & beaten Arn Anderson. Wardlow-Luchasaurus for the title will happen at Collision Saturday.

Hiroshi Tanahashi (New Japan) pre-taped promo in Japanese. Challenge issued to MJF for Forbidden Door.

AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm beat Skye Blue by submission to retain the title. Ruby Soho seconded Storm. No Saraya. Likely just heel acting by Saraya.

Jungle Boy accepts SANADA’s open challenge.

The Elite (The Young Bucks & Adam Page) beat Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta). Page pinned Yuta after Buckshot Lariat. After the match things got crazy including the return of Eddie Kingston, Konosuke Takeshita getting involved then, Kenny Omega laying out Takeshita and finally Will Ospreay appearing and laying out Omega with Stormbreaker, then adding Hidden Blade as Dynamite went off the air.

Another very good show with excellent Forbidden Door build throughout. MJF-Cole was an A+ match and a definite must-see just for the Masters’ Class on champion heel wrestling by MJF.

Friday on Rampage, presumably at regular time: Will Ospreay vs. TBA. Nothing else announced on TV, perhaps due to time constraints. If there were announcements I missed them.

Added to the Collision premiere Saturday: AEW TNT Champion Wardlow vs. Luchasaurus for the title, Willow Nightingale & Skye Blue vs. Toni Storm & Ruby Soho, Buddy Matthews vs. Andrade El Idolo, Miro vs. TBA.

Confirmed for Forbidden Door: AEW World Champion MJF vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the title, and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA vs. Jungle Boy for the title, joining the already-announced Bryan Danielson vs. Kazuchika Okada and IWGP US Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay for the title.
