Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 7/5/2025 LIVE Results (Updated Pre-Show)

Tokyo Joshi Pro kicks off a very busy & exciting July today, which includes their return to the US next week, with an event perhaps appropriately called “CAN’T WAIT UNTIL SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25!” Besides continuing the build to their annual July blowout event in just over 2 weeks, 2 more Tokyo Princess Cup spots will be filled with the first half of the qualifier final matches, with the winners of Haru Kazashiro vs. Ivy Steele and Wakana Uehara vs. Shino Suzuki advancing to the promotion’s annual singles tournament. The event will also feature Yoshiko Hasegawa’s final TJPW match before her retirement event next week and her last “real match” as her retirement match will be the TJPW standard handicap match of Hasegawa vs. the rest of the roster. So something like a 27 vs. 1 handicap match.

The promotion has announced that Maki Itoh is off today’s event. Schedule conflicts. No impact on the card.

Today’s event will be held at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. The event is a legit advance sellout. You will also be able to watch the full event FOR FREE on YouTube (live broadcast only, no on demand replays). There will be no commentary. There are 6 matches planned and while the qualifier matches will have no time limit I anticipate this bring a standard house show with a running time of around 2 hours (and it can’t run too long because there is a DDT event at the venue shortly after this one)

Riara beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Sanshiro Takagi to win the title. Riara becomes the 1750th Champion.

We are LIVE from Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s a legit advance sellout so it’ll depend on the setup-the venue’s max capacity is just under 400 but is usually set up for anywhere from 290-350 so I’ll guess it’ll be, give or take a few, roughly 300. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance-a legit advance sellout-was 273)

The matches will begin shortly. During opening announcements they brought out Shoko Nakajima for an announcement. More on that as it becomes available. (UPDATE: It was the announcement of a new training program for women only who want to be pro wrestlers, to be led by Nakajima & Miyu Yamashita. It will be held irregularly starting in August, probably once a month, and if neither is available due to events or other schedule conflicts other wrestlers will fill in)

The matches begin at 8:13 PM PT/11:13 PM ET.

Match 1: Tokyo Princess Cup Qualifier Final 1: Wakana Uehara vs. Shino Suzuki. No time limit
Result: Wakana Uehara beat Shino Suzuki by submission. As a result, Uehara qualifies for the Tokyo Princess Cup.

Match 2: Tokyo Princess Cup Qualifier Final 2: Haru Kazashiro vs. Ivy Steele. No time limit
Result: Haru Kazashiro beat Ivy Steele. As a result, Kazashiro qualifies for the Tokyo Princess Cup.

Match 3: Mahiro Kiryu, Toga & Chika Nanase vs. Arisu Endo, Uta Takami & Ren Konatsu. 20 minute time limit
Result: Mahiro Kiryu, Toga & Chika Nanase beat Arisu Endo, Uta Takami & Ren Konatsu. Toga pinned Konatsu after a chokeslam.

Match 4: Yoshiko Hasegawa & Kaya Toribami vs. HIMAWARI & Riara (Independent/Freelancer). 20 minute time limit
Result: Yoshiko Hasegawa & Kaya Toribami beat HIMAWARI & DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Riara, with Hasegawa beating Riara to win the title. Hasegawa becomes the 1751st Champion.

Match 5: Yuki Kamifuku, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer vs. Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki AIno, Raku & Pom Harajuku beat Yuki Kamifuku, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer. Aino pinned Summer after Venus DDT.

The next event is the Yoshiko Hasegawa Retirement Event Tuesday at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese (there will be commentary) will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET. After that event the US-bound wrestlers will hustle to Texas for those events starting Thursday. For the Thursday (7/10) & Friday (7/11) events, I will not be able to do live results due to work schedule conflicts (I have a new schedule) but will do NEAR LIVE results instead on about a one hour tape delay.

New Japan 7/4/25 Results (Updated x2)

New Japan resumed the New Japan Soul 2025 Tour today after a week-long break with the penultimate event of the tour.

Today’s event was held at Tokyo Budokan in Tokyo (not the same as Nippon Budokan) and can be watched on demand on New Japan World.

The announced paid attendance was 1377.

Pre-show:
Match 1: Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Zane Jay went to a 10 minute time limit draw.
Match 2: Daiki Nagai & Katsuya Murashima beat Masatora Yasuda & Shoma Kato. Nagai pinned Yasuda.

Main show:
Match 1: Tiger Mask, Shota Umino, Taichi, Tomohiro Ishii & Shota Umino beat Dick Togo, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, SANADA, DOUKI & EVIL. Umino beat Togo with STF.

Match 2: Hiromu Takahashi, Yota Tsuji & Shingo Takagi beat Jacob Austin Young, Callum Newman & Great-O-Khan. Takagi pinned Young after MADE IN JAPAN.

G1 CLIMAX 35 Qualifier Tournament Finals:
Match 4: Block A: Ryohei Oiwa beat Satoshi Kojima. As a result, Oiwa will be in Block A of the tournament.
Match 5: Block B: YOSHI-HASHI beat Chase Owens. As a result, YOSHI-HASHI will be in Block B of the tournament.

Match 6: Master Wato, Yoh & Toru Yano beat NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Champions Sho, Yujiro Takahashi & Ren Narita to win the titles. Wato, Yoh & Yano become the 31st NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Champions. Yano pinned Takahashi.

Main Event: IWGP Global Champion Gabriel Kidd beat Hiroshi Tanahashi to retain the title. V1 for Kidd.

The tour-ender is Sunday at Korakuen Hall. It may be a legit sellout and overflow crowd as standing room only tickets are now on sale in limited quantities. Live streaming on New Japan World will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

UPDATE: After the event, it was announced Hirooki Goto is OUT of G1 CLIMAX 35. Recent elbow injury suffered last weekend at TANAHASHI JAM. That means he is now out at least another month. The replacement in Block A will be determined by a gauntlet match Sunday with Tomohiro Ishii, Taichi, Satoshi Kojima & Chase Owens participating. The winner is the replacement for Goto.

UPDATE 2: At today’s TAMASHII event in Auckland, New Zealand, Mark Tui & Richard Mulu, known as The Pretty Boys when teaming, won a tournament to become the inaugural TAMASHII Tag Team Champions.

Stardom 7/4/25 Results (Updated x2)

Stardom ran their latest NEW BLOOD event today, continuing the sub-label for younger & less experienced wrestlers.

Today’s event was held at Tokyo Square in Tokyo and can be watched on demand FOR FREE on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 153.

Match 1: Ema Maishima beat Rina by ref stoppage. Potential Rina injury. More at the bottom of the post. First career win for Maishima, but not the way anyone wanted it to happen.

Match 2: Kiyoka Kokatsu beat Kikyo Furusawa.

Match 3: Rian & Honoka (WAVE) beat Saki-ran & Asuka Goda. Rian pinned Goda.

Match 4: Hina, Lady C & Ranna Yagami beat Aya Sakura, Sayaka Kurara & Akira Kurogame. Hina pinned Kurogame with Gedo Clutch.

Main Event: New Blood Tag Team Champions Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO beat Momo Kohgo & Yuria Hime to retain the titles. HANAKO pinned Hime after a lariat. V4 for the champs.

The next event is Sunday at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin Saturday at 7:10 PM PT/10:10 PM ET.

Injury Report: The first match was stopped after Rina took a hard blow to the head. The ref noticed concussion-like symptoms. Rina was immediately hospitalized, examined and was released from the hospital and posted on social media that she is fine, but the promotion’s follow-up report confirmed a suspected concussion despite no abnormalities or symptoms. Out indefinitely. This is going to have potential major impacts on Sunday because she was to have challenged for the Artist Of Stardom Championship alongside Konami & Natsuko Tora. Assume she is now off Sunday.

UPDATE 2: The edited on demand replay on YouTube is now available again as of 7/5. Also, because of the Rina injury above, the Artist Of Stardom Championship match scheduled for Sunday at Korakuen Hall is now off. The champions & challengers will be moved into other matches.

GLEAT 7/1/25 Results (Updated)

GLEAT ran their 4th Anniversary event Tuesday in Tokyo, held on the date the promotion held their debut event in 2022.

Tuesday’s event was held at City Hall & Gallery Gotanda in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on YouTube with a paid channel membership ($8.99/month outside Japan).

The announced paid attendance was 340, a legit sellout. A lot less than what they had been doing each year when they held the event previously at Tokyo Dome City Hall.

Match 1: El Lindaman, Takanori Ito & Minoru Tanaka beat Soma Watanabe, Junjie & JD Lee. Lindaman pinned Lee with a German suplex hold.

Match 2: G-RUSH Champion Issei Onitsuka beat Brass Knuckles JUN to retain the title.V2 for Onitsuka.

Match 3: Kotaro Suzuki & Quiet Storm beat Rock Iwasaki & Keiichi Sato. Storm pinned Sato after 53cm Arm Lariat.

Match 4: Mason Madden, Mansoor, Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga beat Ryo Aitaka, MICHIKO, T-Hawk & KAZMA SAKAMOTO. Suruga pinned MICHIKO. Afterwards, Shuji Ishikawa appeared which set up a match for 7/24.

Match 5: CIMA & Alberto El Patron (formerly Alberto Del Rio) beat Ryuichi Kawakami & Chris Weiss. Patron pinned Kawakami.

Match 6: G INFINITY Champions Takehiro Yamamura & Issei Onitsuka beat Tetsuya Izuchi & So Daimonji to retain the titles. Onitsuka pinned Izuchi after Soul Shooting Star Press. V2 for the champs. And for Onitsuka this day-2 title matches, 2 successful defenses. Impressive.

Main Event: Katsuhiko Nakajima beat G-REX Champion Kaito Ishida to win the title. Nakajima becomes the 7th G-REX Champion. Now a double champion in GLEAT as he also holds the Lidet UWF Championship.

The next event is 7/13 at Umeda Stellar Hall in Osaka. Broadcast plans TBA.

UPDATE: On 7/4 the promotion announced Onitsuka has been INDEFINITELY SUSPENDED. Suspected breach of contract. Will be out until the investigation is completed but it’s going to be a few weeks. The 7/13 card will be changed as a result and he is also suspended from fan club activities (he may be the chairman). Regarding the G INFINITY and G-RUSH Championships he holds, statuses TBA.

Injury Report: Wasteland Pom Party Pooper

This one makes me very sad…Tokyo Joshi Pro has announced that, to many fans’ dismay, Max The Impaler is now off SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25 on 7/21. Unspecified health issues. Max was to have teamed with Pom Harajuku to face Raku & Andreza Giant Panda. So no Wasteland Pom Party. Kyoko Inoue is the replacement. It’s mot known what the specific issues are keeping Max out but I hope for a speedy recovery.

Dragon Gate 7/3/25 Results (Updated)

Dragon Gate continued the Aggressive Gate 2025 Tour today with their monthly Tokyo event.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK in Japanese & English. You can also watch the first match FOR FREE on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 1066.

Match 1: Luis Mante & Ryoya Tanaka beat Flamita & U-T. Tanaka pinned U-T after Cross Saber.

Match 2: Ultimo Dragon, Don Fujii, BxB Hulk, Susumu Yokosuka & Kagetora beat Masaaki Mochizuki, Takashi, Problem Dragon, Punch Tominaga & Daiki Yanagiuchi. Fujii pinned Takashi with Gedo Clutch.

DDT 7/2/25 Results

DDR ran their monthly Meet&Greet&Fight event today, which also was their latest D GENERATIONS event.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Friday. There was no live broadcast.

The paid attendance was not announced.

There were last-minute changes to the card due to Shunma Katsumata being off the event. Left knee injury suffered in practice recently. Out indefinitely.

Match 2: Hideki Okatani beat Lil Kraken.

Match 3: Takeshi Masada beat Ryoma Tsukamoto.

Injury Report: Cooled Off Heatwave

DDT has announced an injury change to upcoming events-Shunma Katsumata was injured during practice recently and is out of action again. Ruptured left knee ACL. Out indefinitely and was pulled off today’s event as a result. Today’s results will be posted tonight. It’s not yet known how long Katsumata will be out.

Dragon Gate 7/1/25 Results

Dragon Gate kicked off the Aggressive Gate 2025 Tour, their July tour, today in Aichi.

Today’s event was held at Loisir Hotel Toyohashi in Aichi. There is/was no live or on demand broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 311.

Match 1: YAMATO, Dragon Kid & Kagetora beat Yasushi Kanda, Luis Mante & Bendito. YAMATO beat Kanda with a sleeper hold.

Match 2: Susumu Yokosuka beat Problem Dragon.

Match 3: Madoka Kikuta & KAI beat Strong Machine J & Takashi. KAI beat Takashi with Gannosuke Clutch.

Match 4: Yuki Yoshioka, Dragon Dia & Ryoya Tanaka beat Kzy, U-T & Flamita. Dia pinned Kzy after Repterianrana.

Main Event: In an elimination match, Hyo, Ben-K, JACKY KAMEI, Riiita & Mochizuki Junior beat Kota Minoura, Jason Lee, ISHIN, Yoshiki Kato & Homare. Hyo was the only winner, last eliminating ISHIN.

The next event is Thursday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Live streaming on DRAGONGATE NETWORK will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

DEVELOPING: Another Major Stardom Departure (Updated)

At least temporarily, but it’s huge nonetheless…Stardom has announced that Syuri will be leaving the promotion indefinitely after the 7/6 event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Not injury-related but a translation of her comments from Stardom’s Japanese website suggest she’s going to go overseas for training because she wants to reclaim the IWGP Women’s Championship, which she recently lost to Sareee. I can’t help but think this could mean All Elite Wrestling but we’ll see. It’s not known how long she will be gone but definitely will be at least 1-2 months because she is now out of the upcoming 5STAR GP. Although one has to wonder, is that title cursed? Everyone that’s held it before left Stardom almost as soon as they lost it (KAIRI went to WWE, Mercedes Mone went to AEW but did come back, albeit to New Japan though, Mayu Iwatani went to Marigold, now Syuri is leaving temporarily).
