In other news, the Japanese commentary guests for SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25 on 7/21 have been announced: Former figure skating champion turned sportscaster & talent Mai Asada and, for the first time since her retirement from wrestling in 2023, the Strong, Noble, Beautiful Saki Akai will return to TJPW as a guest. Akai has been keeping busy since leaving DDT & Tokyo Joshi Pro between her new front office job in DDT, her beauty salon/spa and, over the past year, as an actress in various stage performances. She has gotten widespread praise from theatergoers and fellow wrestlers for her appearances in theater performances based on the video games “Final Fantasy 7” and “NIKKE”, the latter of which just completed its run in Japan earlier this week (albeit under apparent unexpected circumstances).
