UPDATE: Mina Shirakawa is now OUT of the 5 STAR GP. According to the official Stardom English Twitter, she announced after the event she’s headed back to the US. That has yo mean All Elite Wrestling.

UPDATE 2: Also announced post-event was the next Future Of Stardom Championship match as Rina tries to tie the record of 10 successful defenses held by her sister Hanan, and it will come against…Hina, her other (and twin) sister. That match will happen on 8/31 at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza Main Arena in Tokyo.

DDT held a special “Meet & Greet & Fight” event today with only 3 matches, but each one awarded “Money In The Bank” style title shots to the victors.

Match 1; Kazuma Sumi beat Yuni & Illusion in a 3-way by pinning Yuni. As a result, Sumi earns a title shot of his choice anytime, anywhere. He almost used it immediately before GM Imabayashi talked him out of it.

Match 2; KANON beat Yukio Naya. As a result, KANON earns same title shot contract.

Main Event: In an 18 man battle royal where the last 3 left won and earned the title shots, the winners were HARASHIMA, Keigo Nakamura and (oh dear) Antonio Honda.

Injury Report: The Mighty Don’t Kosei Again

Developing-New Japan has just announced an injury that will affect upcoming events-Kosei Fujita is now off. Left acromioclavicular joint. More simply, shoulder. Out at least 10 days as he is off Sunday, 8/7 and 8/10. He is not in the G1 CLIMAX 34 Tournament so this will only affect non-tournament matches. It’s not known exactly how long he will be out

BREAKING: Injury Report-N-1 is No Go (Updated 8/3/24)

The injury bug is once again hitting Japan really hard in a big way, and unfortunately Pro Wrestling NOAH just announced it’s a Bo Go…Go Shiozaki is OUT of the N-1 VICTORY Tournament. Fractured thoracic vertebrae. In simpler medical terms, spine/middle back. Out indefinitely. A replacement in the tournament will be named soon.
