Injury Report: 2 DDT Group Wrestlers Out

DDT announced two wrestlers are out of action for the time being today:

First, Rika Tatsumi is off tomorrow’s Tokyo Joshi Pro event. Still dealing with the ever-vague poor physical condition. She was to have been in a 6-woman tag match. Ryo Mizunami is the replacement.

DDT also announced changes for Sunday’s event because KANON is now off. Dislocated left shoulder suffered in practice. Out indefinitely but will be “for a while”. He was to have been in a 6-man tag match, which is now just a tag match.

More as it becomes available.

Impact Wrestling 5/18/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in Chicago, IL:

This episode was taped during the 4/28-4/29 TV tapings.

The YouTube pre-show match was The Design vs. Johnny Swinger & Zicky Dice.

Match 1: Impact X Division Champion Trey Miguel beat Laredo Kid in a NON-TITLE match.

Miguel stays in the ring through and after commercial claiming he is holding the show hostage until the crowd shows him some respect. This brings out Chris Sabin. He talks down Miguel and sends him off, including hilariously putting himself over as a to-be-9-time champion (which he did say 9 times).

Jai Vidal confronts Trinity about the picture he took with her last week and posted to social media. Trinity tells Vidal that Gisele Shaw can talk to her if there’s a problem. Vidal says Shaw won’t be cleared until next week so Trinity throws down a challenge.

Sami Callihan & Rich Swann promo.

Match 2: Jason Hotch beat Ace Austin.

Steve Maclin recruits Champagne Singh & Shera to do some dirty work.

Jordynne Grace interviewed about what happened to Deonna Purrazzo last week. Alisha Edwards interrupts and claims it’s because of Grace.

Match 3: Trinity (Impact Debut) beat KiLynn King by submission. Great match. Afterwards, Jai Vidal immediately came out with microphone. He has a message from Gisele Shaw-open challenge accepted for Under Siege. Vidal then tries to b*tch slap Shaw but Trinity nicely blocks it and head kicks Vidal out of the ring and it’s now official-Trinity vs. Shaw at Under Siege.

Maclin confronts PCO backstage and the beatdown is on. Note the floor was interestingly lined with cardboard boxes as padding. Maclin uses a sledgehammer to smash cinderblocks on PCO’s back.

The Coven confront Jessicka. They want Rosemary but Jessicka won’t go in. Not until her hourglass is empty…and it’s not yet.

Match 4: Jody Threat beat Sierra. Squash.

Dirty Dango clears Johnny Swinger & Zicky Dice in the Santino Marella attack investigation, but sensing they know who did it triggers a Joe Hendry appearance. They think it was Hendry. Hendry absolutely denies the allegations. He tears Dango’s shirt, which apparently reveals the evidence that Dango did it before laying out Hendry.

Main Event: Jonathan Gresham, Yuya Uemura & Alex Shelley beat Moose, Frankie Kazarian & Eddie Edwards. Shelley pinned Edwards after Shell Shock.

Next week: Rich Swann vs. Angels and Mike Bailey vs. Chris Sabin. Remember this was taped before Bailey went to New Japan for Best Of The Super Junior (where he is doing very well). This is the last episode before Under Siege next Friday live on Impact+, YouTube for Ultimate Insiders and FITE.
