Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the spring 2023 house show tour today with a visit to Shizuoka.

Today’s event was held at Act City Hamamatsu Event Hall in Shizuoka and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date (likely Tuesday). There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 316.

There were last-minute changes to the event because Rika Tatsumi was absent due to the always-vague poor physical condition. She was to have faced Wakana Uehara. A planned 3-way became a tag match with Uehara added. Also absent as previously announced were Neko Haruna (injury) and Yuka Sakazaki (international excursion).

Match 1: Moka Miyamoto beat Haru Kazashiro by submission. When the replay is uploaded to WRESTLE UNIVERSE we’ll get to hear Kazashiro’s new entrance theme.

Match 2: Nao Kakuta & Toga beat Hyper Misao & Shino Suzuki. Kakuta pinned Suzuki after Shiden Kai.

Match 3: Miu Watanabe beat HIMAWARI by submission.

Match 4: HIkari Noa & Wakana Uehara beat Arisu Endo & Kaya Toribami. Noa pinned Toribami with a blizzard suplex hold.

Match 5: Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku beat Shoko Nakajima, Suzume & Mahiro Kiryu. Aino pinned Kiryu after Venus DDT.

DDT 5/13/23 Results

DDT held a special event today outside the JR Takashimaya train station in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo, the first time a wrestling event was held there. The event also featured a press conference and a talk show event with Sanshiro Takagi & Saki Akai.

Today’s event was held at JR Takashimaya 1st Floor JR Exit Special Venue in Tokyo and may be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

The attendance was not announced because this was a free event.

Match 1: Kazusada Higuchi, Saki Akai & Yuki Ishida beat Sanshiro Takagi, Yuya Koroku & Kazuma Sumi. Higuchi beat Sumi with a torture rack Canadian backbreaker.

The public press conference held after the first match featured the KING OF DDT Semifinalists (Higuchi, Yuki Ueno, Chris Brookes, Jun Akiyama).

Sanshiro Takagi & Saki Akai held a talk show event and talked glowingly about the Takashimaya venue and area.

Match 2: Chiitan* & Akito beat Pocotan & Kazuki Hirata. Chiitan* pinned Hirata after Chii*Poco Trigger. Afterwards, actions by Hirata led Akito to make Chiitan* & Pocotan a team and they will be in a tag match at WRESTLE PETER PAN 2023 on 7/23 at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Match 3: Tetsuya Endo, Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada beat MAO, Yuki Ueno & Toui Kojima. Brookes pinned Kojima after Praying Mantis Bomb.

BREAKING: TJPW Last-Minute Change For Today

Tokyo Joshi Pro has just announced a last-minute change for today’s (Japan time) event: Rika Tatsumi is now off. The always-vague poor physical condition. She was to have faced Wakana Uehara. What was Arisu Endo vs. Hikari Noa & Kaya Toribami in a 3-way has now been changed to Noa & Uehara vs. Endo & Toribami as a result. No word on if Tatsumi may miss additional time although there is a week before the next event after today.

New Japan 5/12/23 Results

New Japan kicked off this year’s Best Of The Super Junior today, the 30th edition of the annual prestigious Jr. Heavyweight showcase (and my favorite tournament of the year). Both blocks made up today’s event.
