New Japan 7/19/25 Results

New Japan kicked off the G1 CLIMAX 35 Tournament, the promotion’s biggest annual tournament, today in Hokkaido. The Road To Tokyo Dome has officially begun.

Today’s event was held at Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center Hokkai Kita Yell in Hokkaido and can be watched on demand OUTSIDE JAPAN ONLY on New Japan World. This event aired in Japan as part of WORLD PRO WRESTLING LIVE 2025 exclusively on TV Asahi.

The announced paid attendance was 2579.

All matches were G1 CLIMAX matches, 30 minute time limit.

Pro Wrestling NOAH ran the first half of a special 25th Anniversary doubleheader today in Tokyo.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English. The live broadcast was an ABEMA exclusive in Japan and will be available in Japanese shortly.

The announced paid attendance was 1596, a legit advance sellout including standing room only tickets.

Match 1: Naomichi Marufuji & Daiki Odashima beat KENTA & Junta Miyawaki. Odashima pinned Miyawaki after Rotating Hell Olympics Part 1.

Match 2: Dragon Bane, Alpha Wolf & Super Crazy beat Shuhei Taniguchi, Will Kroos & Hajime Ohara. Bane pinned Ohara after Twisterbane.

Match 3: Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba, Saxon Huxley & Yuto Kikuchi beat Ulka Sasaki, AMAKUSA, Eita & Black Menso-re. Soya pinned MEnso-re after Ballistic.

Match 4: Takashi Sugiura & Daga beat Tetsuya Endo & Atsushi Kotoge. Daga pinned Kotoge after Diablo Wings.

Match 5: Jack Morris, Tadasuke, Owadasan & TBA, a supposed new Team 2000X member revealed to be Knull, beat Kaito Kiyomiya, Galeno, Alejandro & Harutoki. Knull pinned Alejandro after a chokeslam.

Match 6: GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion YO-HEY beat HAYATA to retain the title. V4 for YO-HEY.

Main Event: Kenoh beat GHC Heavyweight Champion OZAWA by ref stoppage (KO/TKO) to win the title. Kenoh becomes the 47th GHC Heavyweight Champion. Next up: KENTA. That match will happen tomorrow.

All-Japan News: Royal Road Tournament Set, More (Updated)

All-Japan has announced the field for the 2025 Royal Road Tournament, a single-elimination bracket-style tournament for Heavyweights only coming up in August & September. There are 16 entrants this year, 15 of which were revealed today: Jun Saito, Rei Saito, Ren Ayabe, Kento Miyahara, Yuma Aoyagi, Hideki Suzuki, Shotaro Ashino, Ryuki Honda, Hokuto Omori, Koran, Davey Boy Smith Jr., Xyon, Kengo Mashimo, Naoya Nomura and, noteworthy, Odyssey aka the former Odyssey Jones in WWE. Entrant 16 is TBA, whoever it is will face Rei Saito in Round 1. TBA will be revealed via participation on 8/3 at Ota City General Gym.

Shotaro Ashino vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

All matches will be held under PWF Rules, 1 fall with no time limit. Round 1 will be on 8/24 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, 8/30 at Kunibiki Messe Large Exhibition Hall in Shimane and 8/31 at Kobe Sambo Hall in Kobe. The Quarterfinals will be 9/3 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and 9/6 at Light Cube Utsunomiya in Tochigi. The Semifinals & Finals will be 9/15 at Korakuen.

Also set for 8/3 is a GAORA TV Championship match-after Takashi successfully retained the title in a 5-way in Dragon Gate at Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival 2025 last weekend, his next challenger has been announced-because apparently he’s a draw if nothing else, Kuroshio TOKYO Japan.

UPDATE: Fallout from 7/17-after Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi successfully defended the All-Japan World Tag Team Championship, the next challenge came from Hideki Suzuki & Kengo Mashimo. Accepted and it’s now official. That match will happen on 8/3. Also, I incorrectly stated the 7/17 match was V4 for the champs. It actually was V3.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV. This was also a Samurai! TV broadcast in Japan.

The announced paid attendance was 855. Rather low for Korakuen recently.

NOAH News: Epic Title Match Today, Broadcast Plans Change

Some NOAH news:

In Marigold today, GHC Women’s Champion Takuni Iroha defended the title against Marigold World Champion Utami Hayashishita in a match for both titles, and at their request it had a 1 Hour time limit instead of the normal 30 minutes. In the end, after going 56+ minutes…DOUBLE KO. Both retain their titles. V3 for Iroha. And perhaps a rematch if both have their way. The natch should be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE

Also, it was announced that the 7/36 event at Kyoto KBS Hall in Kyoto, which was scheduled to be on demand only a fee days afterwards, will now be a LIVE WRESTLE UNIVERSE broadcast. Start time is 1 AM PT/4 AM ET.

New Japan held a special TANAHASHI JAM event today, a Hiroshi Tanahashi Produced event marking the halfway point of his retirement road and the grand finale of the Aichi Prefectural Gym venue, which is closing for good to make way for the brand-new Aichi International Arena (aka IG Arena) that opened about a month ago and will have it’s official grand opening in a couple weeks with the July 2025 Grand Sumo Tournament.

Today’s event was held at Aichi Prefectural Gym in Nagoya. There is/was no live or on demand broadcast outside of Japan. This event aired live in Japan only exclusively on TV Asahi.

The announced paid attendance was 4570.

Pre-show match: Katsuya Murashima vs. Daiki Odashima (Pro Wrestling NOAH) went to a 10 minute time limit draw.

UPDATE: After the event, Dragon Gate announced Tanahashi will participate in the promotion at Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival 2025, the promotion’s biggest event of the year, on 7/13 at Kobe World Hall in Kobe. He was revealed as the TBA that will team with Dragon Kid to face Yuki Yoshioka & Dragon Dia. That event will be available to watch live & on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK.

UPDATE 2: Goto was injured in his match today. Right elbow. Out Friday. Status uncertain beyond that.
