The paid attendance has not yet been announced. Some details are missing from the results due to internet problems at the venue.

Obituary: Former New Japan Executive Dies

New Japan has posted a brief obituary piece about Hisashi Shinma, a former executive with the promotion who died yesterday at 90. Nikkan Sports also reported on his passing. Shinma was with New Japan at the beginning in 1972 as senior managing director, among his accolades were making the Muhammad Ali-Antonio Inoki fight in 1976 happen and the creation of the International Wrestling Grand Prix (IWGP), the promotion’s sanctioning body for its championships. He also helped create the Tiger Mask character made famous by Satoru Sayama. He left NJPW in 1983 to start the original UWF, then worked elsewhere around the world and even as WWF President at one time. He was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2019. He was still active working with Sayama in his Real Japan Pro Wrestling until the end.

I join in sending condolences to Shinma’s family and friends.

GLEAT 4/19/25 & 4/20/25 Results

GLEAT ran 2 events over the weekend, first their latest G PROWRESTLING event followed by a non-televised house show.

Saturday’s event was held at Ogimachi Museum Cube CUBE01 in Osaka and may be available on demand on YouTube at a later date for paying channel members ($8.99/month outside Japan).

The announced paid attendance was 158.

Match 1: CIMA, KAZMA SAKAMOTO & Gamma beat Ryo Aitaka, MICHIKO & Seiichi Ikemoto. SAKAMOTO pinned MICHIKO after Transrave.

Match 2: In a G-RUSH match, Issei Onitsuka beat T-Hawk, Soma Watanabe & Minoru Tanaka in 4-way by pinning T-Hawk. As a result, Onitsuka gets a G-RUSH Championship match later in the event.

Match 3: Ryuichi Kawakami, Chris Weiss & Rock Iwasaki beat Tkaehiro Yamamura, Junjie & JD Lee. Kawakami pinned Lee after Thunderfire Bomb.

Match K: katsuhiko Nakajima & Seiki Yoshioka beat Tetsuya Izuchi & Kotaro Suzuki. Nakajima pinned Suzuki after Northern Lights Bomb.

Match 5: In a G-RUSH Match, Issei Onitsuka beat G-RUSH Champion El Lindaman to win the title. Onitsuka becomes the 2nd G-RUSH Champion.

Main Event: G-REX Champion Kaito Ishida beat Quiet Storm to retain the title.V2 for Ishida. Afterwards, Storm announced he was leaving GLEAT. Ishida tried to recruit Storm into Black Generation International but he declined. The Anti-GLE Monsters tried to recruit Storm too but Storm instead laid out Kawakami before leaving.

Yesterday’s event was held at Kyoto Hulic Hall in Kyoto. There likely will be no on demand broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 90.

Main Event: Kaito Ishida, Tetsuya Izuchi & Kotaro Suzuki beat Soma Watanabe, Takehiro Yamamura & Junjie and Nobuhiko Oshima, Chris Weiss & Rock Iwasaki in a 3-way elimination match (team eliminated when one member loses). Junjie first beat Oshima then Izuchi beat Watanabe.

Emergency Decision! I just noticed today’s DDT Japan event is a live broadcast so while there’s time and since WrestleMania 41 Night 1 is finished live results will be below.

Today’s event will be held at Kanda Myojin Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary except for the main event, which will have commentary from special guest Sumire Uesaka, a voice actress. There are only 5 matches scheduled and although the main event has not ime limit this event probably won’t run more than 2 hours.

After WrestleMania Night 1 wrapped up and felt like a bit of a letdown for the most part, this was the classic DDT comedy we needed. A perfect way to wrap up another full day-and week-of wrestling.

DDT/Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “TJPW x DDT x GCW” LIVE Results (4/19/25)

DDT & Tokyo Joshi Pro wrap up their participation in The Collective today with the second installment of their joint event with host Game Changer Wrestling following the first such event last year. It’s an afternoon matinee that literally will lead into WWE WrestleMania and feature crossover matches from all 3 promotions and other participation. There is also at tile match as BZW Tag Team Champions MAO & Yoshihiko defend the titles in a 3-way…hopefully Yoshihiko is able to compete after quite the beating he took from Minoru Suzuki yesterday.

There has been a late change to the card because Pom Harajuku was unable to travel from Japan to the US due to visa issues. She was to have been in a 10-woman Tokyo Joshi Pro match. Jada Stone is the replacement.

Today’s event will be held at The Pearl Theater at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV and can be watched LIVE on TrillerTV/FITE with a Triller+ subscription ($7.99/month or $71.99/year, new subscribers get a 1 week free trial). This event will run indirectly against the start of WrestleMania based on the lineup as I anticipate it running around 2 1/2 hours, so prepare for some split-screening if you intend to watch WM. I feel bad for anyone attending both in person because they’ll have to miss some of one event in all likelihood.
