An absolutely incredible sight that won him a lot of fans. No match on Day 3.

New Japan 9/12/22 Partial Results (Special Event)

Although New Japan did not have an event today, the Suzuki-gun faction put on a special TAKA Michinoku 30th Anniversary event which New Japan put on as a PPV.

Today’s event was held at Yoyogi National Stadium Gym 2 in Tokyo and can be watched on demand as a PPV on New Japan World. The cost is around $22.50 US, if you are not a current New Japan World subscriber you’ll also need to pay for a monthly subscription, which brings the actual total to around $30. It will be available to all New Japan World subscribers at a later date, based on other PPVs now removed from paywalls it will likely be some time early next year. These results are partial results as New Japan’s website listed 4 matches but there may have been as many as 7.

The announced paid attendance was 1940.

Match 1: TAKA Michinoku, DOUKI, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Minoru Suzuki beat Akira Jumanji, Genta Yubari, Hideki Sekine & Hikaru Sato. Suzuki pinned Jumanji after a Gotch-style piledriver. Aussie Open will look to become double champions as they currently hold the STRONG Tag Team Championship while FTR also are the AAA and Ring Of Honor Tag Team Champions, sometimes defending them in All Elite Wrestling.

Ichinojo (K) beat Takakeisho (O)
Terunofuji (Y) beat Kiribayama (K)
WITHDRAWAL: Abi (K). Right elbow and left ankle injuries. Pre-tournament withdrawal on Friday so matches were shuffled and nobody got a free win.
Of note: It appears anybody who was forced to withdraw from the July tournament due to coronavirus outbreaks (or injury in Mitakeumi’s case) was not demoted despite having what was considered losing records. That means Mitakeumi gets another chance to get out of Kadoban status as Ozeki. Also, both top tier debuts (Hiradoumi & Mitoryu) won their debut matches.

Juryo:
Tochimusashi (J14) beat Roga (Ms1)
Takakento (J14) beat Tochimaru (J13)

Chiyomaru (J1) beat Azumaryu (J2)
WITHDRAWAL: Asanowaka (J5). Coronavirus or at least symptoms or something related. Reportedly tested positive but it was roughly 2 weeks ago.
Of note: Tochimusashi was previously Kanno before a pre-tournament name change. He won his Juryo debut as did Kinbozan, the first rikishi from Kazakhstan to ever reach this ranking.

Lower tier notes:
Asanoyama Watch: No match today. Should have his first match tomorrow on Day 2. The former Ozaki, who returned in July after a 1 year suspension, went a perfect 7-0 and won the Sandanme tournament. His opponent tomorrow will be a fellow Makushita 15 in his career debut.

New Japan 9/11/22 Results (Updated)

New Japan continued the BURNING SPIRIT Tour today with a special Yuji Nagata 30th Anniversary event as the promotion returned to the BLUE JUSTICE founder’s hometown in Chiba Prefecture. Nagata, the self-proclaimed strongest 53-years-old (I think), remains very popular and you know he would try his best today like almost every day.

Today’s event was held at Togane Arena in Chiba and will be available on demand on New Japan World at a later date. There was no live broadcast (it was taped for later broadcast on Samurai! TV in Japan). Based on the Japanese broadcast schedule it may be up to one week before it is available on New Japan World.

The announced paid attendance was 1200.

Match 1: Dick Togo, Sho, Yujiro Takahashi & EVIL beat Kosei Fujita. Yoh, YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto. Sho beat FUjita with Snake Bite. Afterwards, House Of Torture requested yet another Dog Cage/Kennel Match for 9/18, when they will challenge the Chaos trio once again for the NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Championship. Main Event: Yuji Nagata 30th Anniversary Match: Great-O-Khan beat Yuji Nagata. They went almost 22 minutes.

After the match, a 30th Anniversary commemoration celebration was held in the ring for Nagata featuring the main roster present, with gifts & flowers presented by Tanahashi, Satoshi Kojima, former New Japan wrestler Manabu Nakanishi and others and a suprise appearance by the legendary Tatsumi Fujinami. Former New Japan wrestlers including now-DDT star Jun Akiyama and The Living Legend, Keiji Muto (now in Pro Wrestling NOAH as he winds down his incomparable career), sent recorded video messages that were played. The ceremony concluded with an announcement that the promotion would return here next year.

The next event is Tuesday at Towa Pharmaceutical RACTAB Dome Sub-Arena aka Kadoma Sports Center in Osaka. There will be no live or on demand broadcast. (No video for the next 3 events. Back on New Japan World next Sunday)

UPDATE: The promotion has announced that the NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Title match on 9/18 is now a Dog Cage Survival Match. It’s a tornado match with no tags and there will be a dog cage in each corner. You can lock someone in the cage and they are eliminated from the match. If all 3 members of a team get locked in cages, the match ends then in addition to pinfalls and submissions.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “TJPW INSPIRATION” 9/11/22 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro is holding a special TJPW INSPIRATION event today, the latest in their series of occasional short events focused mostly on comedy matches and outside guest appearances. They’re on the short side with just 4 matches and they usually run only about an hour.

Today’s event will be held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary.

Today’s lineup:
Miyu Yamashita vs. Arisu Endo
Pom Harajuku vs. Neko Haruna
Shoko Nakajima & Moka Miyamoto vs. Dalys & Stephanie Beckel
Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki vs. Pokotan & Demonio Uno

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT.

We are LIVE from Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary. This event video may be only from the hard camera perspective.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event.

The first match will begin shortly. During opening announcements ring announcer/MC Sayuri Namba brought out Suzume. They talked about topics including the next event, when Suzume will face Miu Watanabe for the next International Princess Championship challenger opportunity, and some of the talent today who is visiting from Mexico. If it’s who I think it is, that would be CMLL veteran Dalys. No Up Up Girls performance.

Match 1: Pom Harajuku vs. Neko Haruna. 15 minute time limit
Result: Pom Harajuku beat Neko Haruna

Match 2: Shoko Nakajima & Moka Miyamoto vs. Dalys & Stephanie Beckel (CMLL). 20 minute time limit
Resultt: Dalys & Stephanie Beckel beat Shoko Nakajima 7 Moka Miyamoto. Dalys pinned Miyamoto with La Magistral.

Match 3: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki vs. Pokotan & Demonio Uno. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki beat Pokotan & Demonio Uno. Sakazaki pinned Uno after a diving body press.

Main Event: Miyu Yamashita vs. Arisu Endo. 20 minute time limit
Result: Miyu Yamashita beat Arisu Endo

If you skip the opening segment and Yamashita with microphone after the main event, the matches last just over an hour and alternate between comedy matches and serious wrestling. The first tag match with the CMLL women participating was very intense at times-Dalys taunted Nakajima by pulling her headgear off during her ring entrance. This could become quite a feud between Japan and Mexico. It’s a nice change of pace and easy to watch.

The next event is Friday at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.

UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 155.
