Stardom 7/21/25 Results

STARDOM SAPPORO RENDEZVOUS 2025, Stardom’s monthly major/blowout event, was held today.

Today’s event was held at Chateraise Gateau Kingdom Sapporo in Hokkaido and can be watched on demand as a PPV on Stardom World. It will be non-paywalled for subscribers in a week or two. You can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 1056.

Match 1: Rian beat Ema Maishima.

Match 2: Future Of Stardom Champion Hina beat Sayaka Kurara to retain the title. V5 for Hina. If she keeps this up she could make a run at the defense record held by…little sister Rina. Imagine that! Long way to go though.

Match 3: Yuria Hime beat Akira Kurogame. As a result, Hime gets into the 5STAR GP.

Match 4: Suzu Suzuki, Rina Yamashita & Bozilla beat AZM, Miyu Amasaki & Mei Seira. Bozilla pinned Amasaki after a piledriver.

Match 5: Ami Sohrei & Lady C beat Hazuki & Koguma, Yuna Mizumori & Aya Sakura and Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO in a 4-way when Sohrei pinned Koguma.

Match 6: Hanan, Saya Iida, Momo Kohgo & Kikyo Furusawa beat Natsuko Tora, Ruaka, Momo Watanabe & Konami. Hanan pinned Ruaka after 17.

Match 7: Wonder Of Stardom Champion Starlight Kid beat Saori Anou to retain the title. V5 for Kid.

Main Event: World Of Stardom Champion Saya Kamitani beat Natsupoi to retain the title. V4 for Kamitani. Another of those pesky Cosmic Angels fails, and deservedly so, to dethrone our PHENEX QUEEN. Embrace the H.A.T.E.

The next event is Thursday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo with 3 title matches before the 5STAR GP begins next weekend. The event could be a legit advance sellout. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 7/21/25 Results

SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25, Tokyo Joshi Pro’s annual July blowout event, is in the books.

Today’s event was held at Ota City General Gym and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. Former DDT wrestler Saki Akai returned to the promotion for the first time in 2 years as a guest on commentary along with former figure skater-turned-sportscaster/entertainment personality Mai Asada. This was also a live ABEMA broadcast in Japan.

The announced paid attendance was 1384.

Match 1: HIMAWARI & Ren Konatsu beat Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami. HIMAWARI pinned Takami after Sun Flower Tempest.

Match 2: Andreza Giant Panda & Raku beat Kyoko Inoue (Diana) & Pom Harajuku. Panda pinned Harajuku after Andreza Press. Inoue was a late replacement for the absent Max The Impaler, who could not travel to Japan due to unspecified health issues.

Match 3: Wakana Uehara, Toga, Mifu Ashida & Kira Summer beat Yuna Manase (Ganbare Pro), Mahiro Kiryu, Kaya Toribami & Chika Nanase. Uehara beat Nanase with Banana Pillow.

Match 4: Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro beat Yuki Kamifuku & Veny (Independent/Freelancer) and Arisu Endo & Jada Stone in a 3-way when Aino pinned Endo.

Match 5: Chris Brookes (DDT) & Emi Sakura (All Elite Wrestling) beat El Desperado (New Japan) & Maki Itoh. Sakura pinned Itoh after Queen’s Gambit.

Match 6: Miyu Yamashita beat Billie Starkz (All Elite Wrestling).

Match 7: Moka Miyamoto beat International Princess Champion Suzume to win the title. Miyamoto becomes the 14th International Princess Champion. Suzume must settle for sharing the successful defenses record of 6 with Yuki Arai now, and I can stop rooting against Suzume as I did only because she beat Arai to win the title (Arai still holds the longest reign record at 1 year). And good for Miyamoto who has shown a lot of improvement over the last couple years since she fought against-and later teamed with-Arai.

Match 8: Princess Tag Team Champions Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao beat Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe to retain the titles. Nakajima pinned Watanabe after a diving senton. V3 for the champs.

Main Event: Princess Of Princess Champion Mizuki beat Yuki Arai to retain the title.V3 for Mizuki. To say I was very UNHAPPY UNHAPPY with this is a massive understatement. I can’t put my feelings in polite terms. Next up: The Tokyo Princess Cup winner, unless it’s-heaven forbid-Mizuki. But this means Arai could get a second chance very soon, which would make me very happy.

Next up is the Tokyo Princess Cup, the promotion’s annual single tournament, starting Sunday at Shinjuku Face. This is a single-elimination bracket-style tournament with a field of 16. However, after they get to the Semifinals they’ll re-draw the pairings, but that still means Arai could get another shot at Mizuki in the Semifinals or Finals (first she has to beat Kamifuku then Uehara or Suzume). Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET.

Sumo-July 2025 Grand Sumo Tournament Day 8 Results (Halfway Point) (7/20/25) (Top 2 Tiers) (Updated)

Here are the quick results from today’s Day 8-the Halfway Point-of the July 2025 Grand Sumo Tournament in Nagoya:
Key: M-Maegashira, K-Komusubi, S-Sekiwake, O-Ozeki, Y-Yokozuna, J-Juryo, Ms-Makushita

Makuuchi (top tier):
Nishikigi (J1) beat Shishi (M17)
Kusano (M14) beat Hidenoumi (M15)
Kayo (M16) beat Fujinokawa (M14)
Churanoumi (M13) beat Kotoeiho (M17)
Kotoshoho (M15) beat Shodai (M13)
Takanosho (M11) beat Mitakeumi (M16)
Midorifuji (M12) beat Tokihayate (M11)
Roga (M10) beat Asakoryu (M12)
Ichiyamamoto (M8) beat Atamifuji (M10)
Tobizaru (M7) beat Chiyoshoma (M9)
Ura (M9) beat Takerufuji (M6)
Hiradoumi (M5) beat Gonoyama (M6)
Meisei (M5) beat Sadanoumi (M8)
Tamawashi (M4) beat Abi (M2)
Aonishiki (M1) beat Oho (M2)
Takayasu (K) beat Wakamotoharu (M1)
Kirishima (S) beat Onokatsu (M3)
Wakatakakage (S) beat Kinbozan (M3)
Oshoma (K) beat Kotozakura (O)
Hakuoho (M4) beat Onosato (Y). KINBOSHI!!! The first career Gold Star Victory for Hakuoho!
Leader: Kirishima, Tamawashi, Ichiyamamoto, Kusano (7-1)
Of note: The 6 co-leaders were trimmed down to 4 today after Onosato & Mitakeumi lost. And I thought Kotozakura had a good matchup against Oshoma today…oops. And while no promotions yet the first demotions were clinched today as Hidenoumi returned after being our 3 days and unfortunately had to face Kusano, which didn’t go well, and Chiyoshoma is also now 0-8 after a loss. Today was the second Kinboshi Onosato has given up this tournament as a new Yokozuna, but his pattern so far has been 3 wins, Kinboshi, 3 wins, Kinboshi. So no panic yet as he should win another 3 in a row now and he’s still only one off the lead. Tomorrow he faces Takayasu, who has been serving as sword-bearer for Onosato’s ring-entering ceremonies. For obvious reasons that won’t be the case tomorrow. Ichiyamamoto gets the honor instead.
Can’t declare Ozeki Watch yet and haven’t but if Kirishima keeps this up, he has a chance at re-promotion. He needs to win his last 7 to get to the unofficial “magic number” of 33 wins over the last 3 tournaments in Sanyaku for promotion chances, but if he can get 13 or maybe 12 a championship could do it as well.

Juryo:
Kitanowaka (Ms3) beat Shimanoumi (J12)
Hatsuyama (J13) beat Shiden (J11)
Nishikifuji (J9) beat Miyanokaze (J14)
Tsurugisho (J9) beat Otsuji (J12)
Fujiseiun (J8) beat Daiamami (J13)
Kotokuzan (J14) beat Kagayaki (J7)
Mita (J11) beat Takarafuji (J7)
Kazekeno (J8) beat Hakuyozan (J5)
Oshoumi (J3) beat Shirokuma (J4)
Tochitaikai (J4) beat Tamashoho (J3)
Daiseizan (J6) beat Shonannoumi (J2)
Tomokaze (J2) beat Tohakuryu (M5)
Ryuden (J1) beat Hitoshi (J6)
Leader: Daiseizan, Nishikifuji (7-1)
Of note: No promotions yet although the co-leaders are about there, but the first demotion will be Shirokuma who fell to 0-8. Otsuji seems to be headed back to Makushita as he is now 1-7 in his Juryo return and must win out to maintain his ranking. Same for Shimanoumi whose latest slow start in Juryo may be his last as he is also 1-7. That win over Shimanoumi also clinched promotion for Kitanowaka so any more wins he can get in Makushita will increase his chances of a Juryo return.

Lower tier notes: Unfortunately Enho has WITHDRAWN ahead of Day 9. Left leg. Nikkan Sports reports it was injured in his Day 7 match. Status uncertain but if he misses Days 11-12 or doesn’t return that’s another demotion and means he won’t make it back to Juryo this year.
With Promotion Day now finished, the Makushita has 7 left at 4-0, with two-Asahakuryu & Kamito-with chances for Juryo promotion. Kamito probably needs to win the championship to be promoted while Asahakuryu probably needs at least one more win. The Sandanme has 10 left at 4-0. The Jonidan has 12 tied for the lead at 4-0 while the Jonokuchi has 4 at 4-0.

UPDATE: Nikkan Sports provided an update on Enho-avulsion fracture in left leg. Tournament over. Status uncertain beyond this. Will be demoted in September due to having equal yo a 2-5 record this time.

New Japan Pro Wrestling 7/20/25 LIVE Results

New Japan runs Day 2 of the G1 CLIMAX 35 Tournament today, and like yesterday it’s all about tournament matches. 10 total matches are set for today with the main event scheduled to be a Block B match of Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Gabriel Kidd. After main eventing Day 1 yesterday Hiroshi Tanahashi is instead in the first match facing Callum Newman. The top Block A match in the semifinal slot today is Taichi vs. Yuya Uemura as the former Just 5/4/3 Guys factionmates square off.

Today’s event will be held at Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center Hokkai Kita Yell in Hokkaido and can be watched LIVE on New Japan World in Japanese and English. All the matches have 30 minute time limits so while it could go over 5 hours it’s more likely to be in the 2 1/2-3 hour range.

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Callum Newman (Block A)
Shota Umino vs. Drilla Moloney (Block B)

Updates below will begin at 10 PM PT/1 AM ET.

10 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE form Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center Hokkai Kita Yell in Hokkaido.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. They drew just under 2600 yesterday (the venue’s capacity is, I believe, at least 3500) so I’ll make an initial guess of 2500 for today. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 2520)

When we start…not a good sign as Gabriel Kidd comes out on crutches, his right knee taped. With microphone in the ring. He asks the ring staff to translate as he speaks in English. Hyperextended knee yesterday. Out today. Status uncertain but Kidd says he is not pulling out of the tournament. Presumably this means the main event today is off and Zack Sabre Jr. wins by forfeit, which would mean Taichi-Yuya Uemura is now the main event. And that is now official.

Zack Sabre Jr. beat Gabriel Kidd by forfeit. Sabre is now 1-1, 2 points. Kidd is 0-2, 0 points.

The matches begin at 10:11 PM PT/1:11 AM ET. All matches are G1 CLIMAX matches, 30 minute time limit. Toru Yano is today’s guest on Japanese commentary.

Since it just finished streaming, you can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube.

I don’t know who the host was alongside Milano Collection A.T. & Yano on Japanese commentary before but your new host starting now is Haruo Murata.

Match 3: Block A: Boltin Oleg vs. Ryohei Oiwa
Result: Boltin Oleg beat Ryohei Oiwa
Both are 1-1, 2 points.

Match 4: Block B: YOSHI-HASHI vs. Ren Narita
Result: YOSHI-HASHI beat Ren Narita. Very short once it started after Narita jumped YOSHI-HASHI during his entrance and laid him out in the crowd.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 7/20/25 LIVE Results (Updated)

Pro Wrestling NOAH holds the second half of their latest 25th Anniversary doubleheader today in Tokyo, which follows the first event earlier today. The matches were decided after the earlier event and the main event will be NEW GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh defending the title against KENTA. Adidtionally, with the New Japan junior heavyweights getting a break for the G1 CLIMAX Tournament, Hiromu Takahashi will participate in today’s event.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. Kenta Kobashi will be a special guest on Japanese commentary. The event is a legit advance sellout including standing room tickets. There are only 6 matches but one is an elimination match and the title match is the main event so it will still be at least a standard length Korakuen event of around 2 1/2 hours, maybe a little longer.

Today’s lineup:
Mohammed Yone & Super Crazy vs. Ulka Sasaki & Junta Miyawaki
Kazuyuki Fujita, Will Kroos & Daiki Odashima vs. Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba & Saxon Huxley
Tetsuya Endo, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf vs. Naomichi Marufuji, Eita & Shuji Kondo
Elimination Match: Jack Morris, Daga, Knull, Tadasuke & Owadasan vs. Kaito Kiyomiya, Galeno, Harutoki, Kai Fujimura & Alejandro
YO-HEY & Yuto Kikuchi vs. Hiromu Takahashi (New Japan) & AMAKUSA
GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh vs. KENTA for the title

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 20 minutes before the event.

7:15 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. It looks like we should be going to the venue in 5 minutes.

7:20 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to the Japanese hosts whose names I didn’t catch, Akitoshi Saito & Go Shiozaki are guests on commentary. Your English hosts are Mark Pickering & Mike Shrouder.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s a legit advance sellout with standing room only tickets also sold out so if it’s like the first event yesterday/today it should be between 1550-1600. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance-a legit advance sellout-was 1592)

The matches should begin in about 15 minutes. During the opening we see a line in the venue for advance ticket purchases for WRESTLE ODYSSEY 2025 on 10/11 at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Once it’s start time, first things first…GRAND SWORD! Our special guest comes out-Kenta Kobashi! Before joining commentary, he heads to the ring first to greet the crowd. He then brings out Kenoh & KENTA, who face each other in the main event. They just stand there as Kobashi briefly speaks before the opening video. And apparently they’ve brought back the definitely-not-natural-chinned/faced G-Man for an English card announcement.

The matches begin at 7:40 PM PT/10:40 PM ET.

Match 1: Mohammed Yone & Super Crazy vs. Ulka Sasaki & Junta Miyawaki. 15 minute time limit
Result: Mohammed Yone & Super Crazy beat Ulka Sasaki & Junta Miyawaki. Yone pinned Miyawaki after Kinniku Muscle Buster. Afterwards, Yone with microphone. He announces a match for his 30th Anniversary event on 8/25: Yone, Naomichi Marufuji & Daisuke Ikeda vs. Go Shiozaki, Shuji Ishikawa & Atsushi Kotoge. So it sounds like that is when Shiozaki may return from his latest extended injury absence.

Match 2: Kazuyuki Fujita, Will Kroos & Daiki Odashima vs. Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba & Saxon Huxley. 20 minute time limit
Result: Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba & Saxon Hucley beat Kazuyuki Fujita, Will Kroos & Daiki Odashima. Huxley pinned Odashima after a neck hanging bomb.

Match 3: Tetsuya Endo, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf vs. Naomichi Marufuji, Eita & Shuji Kondo. 20 minute time limit
Result: Naomichi Marufuji, Eita & Shuji Kondo beat Tetsuya Endo, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf. Eita pinned Bane after Imperial Uno. Afterwards, Eita with microphone. Challenge issued for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship with Kondo as his partner.

Match 4: Jack Morris, Daga, Knull, Tadasuke & Owadasan vs. Kaito Kiyomiya, Galeno, Harutoki, Kai Fujimura & Alejandro in an elimination match. No time limit
In progress. Order of elimination: Fujimura by Owadasam (pinfall), Tadasuke by Kiyomiya (pinfall), Alejandro by Knull (over the top rope), Harutoki by Knull (over the top rope), Daga by Kiyomiya (pinfall), Morris by Galeno (pinfall), Galeno & Knull together (over the top rope), Kiyomiya by Owadasan (over the top rope after OZAWA interference).
Result: Team 2000X wins

Intermission.

The matches resume at 8:52 PM PT/11:52 PM ET.

Match 5: YO-HEY & Yuto Kikuchi vs. Hiromu Takahashi (New Japan) & AMAKUSA. Unknown time limit (didn’t hear it announced if it was)
Result: Hiromu Takahashi & AMAKUSA beat YO-HEY & Yuto Kikuchi. Takahashi pinned YO-HEY after Time Bomb. Afterwards, Takahashi with microphone. Challenge issued for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. Accepted.

Main Event: GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh vs. KENTA for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: KENTA beat GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh to win the title. KENTA becomes the 48th GHC Heavyweight Champion. And the shortest reign in history by a long shot ends at not even 24 hours. I’d say more like about 16 hours. Post-match, KENTA with microphone. He put over and sent Kenoh off then…next up: Marufuji. Given their extensive history together and against each other in NOAH, why not? Marufuji made sure to shake hands with Kobashi & Saito on commentary before leaving like a good proper VP before KENTA finished his promo to end the show.

The next event is Saturday at Kyoto KBS Hall in Kyoto. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 1 AM PT/4 AM ET (originally this was to be on demand only but it’s been changed to a live broadcast).

UPDATE: The post-event news/fallout:
Go Shiozaki will actually return sooner than 8/25. His official return will be on 8/11 at Culttz Kawasaki in Kanagawa when he faces Harutokl in an N-1 Victory qualifier match.

The 3 title matches hinted at today are now official:
The GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match of Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf vs. Eita & Shuji Kondo will happen on 8/3 at Kobe Sambo Hal in Kobe.
GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion YO-HEY vs. Hiromu Takahashi for the title will happen on 8/11.
KENTA-Marufuji will happen on 8/16 at Korakuen.

Owadasan is leaving the promotion, at least for a while, to go overseas. His farewell match will be on 8/16 against OZAWA.

Sumo-July 2025 Grand Sumo Tournament Day 7 Results (7/17/25) (Top 2 Tiers)

Here are the quick results from today’s Day 7-Promotion Day-of the July 2025 Grand Sumo Tournament in Nagoya (and apologies for not posting the results the last several days, it’s not possible during the week now due to work schedule conflicts and not having cell phone/internet access at my new job):
Key: M-Maegashira, K-Komusubi, S-Sekiwake, O-Ozeki, Y-Yokozuna, J-Juryo, Ms-Makushita

Makuuchi (top tier):
Fujinokawa (M14) beat Mitakeumi (M16)
Kusano (M14) beat Kotoeiho (M17)
Shodai (M13) beat Shishi (M17)
Midorifuji (M12) beat Kayo (M17)
Kotoshoho (M15) beat Tokihayate (M11)
Roga (M10) beat Churanoumi (M13)
Atamifuji (M10) beat Asakoryu (M12)
Takanosho (M11) beat Chiyoshoma (M9)
Sadanoumi (M8) beat Tobizaru (M7)
Gonoyama (M6) beat Ura (M9)
Ichiyamamoto (M8) beat Takerufuji (M6)
Hiradoumi (M5) beat Meisei (M5)
Onokatsu (M3) beat Oho (M2)
Abi (M2) beat Wakamotoharu (M1)
Aonishiki (M1) beat Oshoma (K)
Tamawashi (M4) beat Wakatakakage (S)
Kirishima (S) beat Takayasu (K)
Kotozakura (O) beat Hakuoho (M4)
Onosato (Y) beat Kinbozan (M3)
Leader: 6 at 6-1
WITHDRAWALS: Day 5-Hoshoryu (Y), Hidenoumi (M16). Hoshoryu-toe. Out 4 weeks. Tournament over. He wanted to push through it but stablemaster Tatsunami talked him out of it. Aggravated the injury in a loss earlier this week to Aonishiki, one of 3 straight Kinboshi-granting losses. That is BAD. That means since promotion he has gone 5 days & withdrawal (5-5-5), 12-3 and runner-up including handing champion Onosato his only loss in May, 5 days & withdrawal (1-4-10). This tournament also includes an absolutely embarrassing blown call by the chief referee when Hoshoryu was decvalred the winner when he had clearly been forced out of the ring first.
Hidenoumi-right calf. Will return tomorrow. Will be the equivalent of 0-7 so he must win out to avoid likely demotion to Juryo.
Also of note: Daieisho is officially out for the entire tournament. His iron man career streak (excluding 2 coronavirus protocol-related absences) ended when he missed the first day.
Of note today-wise: The last unbeaten fell as Mitakeumi’s surprise unbeaten start was ended by Fujinokawa, who since an 0-2 start in his top tier debut now has won 5 straight. Also quite an early match when Kayo got Kayo’d trying to pull a HENKA! on Midorifuji but it was perfectly read and caught and the MUCH SMALLER Midorifuji quickly bulldozed Kayo out to 0-7, one more loss sends him back to Juryo with demotion. That being said, seeing a 400-pound-plus wrestler try to pull that off is still incredible. They are much more agile than you’d think. Watch for a potential Takerufuji withdrawal as he injured his right arm/bicep in a Day 6 win and it clearly is affecting him now. If he can’t finish the tournament, his top tier position is almost certainly safe as he currently is 4-3. The leaderboard includes Onosato among the 6 co-leaders plus rookie Kusano and, proving age does mean nothing, Iron Man Tamawashi. And hopefully Kotozakura is back on track too, after another shaky 1-2 start the lone Ozeki has now won 4 straight and a badly slumping Oshoma tomorrow could make it 5 and keep him one off the pace.

Juryo:
Daiamami (J13) beat Otsuji (J12)
Mita (J11) beat Miyanokaze (J14)
Kotokuzan (J14) beat Tsurugisho (J9)
Nishikifuji (J9) beat Hatsuyama (J13)
Takarafuji (J7) beat Shimanoumi (J12)
Shiden (J11) beat Kaayaki (J7)
Daiseizan (J6) beat Kazekwno (J8)
Hitoshi (J6) beat Fujiseiun (J8)

Lower tier notes:
Today is the first half of Promotion Day, where those leading the divisions usually finish the days with 4 wins and thus clinch promotions for the next tournament. So far in the Makushita 7 have reached that mark to share the lead, this means co-leader Asahakuryu at Ms3 will have a chance at Juryo promotion in September. He does need one more to make it certain. Asanoyama? 2-2 after a loss today so he must win at least 2 of his last 3 to return to Juryo next time. Enho is also 2-2 and can’t be promoted up next time. In the Sandanme, 3 are currently 4-0 with nearly 20 more trying to earn promotion tomorrow. The Jonidan has 8 at 4-0 with 3 more going for that tomorrow, while the Jonokuchi has one at 4-0 with 4 more trying for promotion tomorrow.

Reminder: NHK World Japan will have 50 minutes of LIVE top tier coverage in English tomorrow beginning at 1:10 AM PT/4:10 AM ET.
