Main Event: Best Of The Super Junior Finals: Kosei Fujita beat Yoh to win the tournament. Fujita becomes the youngest BOSJ winner in history. As a result, Fujita also gets an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship shot in the near future.

The next event is DOMINION, the annual June blowout event, on 6/15 at Osaka-jo Hall in Osaka. Live streaming on New Japan World OUTSIDE JAPAN ONLY will begin at midnight PT/3 AM ET. This will be a live & exclusive TV Asahi broadcast in Japan.

Also coming up before then is a New Japan/DDT crossover event focused on a Toru Yano vs. Super Sasadango Machine match on 6/9 at Korakuen Hall. That event will be a live PPV on both New Japan World and WRESTLE UNIVERSE for 2500 Japanese yen (around $17 US) beginning at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.

6/2/25 UPDATE: At today’s customary post-tournament presser, it was confirmed the title match between Desperado & Fujita will not happen at DOMINION. There is a chance of it happening on 6/24 at Korakuen Hall at an El Desperado Produced event although Desperado wants to defend the title against Jun Sakai that day. That is not yet official so officially the date is TBA. I’m thinking either 7/4 at Tokyo Budokan (Nippon Budokan?) or 7/6 at Korakuen.

Also announced today by Stardom were upcoming IWGP Women’s Championship matches: Syuri will make her first title defense Friday (6/6/25) vs. Alex Windsor at a Pro Wrestling EVE event in England. You may be able to watch that match on YouTube although it will likely be paywalled. Whoever comes out as champion will defend in Stardom on 6/21/25 at Yoyogi National Stadium Gym 2 vs. Sareee. That will, while not yet announced, almost definitely be a PPV on Stardom World.

UPDATE 2: DDT has now announced Fujita will make his first appearance in the promotion on their 7/13 event. He will be in a tag match with TBA, billed as his “friend”, as his partner.

UPDATE 3: It’s now official-El Desperado vs. Jun Kasai on 6/24 will be for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

UPDATE 4: Following up on Update 2 above, said “friend” teaming with Fujita on 7/13 in DDT is Takeshi Masada. They will face To-y & Yuya Koroku.

All-Japan Pro Wrestling 6/1/25 LIVE Results (Updated x2)

All-Japan kicks off their June tour, the Super Power Series 2025, today with a major event in Sendai. 3 title matches headline the event starting with an All-Japan World junior Heavyweight Championship match as new champion Seiki Yoshioka defends for the first time against Dan Tamura. The second title match sees All-Japan World Tag Team Champions Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi, the landmark 100th champions, make their first defense against Shotaro Ashino & Xyon. Finally, in the main event, it’s a brotherly affair as Jun Saito defends the Triple Crown against his brother Rei Saito, this year’s Champions Carnival winner. Two things for sure-I’ll be happy no matter how this match ends and afterwards, it will be all about DOOM!!!

There has been a last-minute change to the card because Taishin Nagao is now off the event. Unspecified injury. He was to have faced Hideki Suzuki. Takashi, the former Takashi Yoshida who is now using just his first name as announced recently by home promotion Dragon Gate, is the replacement.

Today’s event will be held at Sendai Sun Plaza in Sendai and can be watched LIVE on AJPW.TV in Japanese. It will also be taped for broadcast on GAORA SPORTS in Japan at a later date. There will be an intermission before the title matches (the last 3) so it’s going to be a long event, based on the later TV broadcast schedules I’d anticipate it running about 3 1/2 hours so I may not make it all the way through. And you never know because of that Kuroshio TOKYO Japan guy being on the card with his unpredictable entrance antics.

Today’s lineup:
Hideki Suzuki vs. Takashi (Takashi Yoshida)
Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan vs. Jack Kennedy & Aizawa No. 1
MUSASHI, Rising Hayato & Ryo Inoue vs. Atsuki Aoyagi, Fuminori Abe & Seigo Tachibana
Yuma Anzai, Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe vs. Hokuto Omori, Kumaarashi & TBA (only being called XXL)
Intermission
All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Seiki Yoshioka vs. Dan Tamura for the title
All-Japan World Tag Team Champions Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi vs. Shotaro Ashino & Xyon for the titles
All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Jun Saito vs. Rei Saito for the Triple Crown

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 10 PM PT/1 AM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 5 minutes before the event.

9:57 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Sendai Sun Plaza in Sendai, Japan. Commentary will begin later.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Advance tickets sales were strong and a legit sellout is possible, the venue’s listed capacity is just over 2700 but looks a setup closer to 2500 and that will be my prediction. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 2239)

Opening announcements begin the broadcast.

The matches begin at 10:07 PM PT/1:07 AM ET. Commentary starts now. Not sure who the host is but Kagehiro Osano is also on commentary.

Match 1: Hideki Suzuki vs. Takashi (Takashi Yoshida). 15 minute time limit
Result: Hideki Suzuki beat Takashi by submission. Largely a comedy match including brawling through the building at one point, leaving us thinking maybe it got thrown out.

Match 2: Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan vs. Jack Kennedy & Aizawa No. 1. 20 minute time limit
Result: Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan beat Jack Kennedy & Aizawa No. 1. Smith pinned 1 after Bulldog Bomb.

Match 3: MUSASHI, Rising Hayato & Ryo Inoue vs. Atsuki Aoyagi, Fuminori Abe & Seigo Tachibana. 30 minute time limit
Result: Atsuki Aoyagi, Fuminori Abe & Seigo Tachibana beat MUSASHI, Rising Hayato & Ryo Inoue. Aoyagi pinned Inoue after Firebird Splash.

Match 4: Yuma Anzai, Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe vs. Hokuto Omori, Kumaarashi & TBA (only being called XXL). 30 minute time limit. After everyone else enters, Omori reveals XXL is, well, XXL. Big man foreigner (tall, maybe legit 7 feet). I think they call him Taros.
Result: Hokuto Omori, Kumaarashi & Taros beat Yuma Anzai, Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe. Taros pinned Ayabe after a chokeslam.

Intermission.

The matches resume at 11:47 PM PT. Longer than usual intermission (20 minutes). The Sendai return date is 10/13 at Nikko Arena. (Kakuda City General Gym in Miyagi, it will be a Saito Brothers hometown event)

Match 5: All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Seiki Yoshioka vs. Dan Tamura for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Seiki Yoshioka beat Dan Tamura to retain the title. V1 for Yoshioka. (UPDATE: Next up: If Yoshioka gets his wish, either Naruki Doi or possibly Tamura again. Most likely Doi)

Match 6: All-Japan World Tag Team Champions Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi vs. Shotaro Ashino & Xyon for the titles. 1 Hour time limit
Result: All-Japan World Tag Team Champions Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi beat Shotaro Ashino & Xyon to retain the titles. Miyahara pinned Xyon with a shutdown suplex hold. V1 for the champs. (UPDATE: Next up: Madoka Kikuta and TBA, at least that’s what Aoyagi wants. Miyahara said that match will happen on 6/18 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo).

Main Event: All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Jun Saito vs. Rei Saito for the Triple Crown. 1 Hour time limit
Result: All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Jun Saito beat Rei Saito to retain the Triple Crown. V4 for Jun Saito. Next up: Hideki Suzuki.

The next event is 6/14 at Juroku Plaza in Gifu. There will be no live broadcast. On demand later that day.

UPDATE 2: More post-event news:
The new Hokuto army member’s name is Talos according to a more accurate translation (not Taros as I thought). And because Hokuto Omori is so obsessed with keeping the titles, Talos will team with Omori & Aizawa No. 1 for an All-Japan AJPW.TV 6-Man Tag Team Championship match on 6/14 against champions Omori, Kumaarashi & Takashi. Inter-faction warfare!

As far as the other title matches above, the All-Japan World Tag Team Championship match is now official for 6/18. TBA teaming with Madoka Kikuta will be KAI. Also set for 6/18 is Jun Saito-Hideki Suzuki fro the Triple Crown and Yoshioka vs. Naruki Doi for the All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Championship. Other matches TBA.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 6/1/25 LIVE Results (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the spring 2025 house show tour today in Nagoya, returning for the first time since Yuki Arai’s emotional farewell to SKE48 at the end of March. Now she comes home for the first time as a full-time pro wrestler, and with a top-selling photobook as well that marked her true idol rite-of-passage, and she is in the main event. It’s a unique match that starts as an 8-woman tag elimination match but when it’s over, the winners-if more than one winner remains-face off in a series of elimination matches with the last woman standing getting the next shot at Mizuki for the Princess of Princess Championship, so it’s a huge opportunity. Elsewhere, a new trainee begins her pro career today at Ren Konatsu, with her full name now given (previously she was just Konatsu), will debut today against Suzume.

Today’s event will be held at Chunichi Hall in Nagoya and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. You can also watch the entire live broadcast FOR FREE on YouTube. There will be no on demand replay available on YouTube afterwards, only on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. There is a DDT event at the venue later today so they will be on the close as to how long the event can go-with how the main event is structured it may run a little longer than a standard house show so I’ll predict it’ll go 2 1/4-2 1/2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Ren Konatsu Debut Match: Ren Konatsu vs. Suzume
Yoshiko Hasegawa & Moka Miyamoto vs. Toga & Chika Nanase
Rika Tatsumi, Wakana Uehara & Mifu Ashida vs. Mahiro Kiryu, Shino Suzuki & Ivy Steele
Mizuki vs. Uta Takami
Shoko Nakajima & Haru Kazashiro vs. Kaya Toribami & HIMAWARI
Maki Itoh, Yuki Arai, Pom Harajuku & Arisu Endo vs. Miu Watanabe, Yuki Kamifuku, Yuki Aino & Jada Stone in an elimination match. Over the top rope rules in effect. If there is just one left on the winning team at the end, they get a Princess Of Princess Championship match in the future. If more than one winner remains, then either a single match, 3-way or 4-way elimination match will be held depending on how many remain until there is just one left. That one gets the title shot

Updates below will begin at 8 PM PT/11 PM ET. The WRESTLE UNIVERSE broadcast is scheduled to begin 15 minutes before the event. The YouTube broadcast is scheduled to begin at event time.

7:45 PM PT UPDATE: The WRESTLE UNIVERSE broadcast has begun. We should be going to the venue in 10-15 minutes.

7:56 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Chunichi Hall in Nagoya, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. The venue’s max capacity is roughly 600 but they’ll be using a smaller setup this time as the ring is on the floor and not the stage, which suggests a setup for maybe 450-500. I’ll predict the total crowd will be close to 400. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 426, a super full house/very near sellout)

The opening announcements and YouTube stream should start in a couple minutes.

8 PM PT UPDATE: The YouTube broadcast is now live. It will only be up for the live broadcast, no on demand replays.

No Raku for Up Up Girls today as she was in Thailand for Setup Pro Wrestling, and it appears she lost the Setup All-Asia Championship to Matcha, who becomes the 3rd Champion. She was the first before losing it to Pom Harajuku.

The matches begin at 8:15 PM PT/11:15 PM ET.

Match 1: Ren Konatsu Debut Match: Ren Konatsu vs. Suzume. 15 minute time limit
Result: Suzume beat Ren Konatsu by submission. A fine debut effort by Konatsu, she looked unsteady at times but had her moments and also some vocal supporters in the crowd. Hopefully with time and more experience she will become another solid rising star in the promotion.

New ring-announcer-in-training Rise Suzuki takes over for Sayuri Namba for now as she continues preparing to take over full-time (they’re alternating matches today). New referee Pumi also comes in for the next match, she just debuted a couple weeks ago.

Match 2: Yoshiko Hasegawa & Moka Miyamoto vs. Toga & Chika Nanase. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yoshiko Hasegawa & Moka Miyamoto beat Toga & Chika Nanase. Miyamoto beat Nanase with Rashomon.

Match 3; Rika Tatsumi, Wakana Uehara & Mifu Ashida vs. Mahiro Kiryu, Shino Suzuki & Ivy Steele. 20 minute time limit
Result: Rika Tatsumi, Wakana Uehara & Mifu Ashida beat Mahiro Kiryu, Shino Suzuki & Ivy Steele. Tatsumi beat Steele with White Dragon Sleeper.

Match 4: Mizuki vs. Uta Takami. 15 minute time limit
Result: Mizuki beat Uta Takami. There was a Takami fan who clearly wasn’t Japanese as he kepy pronouncing her first name wrong. Also appreciate fans booing Mizuki at titmes when she acted heel-ish. Mizuki is one of 2 TJPW wrestlers I’ll never like or cheer for (the other? Maki Itoh).

Match 5: Shoko Nakajima & Haru Kazashiro vs. Kaya Toribami & HIMAWARI. 20 minute time limit. Noteworthy: HIMAWARI was sporting an eyepatch over her left eye. Working through an injury?
Result: Shoko Nakajima & Haru Kazashiro beat Kaya Toribami & HIMAWRI. Nakajima pinned Toribami with a Northern Lights suplex hold. (They’re facing off soon for Nakajima’s MLW Women’s Featherweight Championship so there’s beef and Nakajima showed it by taunting Toribami post-match)

Main Event: Maki Itoh, Yuki Arai, Pom Harajuku & Arisu Endo vs. Miu Watanabe, Yuki Kamifuku, Yuki Aino & Jada Stone in an elimination match. Over the top rope rules in effect in addition to pinfalls and submissions. If there is just one left on the winning team at the end, they get a Princess Of Princess Championship match in the future. If more than one winner remains, then either a single match, 3-way or 4-way elimination match will be held depending on how many remain until there is just one left. That one gets the title shot. No time limit
Result: Maki Itoh, Yuki Arai, Pom Harajuku & Arisu Endo beat Miu Watanabe, Yuki Kamifuku, Yuki Aino & Jada Stone. Order of elimination: Kamifuku by Itoh (over the top rope), Harajuku by Watanabe (submission), Stone by Itoh (over the top rope), Itoh by Aino & Watanabe (over the top rope), [at this point if a second match between winners happens it will now be a single match] Watanabe by Endo (over the top rope), Aino by Endo (over the top rope). Endo & Arai win, which means we continue! Right to…
Impromptu match: Yuki Arai vs. Arisu Endo
Result: Yuki Arai beat Arisu Endo. As a result, Arai gets a future Princess Of Princess Championship shot. OMG!!! YES YES YES!!! Could Arai beat Mizuki at SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25 if it happens then? HAPPY HAPPY!!! Will it happen then? We should find out later today. I can’t wait! (Post-show note: If all goes as planned it will be at SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25)

The next event is Saturday at Club eX in Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET.

UPDATE: It’s now official. Mizuki-Arai will happen at SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25 on 7/21 at Ota City General Gym in Tokyo.

The paid attendance was not announced but there also were free activities.

Match 1: KANON won a 7 man battle royal, last eliminating Poision Sawada JULIE. As a result, KANON but to be publicity ambassador for the day. After this…
Poison Sawada JULIE beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Pocotan’s Head to win the title. JULIE becomes the 1748th Champion. Yes, a costumed wrestler’s head. Afterwards, JULIE announced a new belt for the title will be revealed on 6/29 at Korakuen Hall, which ironically is the 25th anniversary of the title.

Match 2: Kazusada Higuchi, Yuya Koroku & Daichi Sato beat Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani & MJ Paul. Higuchi pinned Paul after a lariat.

A talk show event was held with Yuki Iino, who is currently out due to injury, and former wrestler Saki Akai making a special appearance.

Main Event: Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & To-y beat Chris Brookes, HARASHIMA & Takeshi Masada. Ueno pinned Masada after Everyone’s Madmax. Naturally this event finished like these events usually do-with a Heatwave WER!!

The next event is tomorrow at Chunichi Hall in Nagoya with a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship match. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 1 AM PT/4 AM ET.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 5/31/25 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the spring house show tour today in Tokyo, visiting Nerima for the first time in 4 years.

Today’s event was held at Nerima Coconeri Hall in Tokyo and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 238, a super full house/very near sellout.

There were some last-minute changes to the card due to a number of absences-Kira Summer, Hyper Misao & Neko Haruna are all out due to injuries. While not affecting the card, also absent were Raku (also off tomorrow) and Yuki Kamifuku due to international excursions. Kamifuku should be back for the next event.

During opening announcements, it was announced that Max The Impaler will return to TJPW at SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25 on 7/21. Also today is the on-sale date for Sayuri Namba’s new photobook which she says will also be available online worldwide.

Match 1: Tokyo Princess Cup Qualifier League: Moka Miyamoto beat Mahiro Kiryu. As a result, Miyamoto advances to the final qualifiers.

A scheduled Tokyo Princess Cup Qualifier League match between Wakana Uehara & Kira Summer was POSTPONED due to a Summer injury. She is expected to be out 4 weeks as of earlier this week. If Summer can return by June 22 the match will be rescheduled. If not, Uehara will win by forfeit and advance.

Match 2: Miu Watanabe, Wakana Uehara & Ivy Steele beat Pom Harajuku, HIMAWARI & Haru Kazashiro. Watanabe beat Kazashiro with a Canadian backbreaker.

Match 3: Rika Tatsumi & Yuki Aino beat Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida. Tatsumi pinned Ashida after Twist Of Fate.

Match 4: Mizuki & Jada Stone beat Maki Itoh & Ura Takami. Stone pinned Takami after Spark Stunner. Based on a post-match promo, Takami may now be part of a new faction Itoh is assembling.

Match 5: Kaya Toribami, Toga & Shino Suzuki beat Shoko Nakajima, Arisu Endo & Chika Nanase. Toribami pinned Nanase.

Main Event: International Princess Champion Suzume beat Yoshiko Hasegawa to retain the title. V6 for Suzume. That ties the record for most successful defenses set just this past year by Arai, so if a V7 comes that admittedly won’t sit well with me (I like Suzume but only want her to lose the title because she beat Arai to win it).

The next event is tomorrow at Chunichi Hall in Nagoya, which will feature a unique match starting as an 8-woman tag then becoming an elimination match for the next Princess Of Princess Championship match and the debut of a new wrestler. This is also Yuki Arai’s return to her hometown for the first time since her departure from SKE48 following her final performances in March. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin TONIGHT at 8 PM PT/11 PM ET and you will also be able to watch the live broadcast FOR FREE on YouTube (on demand will only be available on WRESTLE UNIVERSE).

There was a last-minute change to the event due to Suzu Suzuki being pulled off the event. The always-vague poor health. She was to have been in a battle royal. There was no replacement announced.

There was an Actress Girls segment and match pre-show.

BREAKING: Sumo-The Empire Defeats The G.O.A.T. (Updated x2)

Okay, that’s just my punny thinking but in a new YouTube update from reliable English-language sumo reporter Chris Sumo, that’s what has happened-the current stablemaster Miyagino aka ex-Yokozuna Hakuho, the greatest ever and then some, is done. He submitted his retirement papers today to the Japan Sumo Association, but they will not be accepted yet because this is a week of celebration in Japan because of the promotion of Onosato to Yokozuna. Chris Sumo reports a board meeting will happen Monday where the fate of Miyagino Beya may be settled along with Isegahama Beya possibly being handed over to fellow ex-Yokozuna Terunofuji who just retired in January (the current Isegahama must retire before the July tournament because he turns 65 before then, which is the mandatory retirement age in sumo). And Hakuho submits his retirement papers again. Cue the various sports comparisons…and me walking back my thoughts on Takarafuji perhaps retiring because it seems he’s not getting Isegahama after all. At least not until maybe next year.

More as it becomes available.

UPDATE: In an update posted after today’s Onosato Yokozuna debut ring-entering ceremony at Meiji Shrine in Tokyo (moved indoors and closed to the public due to rain but some fans did show up and watch from outside), it was reported Isegahama will submit Hakuho’s retirement papers on his behalf Monday and Hakuho reportedly said he would “never answer to/work under Terunofuji”. Considering it was Hakuho who introduced the man to sumo and recommended him to his stable before the future Yokozuna would move to Isegahama…clearly no love lost between the iconic Mongolians. And the rain today is thought to be a symbol of this split…when it rains it pours as they always say. This is far from over.

UPDATE 2: It’s now official. Accepted on 6/2 Japan time by the Japan Sumo Association. He possibly has already returned to his native Mongolia.

Injury Report: Another Major Scare Today (Updated)

At today’s Big Japan Pro Wrestling event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, there was a major scare as Daisuke Sekimoto, a veteran who is a “pure” wrestler in the mostly hardcore/deathmatch-oriented promotion and appears regularly in other promotions, was injured after hitting a swinging DDT in a tag match and he went down and did not move. The match was immediately stopped and Sekimoto was rushed to an emergency room, where he was examined and reported numbness in his arms & neck. Fortunately initial scans revealed no abnormalities, paralysis or serious neck/spinal cord injuries and, according to a social media post by Big Japan, Sekimoto reportedly has been or will be discharged today and will visit a hospital in Yokohama for further examination. The numbness was mild and should go away in time and he had movement in all extremities.

I join other wrestlers and fans in sending prayers and beat wishes to Sekimoto for a full and speedy recovery.

UPDATE: Big Japan’s latest update as of 5/31/25: Sekimoto is home and will undergo further examinations at a hospital in Yokohama on 6/2 (Monday) Japan time. He will be out at least a month and they will consult with doctors regarding his status for July and beyond, with his health a top priority.
