AEW Rampage 11/4/22 Results (SPOILERS!)

Here are the quick results from tonight’s LIVE AEW Rampage from Atlantic City, NJ (SPOILERS for west feed viewers):

Mike Tyson was a guest on commentary, but only for the first match.

AEW All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy beat Katsuyori Shibata (New Japan Pro Wrestling) to retain the title.

Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter beat Madison Rayne & Slye Blue. Hayter pinned Rayne after a ripcord lariat.

Samoa Joe & Wardlow beat Gates Of Agony (Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun). Wardlow pinned Kaun after the 4 powerbombs.

The full World Title Eliminator Tournament bracket was revealed: Quarterfinals are Eddie Kingston vs. Ethan Page, Bandido vs. Rush, Lance Archer vs. Ricky Starks and Brian Cage vs. Dante Martin. Kingston-Page is on Dynamite next week, the rest are on Rampage next week. Finals are at Full Gear with the winner getting an AEW World Title shot at Winter Is Coming aka the 12/14 Dynamite.

Disappointing show overall especially with Tyson only on for the first match, which is the only reason to watch.

Added to Full Gear: AEW Tag Team Champions The Acclaimed vs. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland for the titles and ROH World Champion Chris Jericho vs. Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli & Sammy Guevara in a 4-way for the title.

Next week on Dynamite in addition to what was announced Wednesday and Kingston-Page: Bryan Danielson vs. Sammy Guevara in a 2 of 3 Falls match, Hayter-Blue, Jon Moxley speaks and Tony Schiavone interviews Britt Baker & Saraya.

DDT 11/3/22 Results

DDT continues the D KING Grand Prix 2022 today as part of a doubleheader with Ganbare Pro, who ran their event before this one.

Today’s event was held at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 239, a super full house/very near sellout.

During the opening announcements, Yuki Urno came out for the opening shout and to promote his new side hustle-he is now an actor. Ueno is currently starring in a popular series on TV Kanagawa in Kanagawa Prefecture, a modern re-imagining of legendary samurai Nobunaga Oda and others in today’s Japan as teenagers and roommates. If you’ve played any Koei (now Koei Tecmo Games) games over the last 40 years, namely any of the “Nobunaga’s Ambition” or “Samurai Warriors” games (also “Warriors Orochi”), you’ll know these names.

Match 1: Jun Akiyama, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku beat Takao Soma, Toui Kojima & Takeshi Masada. Okada pinned Kojima after Sudden Death.

Match 2: HARASHIMA produced match: In a Blindfolded Breasts Match, a comedy match where everyone wore bras and the match also ended when someone’s bra was stripped off, Antonio Honda & Shunma Katsumata beat HARASHIMA & Kazuki Hirata. Katsumata beat HARASHIMA by bra stripping. Afterwards, HARASHIMA admitted he lost “because I’m training”. This is classic “Only In DDT” stuff.

Match 3: D KING GP Block B: Yuji Hino beat KANON.

Match 4: D KING GP Block B: Yukio Naya beat MAO.

Match 5: Rickey Shane Page, Chris Brookes & Masa Takanashi beat Kazusada Higuchi, Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida. Page pinned Ishida after a backdrop.

Match 6: D KING GP Block A: Yuki Ueno beat Joey Janela.

Main Event: D KING GP Block A: Tetsuya Endo vs. Daisuke Sasaki went to a 30 minute time limit draw.

After 2 days, Endo leads Block A at 1-0-1, 3 points. Hino leads Block B at 2-0, 4 points. Not everybody has been in two matches yet though.

The next event is Saturday, which will also be this month’s DDT FREE event with free admission. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT.

AEW Dynamite 11/2/22 Results

Here are the quick results from last night’s AEW Dynamite in Baltimore, MD:

Jay Lethal beat Darby Allin. Jeff Jarrett interfered late. Jarrett has now signed with AEW and will also be in a backstage/corporate role.

Jon Moxley beat Lee Moriarty.

Renee Paquette did a quick sitdown with Saraya. Britt Baker was supposed to be there but no-showed.

Billy Gunn Birthday Bash with The Acclaimed. It ended when Gunn Club crashed the party (Austin & Colten are Billy’s real-life sons). This led to The Acclaimed & FTR vs. Gunn Club, Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland next week.

Baker talked to Tony Schiavone instead of Renee.

ROH World Champion Chris Jericho beat a former ROH Champion, who turned out to be Colt Cabana, to retain the title. Consider CM Punk definitely done with AEW now.

AEW All-Atlantic Champion Orange Cassidy beat Luchasaurus & Rey Fenix in a 3-way by pinning Fenix to retain the title. Jungle Boy interfered to take Luchasaurus out. As a result, Cassidy defends against anyone of his choice tomorrow on Rampage. That was immediately revealed as Katsuyori Shibata from New Japan Pro Wrestling.

AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill beat Matina Shafir to retain the title. 41-0. Nyla Rose & Vickie Guerrero did “commentary” during the match. It was that bad.

ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe beat Brian Cage to retain the title. The Embassy beatdown on Joe afterwards until Wardlow made the save, but that allowed Powerhouse Hobbs to sneak in for a massive spinebuster to end the show.

I missed the first match but, excluding that, I didn’t care for this one. It was a Dynamite that happened.

Friday on a LIVE Rampage: Cassidy-Shibata, Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter vs. Madison Rayne & Skye Blue and the return of Mike Tyson (he will be a guest on commentary). Also more participants for the next AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

Next week: The Acclaimed & FTR vs. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland & Gunn Club.

Announced for Full Gear: AEW Interim Women’s Champion Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter for the title.

Ganbare Pro Wrestling “Dirty Hero 2022” Results (11/3/22) (Updated)

Ganbare Pro Wrestling is running their monthly big show today, headlined by a Spirit of Ganbare World Openweight Championship match. It’s been almost exclusively held by outsiders, with current champion Hartley Jackson being from Australia (prior champion Yumehito Imanari doesn’t count in my book, he is from parent group DDT when he breaks away from those deplorable Pheromons to appear on Ganbare). After turning back the valiant challenge of Gambare Joshi flagbearer Yuna Manase, Jackson today defends against Shuichiro Katsumura, who will try to become the 4th champion in history and first true Ganbare wrestler to hold the title.

Of note for US fans-All Elite Wrestling’s Willow Nightingale, who made her Japan debut last week in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, is featured in a women’s tag team match today as she continues her inaugural Japan tour. It started off well in TJPW and today she’ll be facing off against Manase.

Today’s event will be held at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There likely will be no commentary. It’s a midday matinee in Japan meaning a late-night start in the US. If you’re giving up sleep post-AEW to watch I anticipate the event runtime will be around 2 hours. Nightingale is to be in the second match.

Today’s lineup:
Tsuyoshi Okada vs. Yuki Kanzaki
Yuna Manase & Yoshiko Hasegawa vs Willow Nightingale & Moeka Haruhi
Ken Ohka & YuuRI vs. Yumehito Imanari & HARUKAZE
Keisuke Ishii & Takao Soma vs. Mizuki Watase & Toui Kojima
Koki Iwasaki vs. Shinichiro Tominaga
Spirit of Ganbare World Openweight Champion Hartley Jackson vs. Shuichiro Katsumura for the title

11:30 PM ET UPDATE: Live results begin now.

We are LIVE from Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama, Japan. There is no commentary.
The opening greeting & start shout is being done by HARUKAZE & Shuichiro Kawamatsu.
The paid attendance will be announced after the event. This is a very small venue and the crowd is still tiling in but around ringside it looks close to full so I’ll predict it’ll be around 200. The venue’s max capacity is about 300. Also this is a hard-camera only setup so you’ll have that “being at a house show” feeling.

Match 1: Tsuyoshi Okada vs. Yuki Kanzaki. 30 minute time limit
Result: Tsuyoshi Okada beat Yuki Kanzaki by submission

Match 2: Yuna Manase & Yoshiko Hasegawa vs Willow Nightingale (All Elite Wrestling) & Moeka Haruhi. 30 minute time limit
Result: Willow Nightingale & Moeka Haruhi beat Yuna Manase & Yoshiko Hasegawa. Nightingale pinned Hasegawa after Doctor Bomb. Fun match with a solid performance by Nightingale. Manase & Nightingale had a good hoss fight sequence and would make a great single match.

Match 3: Ken Ohka & YuuRI vs. Yumehito Imanari & HARUKAZE. 30 minute time limit
Result: Yumehito Imanari & HARUKAZE beat Ken Ohka & YuuRI. HARUKAZE pinned YuuRI after Flame Spear.

Match 4: Keisuke Ishii & Takao Soma vs. Mizuki Watase & Toui Kojima. 30 minute time limit
Result: Mizuki Watase & Toui Kojima beat Keisuke Ishii & Takao Soma. Watase pinned Soma after a backdrop suplex.

Intermission. If this is in the replay you can skip 15 minutes ahead.

We resume at 12:50 AM ET/9:50 PM PT.

DDT 11/1/22 Results

DDT began the D KING Grand Prix today, a round-robin format tournament to determine who will get to face KO-D Openweight Champion Kazusada Higuchi for the title at the year-assuming of course Higuchi doesn’t win the tournament. (He’s defending the title regardless but this could complicate determining the next challenger)

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 411.

Pre-show Match: Danshoku Dieno, Yuki Iino & Koju Takeda vs. Toru Owashi, Makoto Oishi & Kazuki Hirata (with Akito) went to a no contest. GM Imabayashi stoppage. The comedy storyline here is Akito is now in charge of subjugating those despicable Pheromons. It didn’t start well.

During the opening announcements, DDT announced a business partnership with Sun Music Production Co. Ltd. to expand entertainment opportunities for wrestlers (much like what is common in New Japan Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH among others, where their wrestlers frequently appear on TV and radio in Japan.
