DDT 6/26/24 Results

DDT tan another of their wacky “only in DDT” events, a single match event billed as a showdown between Sanshiro Takagi, who is preparing to step back from regular conpetition, and Super Sasadango Machine. In particular they tried to sell many types of tickets with benefits at prices up to 1 million yen (only one, and the buyer got an actual wristwatch worn by Takagi if it sold. As of late last night it had not).

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 346, a super full house/very near sellout. Not all were actually at the venue though.

The event started with introductory speeches and bell ringings by those in designated seats. Then all 51 seat types sold and their respective roles were explained. A few seats that were reserved for pro wrestlers then were revealed and said wrestlers showed up. They includes Toru Yano (New Japan), Cherry (Independent/Freelancer, formerly of now-defunct Union Pro) and more. Much hilarity and DDT wackiness ensued until eventually…

Main Event: Toru Yano beat Super Sasadango Machine. The whole thing went almost 67 minutes. When it was over, Takagi & Machine entrusted Konosuke Takeshita with getting revenge against New Japan.

There are 2 events coming up Saturday: First is another one-match event, this to be held on an actual train departing from Tokyo, between Sanshiro Takagi & Minoru Suzuki. There will be no live broadcast, but it will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE early Monday morning with commentary. The second event is WHAT ARE YOU DOING? 2024 at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET. Live results are scheduled.

DEVELOPING: Another GLEAT Departure

During the overnight hours GLEAT announced that Maya Fukuda has left the promotion. While it will be effective July 1, she has already had her last match as a member of the promotion. Contract expiring and will not be renewed. Presumably she will continue as a freelancer. Fukuda mostly competed in Lidet UWF bouts and an occasional women’s match.

All-Japan 6/24/24 Results (Updated)

All-Japan wrapped up the Super Power Series 2024 Tour today with an event in Tokyo.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV.

The announced paid attendance was 1235.

Pre-show Match: Actress Girls Match: Miku Aono & Ayano Irie beat Natsu Aoi & Nagisa Shiotsuki. Aono pinned Irie after Teardrop Angel.

Match 1: Fuminori Abe beat GAORA TV Champion Seigo Tachibana to win the title. Abe becomes the 26th GAORA TV Champion.

Match 2: Ryo Inoue Return Match: Hokuto Omori, Kumaarashi, Hartley Jackson & Cyrus beat Kento Miyahara, Suwama, Shotaro Ashino & Ryo Inoue. Omori pinned Ashino after a frog splash.

Match 3: In a No DQ Match, Yuma Aoyagi beat Kuroshio TOKYO Japan.

Match 4: Seiki Yoshioka & MUSASHI (Michinoku Pro) beat All-Asia Tag Team Champions Hikaru Sato & Dan Tamura to win the titles. Yoshioka & MUSASHI become the 124th All-Asia Tag Team Champions. MUSASHI pinned Sato after Niten First-Class.

Match 5: In an Elimination Match (over the top rope rules in effect), Jun & Rei Saito & Naruki Doi beat Ryuki Honda, Ren Ayabe & Rising Hayato. Order of elimination: Honda, Rei Saito, Jun Saito, Ayabe, Hayato. Doi wins.

Main Event: All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Yuma Anzai beat Hideki Suzuki to retain the Triple Crown. V2 for Anzai.

The next event is Saturday at Kashima Sports Center Ibaraki Sub Arena in Ibaraki, a Dan Tamura hometown event. There will be no live broadcast. It should be available on demand beginning at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET.

In other news, the full card for NEW AGE CHRONICLE Z 5 on 7/4 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring, the next installment in the Rising Hayato Produced event series, has been announced. The card is as follows:

The 8-man tag is being billed as a graduation commemoration match, hinting at this perhaps being the end of the series.

The 7/20 Korakuen event will also be a Referee Kyohei Wada 50th Anniversary event.

Finally, the Royal Road Tournament will return this year for an 11th installment in September. This is an openweight single tournament that likely will be a single-elimination format. The schedule was announced today:

UPDATE: Next up for Anzai & the Triple Crown: Suwama. That match will happen on 7/13 at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka along with All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Champion Rising Hayato vs. Naruki Doi for the title. It’s also worth noting Doi has been given the nickname “Mr. Saito” as part of his recent teaming with the Saito Bros.

New Japan continued the NEW JAPAN SOUL 2024 Tour today in Ibaraki.

Today’s event was held at Kamisu Disaster Prevention Arena in Ibaraki and can be watched on demand on New Japan World. This was a Smaurai! TV broadcast in Japan.

The announced paid attendance was 770.

Match 1: Yuya Uemura & DOUKI beat Shoma Kato & El Desperado. Uemura pinned Kato with a Kannuki suplex hold.

Match 2: Tomoaki Honma & Tomohiro Ishii beat Katsuya Murashima & Hiroshi Tanahashi. Ishii pinned Murashima.

Match 3: Francesco Akira, Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb beat TAKA Michinoku, Taichi & SANADA. Akira pinned TAKA after Fireball.

The next event is the joint All Elite Wretling-New Japan “Forbidden Door” event on 6/30 at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY. This event will be a live PPV via cable/satellite providers in the US, Bleacher Report, TrillerTV/Fite in select countries including the US, and New Japan World as a PPV in Japan. The current tour will resume on 7/3 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 6/23/24 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the CITY CIRCUIT Tour today with an event in Shizuoka that just concluded.

Today’s event was held at Act City Hamamatsu in Shizuoka and should be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Wednesday. There was no live broadcast.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced.

There were late changes to the card due to Yuki Aino being pulled off the event. The always-vague poor health/physical condition.

Match 1: Mahiro Kiryu beat Chika Nanase.

Match 2: Shoko Nakajima & Kira Summer beat Haru Kazashiro & Uta Takami. Nakajima pinned Takami.

Match 3: Mizuki beat Runa Okubo by submission.

Match 4: Nao Kakuta beat Shino Suzuki.

Match 5: Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku beat Raku & Pom Harajuku. Itoh beat Harajuku with Itoh Deluxe.

Match 6: Miyu Yamashita, Moka Miyamoto & Toga beat Suzume, Arisu Endo & Kaya Toribami. Miyamoto beat Endo with Rashomon.

Stardom 6/22/24 Results (Updated 6/23/24)

What was billed as an event that would forever change Stardom, STARDOM THE CONVERSION, was held today.

Today’s event was held at Yoyogi National Stadium Gym 2 in Tokyo and can be watched on demand as a PPV for 4400 Japanese yen (just under $30 US) until Wednesday morning. It should be available on demand on Stardom World late next week for paying subscribers.

The announced paid attendance was 1654.

Match 1: Fukigen beat Rian.

Match 2: Goddesses Of Stardom Champions Hazuki & Koguma beat Hanan & Saya Iida to retain the titles. Koguma pinned Iida after a diving body press. V2 for the champs. Next up: Based on backstage stuff immediately afterwards, Syuri & Konami.

Match 3: Starlight Kid beat Mei Seira.

Match 4: Mina Shirakawa & HANAKO beat Natsupoi & Yuna Mizumori. Shirakawa pinned Mizumori after Glamorous Driver Mina.

Match 5: Saki Kashima, Ranna Yagami & Tomoka Inaba beat Tam Nakano, Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara. Kashima pinned Sakura.

Match 6: Mayu Iwatani & Momo Kohgo vs. Syuri & Ami Sohrei went to a 15 minute time limit draw. This match was based on the Japanese movie “Runaway Wrestler”, which is a biopic of sorts about Iwatani.

Match 7: In a Unit Elimination Match, Natsuko Tora, Momo Watanabe, Thekla, Ruaka & Rina beat Saya Kamitani, AZM, Lady C, Miyu Amasaki & Hina. Tora won by last eliminating Kamitani. As a result, Queen’s Quest must disband with the exception of Kamitani. Oedo Tai wins the war.

Match 8: Mika Iwata (Sendai Gitls) beat Wonder Of Stardom Champion Saori Anou to win the title. Iwata becomes the 21st Wonder Of Stardom Champion. Next up: Possibly Natsupoi.

Main Event: World Of Stardom Champion Maika beat Gina to retain the title. V5 for Maika. Next up: Probably Tora. That match could happen on 7/15 at Korakuen Hall.

The next event is 6/29 at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin Friday at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET. If that plan holds and they don’t make it a PPV last-minute then live results will be planned.

6/23/24 UPDATE: Per a post on Yuji Nagata’s Twitter, IWGP Women’s Champion Mayu Iwatani today successfully defended the title in Ice Ribbon against Tsukasa Fujimoto, unfortunately it was a ref stoppage due to a Fujimoto injury. Dislocated right elbow. V6 for Iwatani.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 6/22/24 Results

Pro Wrestling NOAH continued the never-ending SUNNY VOYAGE 2024 Tour today in Osaka, featuring the return of the former Yoshiki Inamura to the promotion after an international excursion over the last 8-9 months. Inmaura has also changed his ring name to YOICHI.

Today’s event was held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date (probably Tuesday or Wednesday). There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 461.

Today’s event was held at Toyota Crown Arena in Fukushima and can be watched on demand on New Japan World.

Match 1: Masatora Yasuda vs. Daiki Nagai went to a 10 minute time limit draw. Had their first names wrong before from translations.

Match 2: Francesco Akira & Great-O-Khan beat Katsuya Murashima & Shoma Kato. Akira pinned Murashima after Fireball.

Stardom 6/21/24 Results

Stardom held the 13th NEW BLOOD event yesterday, a usually quarterly event showcasing the promotion’s developmental system for younger & less experienced wrestlers.

Yesterday’s event was held at New Pier Hall Takeshiba in Tokyo and can be watched on demand FOR FREE on YouTube (it was live streamed for free). You can also watch the video below:

The announced paid attendance was 224.

Match 1: Mei Seira beat Rian.

Match 2: Tomoka Inaba beat Ranna Yagami.

Match 3: HANAKO vs. Sakuran (Ice Ribbon) went to a 15 minute time limit draw.

Match 4: Rina & Azusa Inaba beat Hina & Miyu Amasaki. Rina pinned Hina after Pink Devil. Afterwards, since she didn’t defend the Future Of Stardom Championship today Rina named Nanami (Diana) her next challenger, but Ranna Yagami objected saying she was next. TBD.

Main Event: New Blood Tag Team Champions Hanan & Saya Iida beat Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara to retain the titles. Iida pinned Kurara after a lariat. V4 for the champs. Next up: TBA, as Rina & Azusa Inaba came out to challenge but so did HANAKO & Waka Tsukiyama.

While no exact date was confirmed today, Hanan suggested post-main event the next New Blood event will be in September.

The next event was earlier today, results will be posted when available. This is/was a PPV and will be available until Wednesday for 4400 Japanese yen (just under $30 US). It should be available on Stardom World for all paid subscribers Wednseday afternoon or Thursday.

DDT 6/22/24 Results (2 Events)

DDT ran two events today, the first being a special outdoor mini-event in Tokyo, followed by continuing their current tour in Osaka.

The first event was held at Machida GION Stadium in Tokyo and should be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

This was a free event with no paid attendance.

Match 1: Masa Takanashi & Yasu Urano beat Yuni & Illusion. Takanashi pinned Illusion.

Match 2: Antonio Honda beat Gota Ihashi.

Match 3: Shinya Aoki & Super Sasadango Machine beat Akito & Takao Soma. Aoki pinned Soma after Transformed Osui Suplex.

The second event was held at Minato Community Center in Osaka and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Tuesday. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 238, a full house/near sellout.

There were last-minute changes to the card due to the absences of Yuki Ueno (fever) and Kazusada Higuchi (cervial spine hernia). Ueno is currently out only for this weekend. Higuchi is out indefinitely but probably a few months.

Match 1: Yuki Iino beat Makoto Oishi & To-y in a 3-way by pinning Oishi.

Match 2; HARASHIMA beat Tsutenkakku.

Match 3: DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Keigo Nakamura beat Kazuma Sumi to retain the title. Which means there were 2 title changes after Shunma Katsumata won the title yesterday. (The title was first won by an Aufguss Towel then Keigo Nakamura beat the towel)

Match 4; Daisuke Sasaki, KANON & MJ Paul ebat Jun Akiyama, Toru Owashi & Tomomitsu Matsunaga. KANON beat Matsunaga with Cobra Twist 2.0.

Match 5: Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada beat Tetsuya Endo & Yuya Koroku. Brookes pinned Koroku after Cosmic Doom.

Match 6: Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata beat Sanshiro Takagi & CIMA (GLEAT) in 5 seconds. Hirata pinned Takagi. Which led to…
