Injury Report: Brass Knuckles Really Do Hurt

Maybe he uses them as bis name suggests but I can’t verify because GLEAT event videos are now paywalled on YouTube (and admittedly I unsubscribed rather than pay $9/month for them when in Japanese currency it’s much less but no choice for me in the US), regardless Brass Knuckles JUN is the latest injury casualty in the promotion. Unspecified bone bruise. Out indefinitely but based on now being out of an upcoming tournament starting on 4/26 it will be at least 2 weeks. Changes to cards and the tournament are TBA (it’s a 16-man single elimination tournament).

BREAKING: New Japan Titles Vacated

This is going to cause a lot of groans among some New Japan fans-the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship is now VACANT. Previous champions Jeff Cobb & Callum Newman have vacated the titles because Cobb is leaving the promotion at his request. He’s been rumored to be heading to WWE. Cobb’s final NJPW match will be Saturday against Hiroshi Tanahashi. Newman and Great-O-Khan will try to leep the titles on 4/26 when they face…cue the groans…Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI). However, Newman also gets to face Goto for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at WRESTLING DONTAKU on 5/4 (whoever wins will defend on 5/9 in the US).

Tokyo Joshi Pro 4/13/25 LIVE Results (Updated)

Before they head to the US for The Collective along with DDT and others, Tokyo Joshi Pro holds a special WRESTLE UNIVERSE Members Only event today, with admission limited to members of WRESTLE UNIVERSE, which is the promotion’s fan club (also for DDT and one of two for Pro Wrestling NOAH) as well as subscription streaming service. Most of today’s card will not be announced in advance with one exception-the annual fan-favorite “Costume Change” match will be held today which will consist on paper of Mizuki, Suzume, Pom Harajuku & Yoshioko Hasegawa vs. Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Haru Kazashiro. It’s gonna be wacky and fun if just because of Pom who is at her comedy best in matches like this.

It has also been announced that Mifu Ashida will miss this event. Scheduling conflicts.

Today’s event will be held at Kitazawa Town Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. There will be 6 matches total so the event probably will be a standard house show running just under 2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Mizuki, Suzume, Pom Harajuku & Yoshioko Hasegawa vs. Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Haru Kazashiro in a Costume Change match
5 other matches TBA

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 10 PM PT/1 AM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 15 minutes before the event.

9:45 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. We should be going to the venue in just under 15 minutes. Remember no matches will be announced before they happen except the one above already announced.

9:59 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Kitazawa Town Hall in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Ticket sales were limited to paid WRESTLE UNIVERSE members only but it’s going to be close to a full crowd, it’s a very small venue so said crowd will probably be around 175. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 258, a super full house/very near sellout)

Even ring announcer Sayuri Namba is getting in on the costume change theme today as she came out dressed as a Chinese woman instead of her usual Final Fantasy-themed outfit.

The matches are announced after the Up Up Girls performance. The costume change match announced before is the main event.

The matches begin at 10:13 PM PT/1:13 AM ET.

Match 1: Chika Nanase vs. Yuki Kamifuku. 15 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Kamifuku beat Chika Nanase

Match 2: Ivy Steele vs. Kira Summer. 15 minute time limit
Result: Kira Summer beat Ivy Steele. Comedy match with both dressed up and repping their native homelands-Steele from the UK and Summer from Australia with a stuffed Koala bear and dressed like an Australian wildlife explorer.

Match 3: Hyper Misao, Mahiro Kiryu & Moka Miyamoto (all dressed like Misao with the masks too) vs. Raku, Yuki Aino & Neko Haruna (Aino & Haruna were masked and not in their usual outfits). 20 minute time limit
Result: Hyper Misao, Mahiro Kiryu & Moka Miyamoto beat Raku, Yuki Aino & Neko Haruna. Misao pinned Haruna with La Magistral. At some point Raku disappeared and was replaced by a mystery woman dressed as a skeleton in a hoodie, which most definitely was not Raku.

Match 4: Miu Watanabe & Uta Takami vs. Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo. 20 minute time limit
Result: Miu Watanabe & Uta Takami beat Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo. Apparently the match somehow involved trivia questions being answered correctly to win (I was split-streaming another event so I didn’t have audio on)

Match 5: Shino Suzuki vs. Kaya Toribami, Maki Itoh, Rika Tatsumi & SHoko Nakajima in a 5-way. Apparently an elimination match but also a comedy match. Also changing rules after each elimination
Result: Not even gonna try to explain because I couldn’t understand but apparently itoh & Toribami won.

Main Event: Mizuki, Suzume, Pom Harajuku & Yoshioko Hasegawa vs. Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Haru Kazashiro in a Costume Change match. 20 minute time limit. Change-wise, Toga was dressed as Neko Haruna, Kazashiro was Hyper Misao, HIMAWARI was Shoko Nakajima, Uehara was Miyu Yamashita. On the other side, they were all Up Up Girls.Mizuki was Suzuki, Harajuku was Takami, Hasegawa was Watanabe, Suzume was (a somewhat convincing and pretty good) Raku.
Result: Mizuki, Suzume, Pom Harajuku & Yoshiko Hasegawa beat Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Haru Kazashiro. Mizuki pinned Kazashiro with Cutie Special. Comedy match of course, although one has to admit Toga was not the most convincing Neko Haruna, if only because the real Haruna is much bigger.

The next event is TJPW LIVE in Las Vegas Friday at the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Live streaming exclusively on TrillerTV/FITE with a Triller+ subscription ($7.99/month or $71.99/year, a 1 week free trial is available for new subscribers) will begin at 11 AM PT/2 PM ET. It may be on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date, but it will probably be a few weeks or even a couple months later. For the wrestlers not coming to the US, their next event is Saturday at Kanda Myojin Hall in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 8:30 PM PT/11:30 PM ET.

UPDATE: The promotion will return to the venue on 6/27 for a Hyper Misao Produced event.
