NOAH News: New Title Announced

Big news coming out of yesterday’s MONDAY MAGIC event: Pro Wresting NOAH has announced a new title-the GHC Women’s Championship. To be awarded at the next MONDAY MAGIC event on 11/11, a 10-woman staggered battle royal will determine the inaugural champion. Participants will not be announced prior to the match. I think Great Sakuya is a lock though.

All-Japan 10/28/24 & 10/29/24 Results

All-Japan continued the Giant Series 2024 yesterday (forgot to post results) and today with events in Hokkaido.

Yesterday’s event was held at Tomakomai City General Gym in Hokkaido and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV.

The announced paid attendance was 488.

Match 1: Cyrus beat Ryuki Honda & Noriyuki Yoshida in a 3-way by pinning Yoshida.

Injury Report: El Absento (Update)

New Japan has just announced injury updates that are developing: El Phantasmo is now off the rest of the current tour. Unspecified health concern. Out indefinitely but the rest of the tour means at least a week. He was scheduled to be part of 2 more events on Saturday (11/2) and 11/4. Boltin Oleg is the replacement for both events.

More as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Phantasmo provided further details today as to his hiatus. Cancer. Had a cancerous tumor removed recently, a “little tumour of cancer” in his own words. He says he is in good spirits and will return to New Japan eventually, just not sure when.

New Japan continued the Super Junior Tag League with a second Tokyo event today.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on New Japan World. This was a Samurai! TV broadcast in Japan.

Pro Wrestling NOAH ran Episode 2 of MONDAY MAGIC Season 3 today.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The paid attendance has not been announced but it was very close to a legit sellout if it didn’t get there. Only a few same-day tickets were left.

The next event is Wednesday at Bandaijima Multipurpose Square Okama in Niigata for both Akitoshi Saito’s final Niigata match and the start of the N INNOVATION 2024 Tournament (a single-elimination 8-man tournament for the Junior Heavyweights). After this event they have a stretch where 10 of the next 11 events will be streamed live (in fact, the only 2 non-live events left in 2024 are this one, 11/9 and 12/8.
