New Japan continued the New Japan Road Tour today with a return to Tokyo after a week on the road.

Today’s event was held at Esforta Arena Hachioji in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on New Japan World.

The announced paid attendance was 1565.

There were some last-minute changes to the card due to DOUKI being pulled from the event. Fever. Tested negative for coronavirus but held out as a precaution.He was to have teamed with SANADA to face Hiromu Takahashi & Yota Tsuji in the main event. Yoshinobu Kanemaru, who was in a 6-man tag in match 7, was removed from that match as a replacement and match 7 was changed to a tag match with BUSHI being removed from the match.

Today’s event was held at Nagoya International Conference Center Event Hall in Nagoya and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. The live broadcast was only in English due to being an ABEMA-exclusive broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 833. That sounds bad for a major event like this, but depending on the setup the capacity was likely only in the 1000-1200 range (the absolute maximum for the venue would be 1800).

BREAKING: Dragon Gate Cuts 2 for Contract Violations

In a Twitter post on its Japanese account, Dragon Gate announced 2 wrestlers-Kento Kobune (SB KENTo) and Takuma Fujiwara-have been released. The promotion only said it was due to a “serious breach of contract” and resolution efforts were unsuccessful. Both have been inactive for roughly a year.

DDT continued the What Are You Doing 223 Tour today with an event in Hokkaido that got off to a rough and unusual start-apparently the truck transporting parts of the ring and other equipment was late due to travel issues so they had to use a partially built ring for some of the event among other things. Seemingly transcends “only in DDT”. Because of this, the original match order was changed.

Today’s event was held at Hakodate City Geberal Wholesale Center in Hokkaido and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Monday. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 212.

Bad wordplay aside, GLEAT did announce an injury absence this morning-Kaito Ishida is now off the next 3 events including tonight and the major 7/1 TDC Hall event. Radial shaft and ulnar styloid fractures. In simpler terms, wrist & forearm. Out indefinitely. A quick internet search of these indicates the former usually requires surgery so 2 weeks could turn into months. Changes to the cards are forthcoming.
