DDT Pro Wrestling “GOD BLESS DDT 2024” LIVE Results (10/20/24)

DDT runs their monthly tour-ender event today, GOD BLESS DDT 2024, in Tokyo. It’s lean on match quantity but headlined by 2 title matches-First up is a DDT Extreme Championship match as Akito defends against Danshoku Dieno, with as usual weird rules: There are 9 win conditions and prohibited moves, to be chosen pre-match by the referee. Only the referee will know them-nobody else will, to include the wrestlers and fans. In the main event, Shinya Aoki defends the KO-D Openweight Championship against HARASHIMA. And ahead of a DDT debut at the end of 2024, another actor (can’t quite get his name right from translations) will appear at the event to greet the fans. I already expect him to debut against Kaisei Takechi. Also keep an eye out for the usual Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship wackiness, especially in and starting with the second match.

Because Kota Ibushi was scheduled to appear and that will not happen for unspecified reasons, DDT is offering refunds to those who had purchased tickets before the announcement so that may affect today’s attendance and ticket availability.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese. Actor Takumi Momose will be a guest on commentary. There are only 6 matches today so even with the title main events this probably will be a “regular” Korakuen event with a runtime of around 2 1/2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Yuki Ueno, MAO, Shunma Katsumata & To-y vs. Takao Soma, Yukio Naya, Keigo Nakamura & Yuya Koroku
Super Sasadango Machine & Kazuki Hirata vs. Yuni & Kazuma Sumi
Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul, KANON & Illusion vs. Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda, Masa Takanashi & Takeshi Masada
Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino vs. Jun Akiyama & Yuki Ishida
DDT Extreme Champion Akito vs. Danshoku Dieno in a “Nobody Knows Rules” Match for the title
KO-D Openweight Champion Shinya Aoki vs. HARASHIMA for the title

6:40 PM PT UPDATE: The start of the live stream has been pushed back to 7:10 PM PT/10:10 PM ET.

We are LIVE from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Your hosts are Satoshi Dairaku, Kagehiro Osano & Takumi Momose. We will be joined by Haruo Murata a little later.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Advance sales heading into today were better than usual but it’s hard to say how much the Ibushi refunds will affect the paid total. Too early to get a prediction right now but advance tickets suggest it could be 1000+. (Late prediction based on what I saw before Match 5-looks like near 1000 so I’ll say that) (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 1124, a full house/near sellout)

The matches should begin in about 20 minutes.

The matches begin at 7:35 PM PT/10:35 PM ET.

There are 9 win conditions and prohibited moves, to be chosen pre-match by the referee. Only the referee will know them-nobody else will, to include the wrestlers and fans. 1 Hour time limit
Result: Danshoku Dieno beat DDT Extreme Champion Akito to win the title. Dieno becomes the 61st DDT Extreme Champion. The winning move? Apparently a pinky swear. This is Dieno’s 9th reign but first in nearly 8 years. Next up: Yuni. And it will also be for the DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship. That match will happen at the next Korakuen event on 11/23. Which led to…
Danshoku Dieno beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Yuni to win the title. Dieno becomes the 1683rd Champion.

Main Event: KO-D Openweight Champion Shinya Aoki vs. HARASHIMA for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: KO-D Openweight Champion Shinya Aoki beat HARASHIMA to retain the title. V2 for Aoki. Shunma Katsumata came out immediately afterwards…CASHING IN! Which led to…
Impromptu Match: KO-D Openweight Champion Shinya Aoki vs. Shunma Katsumata for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: KO-D Openweight Champion Shinya Aoki beat Shunma Katsumata to retain the title. V3 for Aoki. That’s it for all the title shot contracts. Next up: Brookes. Baka Gaijin wants Baka Survivor. And GM Imabayashi makes it official.

We wrap up with the announcement of matches for 11/4 at Sumida City Gym. Makoto Oishi will compete at that event as will Shinichiro Karamatsu the wrestling politician. That’s also when Aoki-Brookes will happen.

Stardom 10/19/24 LIVE Results

Stardom runs their latest NEW BLOOD event today, the 16th installment of the promotion’s developmental series focused on younger and less-experienced wrestlers. As has been the case recently, a lot of outside participation is scheduled as other promotions send their younger and inexperienced wrestlers to gain experience and exposure against the same in Stardom. There is also a title match scheduled-after recently seeing her year-plus record-setting Future Of Stardom Championship reign stunningly halted, Rina will try to hold on to the New Blood Tag Team Championship when she & Azusa Inaba defend against Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO. HANAKO has been on a hot streak since returning from a month-long excursion to the US, and with the Goddess Of Stardom Tag League fast approaching both the titles and potentially momentum going in are on the line.

Today’s event will be held at Bellesalle Grand Shinjuku in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on Stardom World. There will be no commentary. No word yet on if the event will also be live on YouTube. This will be a shorter event with only 5 matches including the title match so the running time should be a little over 90 minutes.
UPDATE (Pre-show): You can also watch the entire event FOR FREE on YouTube. The live stream won’t be set up until right before it begins.
UPDATE 2: They changed broadcast plans last-minute-this event IS NOT live on Stardom World. Only on YouTube.

Injury Report: DDT Champs Need A Substitution

DDT has announced a card change for an event this weekend (after Thursday’s event), and it’s noteworthy because it affects a title match-Takayuki Ueki, one member of the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Champions, is now off. The event. Dislocated right shoulder. Reportedly happened in a match recently. Out indefinitely. Munetatsu Nakamura is the replacement and the title match will go on as planned. It will be interesting to see who is recognized as titleholder should the champs retain, but there is a chance the match will be cancelled last-minute: The event is to be held outdoors so if the weather is bad (rain), it’s possibly off (admission is free).
