All-Japan wrapped up the Flag Raising Commemoration Series today with a major event in Tokyo.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV.
The announced paid attendance was 1296.
Pre-show: Actress Girls Match: Nagisa Shotsuki & Marino Saihara beat Anka Iwai & Ayano Irie. Saihara pinned Iwai after MRN Smash!
Match 1: Taishin Nagao Debut Match: Ryo Inoue beat Taishin Nagao by ref stoppage (technical submission).
Match 2; Seiki Yoshioka, Hikaru Sato & Yuko Miyamoto beat MUSASHI, Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Shotaro Ashino. Yoshioka pinned MUSASHI with La Magistral.
Match 3: Seigo Tachibana beat GAORA TV Champion Fuminori Abe to win the title. Tachibana becomes the 27th GAORA TV Champion.
Match 4: Jun & Rei Saito, Naruki Doi & Senor Saito beat Hokuto Omori, Cyrus, Kuamarashi & Hartley Jackson. Jun Saito pinned Omori after a jackhammer.
Intermission.
Match 5: Kento Miyahara, Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Dan Tamura beat Rising Hayato, Yuma Anzai & Ryuki Honda. Smith pinned Anzai after Bulldog Bomb.
Match 6: Suwama 20th Anniversary Match: Hideki Suzuki & Shuji Kondo beat Suwama & TBA, revealed at match time to be Shuji Ishikawa. Suzuki pinned Suwama after a double arm suplex.
Main Event: All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Yuma Aoyagi beat Ren Ayabe to retain the Triple Crown. V2 for Aoyagi. UPDATE: Next up: Smith, per a Twitter post from his official Twitter account. That match will reportedly happen on 11/4 in Hokkaido. No official confirmation yet from All-Japan.
The next event is the Giant Series 2024 Tour opener Sunday at APA Hotel & Resort Sapporo in Hokkaido, headlined by an All-Japan World Tag Team Championship match as the Saitos defend against Cyrus & Hartley Jackson. Changes have been made to this and next week’s events because Ryuki Honda was supposed to go on an international excursion but that was cancelled due to hurricanes, so as a result he has been added to the events. Live streaming on AJPW.TV will begin Saturday at 11 PM PT/2 AM ET.
Also announced today were the first dates and major events for the first half of 2025. Here’s what is set so far:
1/2 & 1/3-Korakuen (New Year’s Wars 2025). These are morning matinees meaning they will be evening starts the day before in the US (6:30 PM PT/9:30 PM ET)
1/26-Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 4, Chiba (New Year’s Wars 2025)
2/24-Esforta Arena Hachioji, Tokyo (Excite Series 2025)
3/15-Okinawa Prefectural Budokan, Okinawa (Dream Power Series 2025)
3/29-Ota City General Gym, Tokyo (Dream Power Series 2025)
5/18-Ota City General Gym (Champions Carnival 2025 Finals)
Okinawa will be their first visit to the prefecture in 6 years.
UPDATE 2: Perhaps a non-surprise given their history but the first challenger for Tachibana for the GAORA TV Championship will be Kuroshio TOKYO Japan. That match was originally scheduled for 10/29 and now will be for the title.
