Regarding Stardom 4/20-4/21 Results

In a post on their official English Twitter account, Stardom just announced their upcoming events on 4/20 & 4/21 will be streamed LIVE on Stardom World for subscribers. Because of this, I am pleased to announce plans to do LIVE results for both events. 4/21 will have a Goddesses Of Stardom Championship match as the likely main event.

Saturday’s event will be at Kobe Sambo Hall in Kobe. Sunday’s event is at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka. The live streams will begin Friday & Saturday, respectively, at 9 PM PT/midnight ET.

(4/27 broadcast plans for their major event at Yokohama Buntai in Yokohama are pending, but I have a feeling that will be a PPV with Stardom World on demand a few days later once the PPV window ends)

GLEAT 4/17/24 Results

GLEAT ran the 4th Lidet UWF event today, an event featuring only UWF bouts.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on YouTube (it was a live broadcast earlier today).

The announced paid attendance was 228.

All matches were Lidet UEF bouts (no pinfalls, win only by submission, KO/TKO, ref stoppage or points if time limit reached. If points are tied at time limit, it’s a Draw)

Match 1: Tetsuya Isuchi vs. Yutaka Kobayashi went to a 15 minute time limit draw, tied on points left. Draw.

Match 2: Kotaro Suzuki & Hartley Jackson beat Hideki Sekine & Takatoshi Matsumoto by TKO. Jackson beat Matsunoto with a powerbomb.

Match 3: Maya Fukuda beat Yura Suzuki by KO.

Match 4: Soma Watanabe & Dan Tamura vs. Takuya Wada & Daisuke Nakmura went to a 20 minute time limit draw, tied on points. Draw.

Match 5: Masakatsu Funaki beat Yu Iizuka by TKO in 46 seconds.

Match 6: Kaz Hayashi Last UWF Bout-Minoru Suzuki & Kendo Ka Shin beat Kaz Hayashi & Yoshiaki Fujiwara by submission. Suzuki beat Hayashi.

Main Event: Takanori Ito beat Hikaru Sato by ref stoppage.

The next event is GLEAT HOUSE SHOW in Yokohama on 5/4 at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama. There will be no live or on demand broadcast.

New Japan News: Upcoming April/May Cards & Title Matches (Updated)

Lots of New Japan news for the end of April & May:

First up, most of the matches for WRESTLING DONTAKU 2024 on 5/3 & 5/4 in Fukuoka have been announced including NEW IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley’s first defense. He said Shota Umino was going to be first…nope. This isn’t AEW so he can’t always call his shots and get them. Ren Narita gets next. First, here’s what’s set for 5/3:

On 4/27 as part of the Road to WRESTLING DONTAKU Tour in Hisoshima, there will be what looks to be a rematch of NEW STRONG Tag Team Champions Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls vs. Hikuleo & El Phantasmo for the titles. The champs lost the titles in a 4-way at Windy City Riot but weren’t the ones involved in the fall. Also set is KOPW 2024 Champion Great-O-Khan vs. Yuya Uemura for the title. The main event will be an LIJ vs. Bullet Club 10-man elimination tag match, and other graphics suggest DOUKI & TAKA Michinoku vs. Sho & Yoshinobu Kanemaru is set as well.

On 4/29 in Kagoshima, the annual Wrestling Satsuma No Kuni event IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Clark Connors & Dilla Moloney vs. Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI for the titles, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Sho vs. DOUKI for the title and probably Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & Yota Tsuji vs. Gedo, David Finlay & Gabriel Kidd.

UPDATE: Whoever is IWGP World Heavyweight Champion on 5/11 will defend the title against Umino at Resurgence.

Dragon Gate continued The Gate Of Passion 2024 Tour yesterday with a doubleheader in Fukuoka.

Match 3: Ultimo Dragon beat Gianni Valetta by DQ. Mask removal.

Main Event: In a Captains Fall Elimination Match, Shun Skywalker, KAI, ISHIN & Jason Lee beat Kzy, BIGBOSS Shimizu, U-T & JACKY “FUNKY” KAMEI. The captains were Lee & KAMEI, the match ended after one of them was eliminated. Order of elimination: Kzy by Skywalker, Shimizu by Lee, KAI by KAMEI, ISHIN by U-T, Skywalker by KAMEI, KAMEI by Lee. Although U-T was not eliminated, because KAMEI was as captain, Z-Brats wins.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 4/15/24 Results

Pro Wrestling NOAH held Episode 3 of MONDAY MAGIC Season 2 today.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced but it was a legit advance sellout.

Match 1: Kaito Kiyomiya & Kenoh beat Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba. Kiyomiya pinned Inaba after Transformed Shining Wizard.

Match 2: Alejandro beat Daga in 79 seconds.

Match 3: GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Jack Morris & Anthony Greene beat TBA & TBA, revealed to be two of Great Mummy, to retain the titles. Morris pinned one Mummy after a tiger driver. V6 for the champs.

Match 4: HAYATA & Ulka Sasaki beat Ryohei Oiwa & Yu Owada. HAYATA beat Owada with Gedo Clutch.

Match 5: Great Sakuya & Nagisa Nozaki vs. Miyuki Takase & Takumi Iroha went to a 20 minute time limit draw.

Match 6: Jake Lee, YO-HEY & Tadasuke beat Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Shuji Kondo & Junta Miyawaki. Lee pinned Miyawaki after FBS.

Main Event: GHC Hardcore Champion Ninja Mack beat Alpha Wolf to retain the title.. V2 for Mack.

The final episode of Season 2 is next Monday. Announced for next week are Morris & Greene again defending the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Titles vs. TBA in an open challenge and Kiyomiya vs. Lee, with the winner facing Wagner Jr. for the GHC Heavyweight Championship on 5/4. That’s the next event on the schedule, and it’s already a legit advance sellout. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.

DEVELOPING: Rossy Ogawa New Promotion Announced (Updated)

In a press conference announced today by and streamed via WRESTLE UNIVERSE on YouTube, former Stardom head Rossy Ogawa officially announced his expected newest promotion. Here’s what we know so far:

It will be called DREAM STAR FIGHTING Marigold, or Marigold for short.

The wrestlers who just left Stardom a couple weeks ago will be part of it-Utami Hayashishita, MIRAI, Nanae Takahashi, Mai Sakurai, Victoria Yuzuki (Yuzuki) and-for now-Giulia, who also will appear in Pro Wrestling NOAH on their 5/4 PPV and is expected to head to WWE later this year. Also joining are most of the Actress Girls roster-Natsumi Sumikawa, Miku Aono, Misa Matsui, CHIAKI, Chika Goto, and KOUK (who have been appearing semi-regularly in All-Japan before events, that promotion had been on hiatus since one of their wrestlers was killed in a car accident earlier this year en route to an event), along with former wrestler/trainer and Stardom GM Fuka. A handful of foreigners were also announced.

The first event will be on 5/20 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo headlined by Giulia & TBA vs. Sareee & TBA and possibly Yuzuki vs. Takahashi. Also, on the 5/4 NOAH PPV they will have Giulia, Utami Hayashishita, MIRAI & Mai Sakurai vs Miyuki Takase, Sakuya, Nagisa Nozaki & Takumi Iroha. That event reportedly will stream on WRESTLE UNIVERSE, but it does not yet show in the live schedule. A full slate of events for most of the second half of the year also were announced.

UPDATE: WRESTLE UNIVERSE announced it will be a live broadcast in Japanese and English but no word on if it’s a PPV or not. Initial reports lead me to believe it is not.

Stardom ran the second half of their weekend doubleheader in Shizuoka today.

Today’s event was held at Act City Hamamatsu Exhibition Event Hall Block 2 in Shizuoka and will be available on demand on Stardom World at a later date.

DDT ran a standalone comedy event today featuring a seemingly heated battle between, of all things, fish & chicken. PROTEIN!!!

Today’s event was held at Shibushi City “Eel Station” Special Venue in Kagoshima and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 400, a super full house/very near sellout.

Match 1: Daisuke Sasaki & KANON beat Kazuki Hirata & Yukio Naya. Sasaki beat Hirata with a facelock.

Match 2: Danshoku Dieno beat Kazuma Sumi.

Match 3: Jun Akiyama & Sanshiro Takagi beat Takeshi Masada & Rukiya. Takagi pinned Rukiya after a slingblade style neckbreaker.

Match 4: Yuki Ueno, MAO & To-y beat Tetsuya Endo, Yuki Iino & Yuya Koroku. Ueno pinned Koroku after MADMAX.

Main Event: Shishamo Power, Eel Mask & Super Eel Mask beat MR. CHICKEN (Makoto Oishi), THE FALCON (Chris Brookes) & EL TURKEY (Shunma Katsumata). Power beat CHICKEN with Shishamo Of Birdeater. The next event is “Spoiler Prohibited Show Vol. 1” on 4/21 at Tsurumi Fruit & Vegetable Marker in Kanagawa. The promotion will prohibit fans from posting spoilers and match results on SNS/social media until the end of the day after the event, thus results almost certainly will not be available until the end of the day in Japan, which is 8 AM PT/11 AM ET in the US. There will (unsurprisingly) be no live broadcast.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 4/14/24 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro participated in “Gaisen Sakura Pro Wrestling” today, a special mini-doubleheader with the independent BASARA promotion that also featured a special training class for children between events.

Today’s event was held at a special outdoor stage at Shinjo Village in Okayama and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

The attendance was not announced because this was a free event, but paid reserved seating was available.

Before the event began, former TJPW wrestler Nodoka Tenma (Yuki Aino’s real-life sister) appeared to greet the crowd.

Match 1: Miu Watanabe beat Haru Kazashiro by submission.

Match 2: Mizuki beat Pom Harajuku.

Match 3: Rika Tatsumi & Nao Kakuta beat Arisu Endo & Mahiro Kiryu. Tatsumi pinned Kiryu after Missile Hip.

Main Event: Shoko Nakajima & Yuki Aino beat Aja Kong & Raku. Aino pinned Raku after UBV.

The next event is HYPE2, the second Hyper Misao Produced event, Friday at Kitazawa Town Hall in Tokyo. Misao will not participate, however, due to injury. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

New Japan 4/14/24 Results

New Japan returned to Taiwan today for the first time in over 7 1/2 years for a special standalone event, featuring a tournament to crown new NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Champions.

Today’s event was held at Zepp New Taipei in Taipei, Taiwan and can be watched on demand on New Japan World OUTSIDE JAPAN ONLY. This was a live TV Asahi broadcast in Japan.

The announced paid attendance was 800, a full house/near sellout. New Japan’s English website says a legit sellout.

Pre-show Match: Puzzle Provided Match: Touyuu beat Axe Wang.

Match 1: NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Title Tournament: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano & Boltin Oleg beat Great-O-Khan, Francesco Akira & Callum Newman. Yano pinned Newman.

Match 2: NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Title Tournament: Sho, Yujiro Takahashi & EVIL beat Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuhji & BUSHI. Sho pinned BUSHI after Shock Arrow.

Match 6: IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI beat Yuya Uemura & SANADA to retain the titles. Goto pinned Uemora after Goh. V1 for the champs.

Main Event: NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Title Tournament: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano & Boltin Oleg beat Sho, Yujiro Takahashi & EVIL to win the tournament and the titles. Tanahashi, Yano & Oleg become the 27th NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Champions. Tanahashi pinned Sho after High Fly Flow. Really cool to see a Young Lion (Oleg) win a title, although I personally am less than thrilled that it includes Yano. Sorry all but I am not a Yano fan.

The next event is the Road To WRESTLING DONTAKU Tour opener Saturday at Machida Gym in Tokyo. There will be no live or on demand broadcast. Most of the tour will be non-televised with just 3 broadcasts scheduled among 9 events, plus Wrestling Satsuma No Kuni on 4/29 which will be on New Japan World.
