DDT News: Late 3/22/2026 Card Change

DDT held the last press conference before their anniversary event Sunday earlier today, and there has been a last-minute card change. This is because GM Imabayasbi was attacked at the end, which led to…

Minoru Suzuki beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion GM Imabayashi by submission to win the title. Suzuki becomes the 1811th Champion.

So that means instead of Imabayashi defending the title in a 1 vs. 6 handicap match, it’s now Suzuki with Imabayashi now one of the 6. The winner is still to defend at Tokyo Joshi Pro’s 3/29 event, not to mention Antonio Honda planned to defend against New Japan wrestler Yoh on 4/15, but, as always with this title, Card(s) Subject To Change.

Dragon Gate News: The Gate Opened Too Far?

This is something I’ve noticed blowing up on the Japanese social media scene over the last day, an interesting announcement from Dragon Gate. Below is a loose English translation:

“Dear Relatives and Fans

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support of DRAGONGATE’s activities.

Now, we have learned that a former player of DRAGONGATE has sent out information containing a lot of untrue content, as if he had been involved in serious illegal acts in the past. Naturally, there is no fact that our company or its related parties were involved in such serious illegal acts, and we believe that such unfounded information was unilaterally carried out and is considered to be an unacceptable act.

We have already delegated the handling of this case to a lawyer, and we intend to consider strict measures for defamation and discredit acts such as this case, with a view to legal action. In addition, we will continue to position compliance as the most important item and will work on the development of DRAGONGATE. I sincerely ask that you do not easily trust or spread false information.

We sincerely apologize for causing you concern. We look forward to your continued support for DRAGONGATE’s activities.

March 16, 2026 DRGONGATE Co., Ltd”

The socials are speculating on two names in particular here-CIMA and Tokyo Magnum, both formerly of Dragon Gate. Translation of various social media reports (which are unofficial and not affiliated with the promotion suggest DG is considering legal action but this does not affect or involve anyone on the current roster. Anyway, pass the salt and let’s see what happens.

More as it becomes available. A link to the original announcement is below:

All-Japan News: Tag Champs US-Bound

All-Japan announced today that current All-Japan World Tag Team Champions Ren Ayabe & Talos are US-bound for NWA (National Wrestling Alliance, the Billy Corgan-owned one) participation in April. Ayabe & Talos will be part of the 40th Crockett Cup on 4/4 in Formey, TX. They probably will be announced by NWA later on. The NWA website indicates this will be a NWA POWERRR TV taping so the event, and Ayabe/Talos matches, should be available on demand FOR FREE on The Roku Channel in the US at a later date (a Roku device or TV IS NOT REQUIRED to watch The Rolu Channel, which is free with ads).

As a result of this, Ayabe & Talos are off the 4/3 event at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo but should be back in time for the Champions Carnival which starts on 4/12.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “TJPW TEXAS STAMPEDE” LIVE Results (3/17/2026)

For their first visit to the US this year, Tokyo Joshi Pro is headed to Texas for the first time for a series called “TJPW TEXAS STAMPEDE”. It starts today with the first half of a doubleheader in Austin in the area where SXSW is held. On paper it’s mainly a house show lineup but will continue the build to 2 of the 3 GRAND PRINCESS ’26 title matches and, even better, our beloved former ring announcer Sayuri Namba will be at all the events as, between these and the Las Vegas event plus their Canada debut later this year, we’re going to see a lot more of her and we’re all very happy about that.

Today’s event will be held at Austin-Palmer Events Exhibit Center in Austin, TX and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English. However, they are warning of possible issues or even cancellation of streaming because of the stream originating from servers in Japan. There are 6 matches planned and if they stick to the usual time limits, that will probably keep the running time to “standard” house show length of about 2 hours.

Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Suzume vs. Uta Takami
Sakura Hattori (fka Kaya Toribami) vs. Shino Suzuki
Hyper Misao & Mifu Ashida vs. Raku & Pom Harajuku
Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo vs. Mizuki & Yuki Aino
Shoko Nakajima & Wakana Uehara vs. Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee
Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi vs. Yuki Arai & Yuki Kamifuku

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin shortly.

5:02 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Austin-Palmer Events Exhibit Center in Austin, TX. No commentary yet.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. The setup is for about 1500 and an event-related website claims it’s a sellout but the crowd is still filing in and the bleachers we see are far from full, but other seating is. I’ll guess a little low and say around 1000. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 1951. This may include some standing room seating that was not for sale but was shown as perhaps being for SXSW attendees)

We come in during Sayuri Namba’s introduction in English then right to Up Up Girls so the matches should begin in 5-10 minutes.

Technical issues begin as Up up Girls finishes. It looks like they were perhaps joined by Fumirin today (the promotion’s bilingual referee). (Fixed aft\er a refresh)

The matches begin at 5:10 PM PT/8:10 PM ET. Your hosts are Rich Bocchini & Veda Scott. Sounds like maybe no time limits today. All intros/announcements are in English.

Match 1: Suzume vs. Uta Takami
Result: Suzume beat Uta Takami

Match 2: Sakura Hattori (fka Kaya Toribami) vs. Shino Suzuki. Hattori is still masked but now has more of a kunoichi (female ninja) appearance and mask.
Result: Sakura Hattori beat Shino Suzuki

Match 3: Hyper Misao & Mifu Ashida vs. Raku & Pom Harajuku
Result: Raku & Pom Harajuku beat Hyper Misao & Mifu Ashida. Raku pinned Ashida after Doctor Yellow.

Match 4: Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo vs. Mizuki & Yuki Aino
Result: Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo beat Mizuki & Yuki Aino. Yamashita pinned Aino after Skull Kick.

Match 5: Shoko Nakajima & Wakana Uehara vs. Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee
Result: Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee beat Shoko Nakajima & Wakana Uehara. Both pinned Uehara.

Main Event: Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi vs. Yuki Arai & Yuki Kamifuku
Result: Miu Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi beat Yuki Arai & Yuki Kamifuku. Watanabe pinned Arai after Teardrop.

After those initial issues at the beginning, the stream was smooth and stable the rest of the way. Hopefully that will be the case the rest of the week.

The second half of this doubleheader is tomorrow. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English will begin at 4 PM PT/7 PM ET. Due to work schedule conflicts with the earlier start time I will not be able to do live results.

Sumo-March 2026 Grand Sumo Tournament Day 10 Results (3/17/2026) (Top 2 Tiers) (Updated)

Here are the quick results from today’s Day 10 of the March 2026 Grand Sumo Tournament in Osaka:
Key: M-Maegashira, K-Komusubi, S-Sekiwake, O-Ozeki, Y-Yokozuna, J-Juryo, Ms-Makushita

Makuuchi (top tier):
Kotoeiho (M17) beat Chiyoshoma (M14)
Nishikifuji (M14) beat Wakanosho (J3)
Mitakeumi (M15) beat Tobizaru (M13)
Asanoyama (M12) beat Fujiryoga (M17)
Kinbozan (M16) beat Shishi (M11)
Asahakuryu (M16) beat Oshoumi (M11)
Gonoyama (M10) beat Asakoryu (M12)
Fujiseiun (M13) beat Roga (M10)
Tamawashi (M9) beat Oshoma (M7)
Hakunofuji (M7) beat Ura (M8)
Ichiyamamoto (M6) beat Tokihayate (M9)
Shodai (M8) beat Kotoshoho (M5)
Wakatakakage (M1) beat Fujinokawa (M2)
Abi (M5) beat Yoshinofuji (M1)
Atamifuji (K) beat Churanoumi (M2)
Kirishima (S) beat Takanosho (M4)
Oho (M3) beat Takayasu (S)
Aonishiki (O) beat Hiradoumi (M3)
Kotozakura (O) beat Daieisho (M4)
Hoshoryu (Y) beat Wakamotoharu (K)
Leader: Kirishima, Gonoyama (9-1)
Of note: But two leaders will be just one soon because tomorrow is Kirishima-Gonoyama. Over the last year the series is 2-1 Kirishima and he has won the last 2. Kotoshoho is still in it at 8-2 despite the loss while Hoshoryu also stays one back at 8-2. The Yokozuna has the fast-fading Takayasu tomorrow who unfortunately is going through one of his sometimes post-strong-start slumps, now on a 1-4 skid with 3 straight losses after a 5-0 start. And he has lost 4 straight to Hoshoryu. Elsewhere Oshoumi is the first non-injury demotion as he fell to 2-8, while Abi has now done enough to protect his top tier spot with 2 wins despite demotion due to absences. Hakunofuji still has a chance to salvage promotion if he wins out. And Wakamotoharu will not perform another miracle to save his Sanyaku rank, today’s loss means (or should mean) demotion.

Juryo:
Hidenoumi (Ms3) beat Nishikigi (J12)
Toshinofuji (J11) beat Tsurugisho (J10)
Kazekeno (J14) beat Tohakuryu (J10)
Tamashoho (J9) beat Shimazuumi (J13)
Hatsuyama (J9) beat Fujitensei (J13)
Kotokuzan (J14) beat Shonannoumi (J8)
Kazuma (J11) beat Kitanowaka (J8)
Dewanoryu (J10) beat Meisei (J7)
Kyokukaiyu (J7) beat Nishinoryu (J4)
Kayo (J3) beat Daiseizan (J6!
Takerufuji (J4) beat Asasuiryu (J2)
Kagayaki (J5) beat Tomokaze (J2)
Ryuden (J1) beat Hitoshi (J6)
Sadanoumi (J1) beat Shirokuma (J5)
Leader: Kazuma (9-1)
Of note: Wakanosho was in the top tier today and lost, meaning Kazuma is now the sole leader. If he can win out and finish 14-1 there is a slight chance of promotion to the top tier but it deprnds on other factors. We also are now seeing promotions & demotions-in addition to the likely retiring Tsurugisho it looks like Shimazuumi is being demoted back down again unless he wins out, while Kotokuzan still must win out to avoid demotion. Kazekeno has saved his spot by clinching promotion today. Any further demotions to Makushita help Enho’s chances of promotion but it depends on other factors too.

Lower tier notes: As expected, no Enho match today. He’ll be the Makushita man in Juryo tomorrow facing Kotokuzan-a win likely will mean Juryo promotion in May. But even with a loss Enho still has a chance if he can finish 5-2. Wakanofuji-Okaryu will determine half of the potential Makushita Championship while the other unbeaten left, Oshoryu, has Nabatame who is a Sandanme man this time but also 5-0. If Oshoryu loses the Wakanofuji-Okaryu winner can be the champion if they win their final match, but it also opens the door to a playoff and unusual 6-1 champion…and if Enho wins in Juryo, he’s got a chance at such a playoff.

UPDATE: Shimazuumi has WITHDRAWN from Juryo. Unknown why yet. That pretty much guarantees demotion back to Makushita as he will now be 2-9. Tohakuryu will get the fusen as a result.

Also from Jonokuchi, the run of perhaps sumo’s most lovable loser continues-with a loss today that makes 39 straight demotions/losing records for Moriurara, now 1-4 and likely to stay in Jonokuchi. He has 4 more chances this year to get his stated goal of one winning record.

Stardom 3/15/2026 Results (Updated x3)

Stardom wrapped up the 2026 Cinderella Tournament today with the Semifinals & Finals.

Today’s event was held at Yoikohama Budokan in Yokohama and can be watched on demand as a PPV on Stardom World. You can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 1857, a full house/near sellout.

Cinderella Tournament Semifinals:
Match 1: Hanan beat Aya Sakura.
Match 2: Rina beat Miyu Amasaki.
This means it’s a big sister-little sister final.

Match 3: Syuri, Saki Kashima, Rina Yamashita & Itsuki Aoki beat Maki Itoh, Rian, Kikyo Furusawa & Kiyoka Kokatsu. Kashima pinned Furusawa.

Match 4: Saya Iida, Bea Priestley, Momo Kohgo, Yuria Hime & Fuwa-chan beat Saori Anou, Yuna Mizumori, Maika, Xena & Anne Kanaya. Iida pinned Kanaya after a lariat.

Match 5: Sareee & Takumi Iroha (Independent/Freelancer) beat Suzu Suzuki & Akira Kurogame. Sareee pinned Kurogame.

Match 6: Ranna Yagami beat Future Of Stardom Champion HANAKO to win the title. Yagami becomes the 14th Future Of Stardom Champion. I’m high on Yagami’s future in the promotion, but still…UPSET ALERT!!!

Match 7: Starlight Kid, AZM, Mei Seira & Tabata (CMLL) beat Ami Sohrei, Lady C, Tomoka Inaba & Hina and Natsuko Tora, Ruaka, Azusa Inaba & Fukigen in a 3-way when AZM pinned Tora.

Match 8: India Sioux beat CMLL Japan Women’s Champion Hazuki to win the title. Sioux becomes the 8th CMLL Japan Women’s Champion.

Match 9: Cinderella Tournament Finals: Hanan beat Rina to win the tournament. It’s the second time Hanan wins the tournament and the Cinderella gown & tiara, having previously won in 2024. One of the favorites to win did so in her recent return from injury, makes sense as Hanan is clearly the future of Stardom on the face side.

Main Event: Natsupoi & Sayaka Kurara beat Saya Kamitani & Konami. Kurara pinned Kamitani after Violet Screwdriver. They just can’t let go of Tam Nakano and are desperate to put Kurara over Kamitani. Ugh…

The next event is NEW BLOOD 30 on 3/25 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo. Live streaming FOR FREE on YouTube will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

UPDATE: For winning the tournament, Hanan gets a title shot of her choice and she has already made her choice…the Wonder Of Stardom Championship held by Konami. Date TBA. Also, Kurara has earned another World Of Stardom Championship match against Kamitani on 4/26. But there’s a catch-if Kurara loses, Cosmic Angels must disband.

UPDATE 2 Also announced for 4/26 is Hanan-Konami and Saori Anou vs. Fuwa-chan.

UPDATE 3: Yagami has named her first Future Challenger…Sakura. That match will happen on 3/25 at NEW BLOOD 30…however, there’s a big catch…that is the last day Sakura is eligible for the title because a wrestler must be 20 or younger or have less than 3 years experience. The latter requirement, which she still meets, ends that day as it will be the 3rd anniversary of her debut. So if Sakura wins the title she must vacate it immediately although she still meets the age requirement until September (she is 19). And as luck would have it…if HANAKO has retained the title she would have had to vacate it on this date too because 3/25 is also the 3rd anniversary of her debut. Yagami has 9 months before she gets there.
