GLEAT’s annual year-end blowout event, GLEAT Ver. 14, was held yesterday in Tokyo.

Yesterday’s event was held at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on YouTube…but for now it’s paywalled. They launched a new membership on the channel which will have the live and on demand broadcasts for now (whether or not they go un-paywalled at some point is not yet known). Membership is $8.99/month and will include other perks. All prior events that have been uploaded before this are still available on demand on the channel for free.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced. (1/4/25 UDPATE: The announced paid attendance was 1045)

Match 4: Lidet UWF Single Bout: Minoru Tanaka beat Yu Iizuka.

The next event is GLEAT Ver. 15 on 1/11 at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Tokyo. Broadcast plans TBA, if live on YouTube expect it to be paywalled.

Injury Report: Wrong Konami Code

Maybe UUDDLRLRBASS doesn’t have the same effect as when it gave you 30 lives…At Stardom’s PPV Sunday a match between Syuri & Konami went to a DQ win for Syuri in just 33 seconds when H.A.T.E. interfered. And maybe we now know why…Konami was injured in the match. Undisclosed/unspecified. Out indefinitely and will miss the next event on 1/3. She was not yet announced for the event and is not in the final lineup. It’s not yet known how long she may be out, with the next event after Friday set for 1/11.

More as it becomes available.

All-Japan Pro Wrestling 12/31/24 LIVE Results (Updated)

All-Japan wraps up 2024 today with their year-end New Year’s Eve major event in Tokyo. It’s more of a celebratory/variety event to wrap up their 50th Anniversary year but there also are 2 title matches plus the return of Atsuki Aoyagi from a long absence due to injury. In the first title match, All-Asia Tag Team Champions Rising Hayato & Yuma Anzai defend the titles against Kento Miyahara & Ryo Inoue, while in the main event Davey Boy Smith Jr. makes his first defense of the Triple Crown against Jun Saito, who looks to cap quite a year for the Saitos, as despite Rei Saito missing time due to injury which forced them to vacate the tag team titles they held at the time it’s clear Jun & Rei Saito are the team to beat in All-Japan, and maybe all of Japan, as long as they stay healthy. Forget they didn’t debut until their mid-30s in 2023, the former sumo wrestlers clearly have become THE TEAM.

There was one late change made to the card after the final announcements: The planned 10-man battle royal is now an 11-man battle royal with the “emergency addition” of Ultimo Dragon to the match.

Today’s event will be held at Yoyogi National Stadium Gym 2 in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on AJPW.TV in Japanese. This will also be a live Samurai! TV broadcast in Japan. There will be an intermission just past the halfway point so the event will run a little longer than anticipated-I’m hoping not too long because I’m staying up later than usual to do this as I have to physically go to work early tomorrow so I’m hoping it doesn’t run as long as I predict it will go, which is about 3 hours (also may be affected by this being an early afternoon weekday event in Japan).

Today’s lineup:
MUSASHI, Seiki Yoshioka & Taishin Nagao vs. Yuko Miyamoto, Seigo Tachibana & Fuminori Abe
11 Man Battle Royal. Staggered entry (every minute after the first 2), eliminations by pinfall, submission, KO and over the top rope. Participants: Suwama, Hideki Suzuki, Hikaru Sato, Shotaro Ashino, Kumaarashi, Aizawa No. 1, Hartley Jackson, Kunagoro Hokkai, Kuroshio TOKYO Japan, Minoru Suzuki, Ultimo Dragon
Dan Tamura vs. Daisuke Sekimoto
Rei Saito, Naruki Doi & Senor Saito vs. Hokuto Omori, Cyrus & Jack Kennedy
Intermission
Atsuki Aoyagi Return Match: Yuma & Atsuki Aoyagi vs. Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe
All-Asia Tag Team Champions Rising Hayato & Yuma Anzai vs. Kento Miyahara & Ryo Inoue for the titles
All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Jun Saito for the Triple Crown

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 9 PM PT/midnight ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 10 minutes prior to the event and go to the venue 1 minute before the event.

8:50 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has started. We should be going to the venue in 10 minutes.

9 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Yoyogi National Stadium Gym 2 in Tokyo, Japan. Audio is muted when we begin.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Advance ticket sales were good and most if not all the lower level seats are sold out, upper level is a mixed bag. I think the full capacity for wrestling is around 3500, my initial prediction will be around 2500. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 2503. Nailed it!)

The matches should begin in a few minutes after the opening video. Commentary will also join at that point.

The matches begin at 9:06 PM PT/12:06 AM ET. Your hosts are an unannounced commentator (didn’t hear his name) and Kagehiro Osano.

Match 1: MUSASHI, Seiki Yoshioka & Taishin Nagao vs. Yuko Miyamoto (666), Seigo Tachibana & Fuminori Abe. 30 minute time limit
Result: Yuko Miyamoto, Seigo Tachibana & Fuminori Abe beat MUSASHI, Seiki Yoshioka & Taishin Nagao. Abe beat Nagao.

MUSASHI is now a guest on commentary.

Match 2: 11 Man Battle Royal. Staggered entry (every minute after the first 2), eliminations by pinfall, submission, KO and over the top rope. Participants: Suwama, Hideki Suzuki, Hikaru Sato, Shotaro Ashino, Kumaarashi, Aizawa No. 1, Hartley Jackson, Kunagoro Hokkai, Kuroshio TOKYO Japan, Minoru Suzuki, Ultimo Dragon. No time limit
Order of entry: Suwama, Hideki Suzuki, Hikaru Sato, Shotaro Ashino, Aizawa No. 1, Kumaarashi, Hartley Jackson, Kumagoro Hokkai, Kuroshio TOKYO Japan (the match may be over before he ever gets done with his entrance!), Minoru Suzuki, Ultimo Dragon.
Order of elimination: Aizawa by Dragon (pinfall), Dragon by everyone (pinfall), Jackson by everyone (over the top rope), Hokkai by everyone (pinfall), Ashino & Kumaarashi by everyone (pinfall), Kuroshio by everyone (submission), Sato by Minoru Suzuki (submission), Hideki Suzuki by Minoru Suzuki (pinfall), Minoru Suzuki by Suwama (over the top rope).
Result: Suwama won. Suzuki grabbed a nearby guardrail and took his frustration out on Taishin Nagao afterwards.

Match 3: Dan Tamura vs. Daisuke Sekimoto (Big Japan). 30 minute time limit
Result: Daisuke Sekimoto beat Dan Tamura

After the entrances for the next match, Kumaarashi joins commentary.

Match 4: Rei Saito, Naruki Doi & Senor Saito vs. Hokuto Omori, Cyrus & Jack Kennedy. 30 minute time limit
Reslut: Hokuto Omori, Cyrus & Jack Kennedy beat Rei Saito, Naruki Doi & Senor Saito. Omori pinned Senor Saito after a frog splash. However, based on apparent fan support which apparently made this like an Open The Owarai Gate Championship match in Dragon Gate, where fan support determines the real winners, the Saitos & Doi were declared the winners.

Intermission. A moment after it begins we go to backstage comments from the Saitos & Doi after the last match. This is then followed by Omori Army backstage comments.

The matches resume at 10:45 PM PT/1:45 AM ET.

Match 5: Atsuki Aoyagi Return Match: Yuma & Atsuki Aoyagi vs. Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe. 30 minute time limit
Result: Ryuki Honda & Ren Ayabe beat Yuma & Atsuki Aoyagi. Honda pinned Atsuki Aoyagi after Final Vent.

Match 6: All-Asia Tag Team Champions Rising Hayato & Yuma Anzai vs. Kento Miyahara & Ryo Inoue for the titles. 1 Hour time limit
Result: All-Asia Tag Team Champions Rising Hayato & Yuma Anzai beat Kento Miyahara & Ryo Inoue to retain the titles. Anzai pinned Inoue after Gimlet. V2 for the champs.

Main Event: All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Jun Saito for the Triple Crown. 1 Hour time limit
Result: Jun Saito beat All-Japan Triple Crown Champion Davey Boy Smith Jr. to win the Triple Crown. Jun Saito becomes the 75th All-Japan Triple Crown Champion. UPSET ALERT!!! What an end to 2024. The Saitos are now in almost total control of All-Japan, although maybe not for long as they do have an All-Japan World Tag Team Championship defense later this week. But until then…DOOM!!!

The next event, the first of 2025, is Thursday at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on AJPW.TV will begin Wednesday at 6:30 PM PT/9:30 PM ET.

UPDATE: There was an Actress Girls segment and match held before AJPW.TV went live…
Pre-show match: Marino Saihara & Natsuki beat Akuto & Riko Fukunaga. Natsuki pinned Fukunaga after Midnight Sun.

Also, at Thursday’s event new trainees/wrestlers will be introduced to the crowd.
Friday’s event at Korakuen (Thursday at 6:30 PM PT/9:30 PM ET, also live on AJPW.TV) will also be a Samurai! TV broadcast in Japan.

Stardom 12/29/24 Results (Updated x2)

STARDOM DREAM QUEENDOM 2024, the promotion’s year-end blowout event, took place earlier today. Below are quick results I found since the promotion is always slow to post results, more details will be added later.

Today’s event was held at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo and can be watched on demand as a PPV on Stardom World in Japanese & English for around $30 US. Ami Sohrei was a guest on Japanese commentary while Xena was a guest on English commentary. It will be available to all monthly subscribers on or after 1/11/25. You can also watch the pre-show and the first PPV match FOR FREE on YouTube.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced. Based on advance ticket sales I think they’ll do a bit better than DDT did yesterday there with a reduced capacity setup, which was 3579 (near sellout). 4500-5000 sounds possible. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 4023, a legit sellout)

Pre-show:
Match 1: Yuna Mizumori & Aya Sakura beat ChiCHI (Evolution) & Matoi Hamabe. Mizumori pinned Hamabe.
Match 2: Ranna Yagami vs. Sayaka Kurara went to a 15 minute time limit draw.

PPV:
Match 1: Hanan & Saya Iida beat Goddesses Of Stardom Champions Momo Watanabe & Thekla to win the titles. Hanan & Iida become the 35th Goddesses Of Stardom Champions. Hanan pinned Thekla with a backdrop hold. Probably the most slam-dunk result given how much trouble Thekla has caused lately and Watanabe seems in line for a singles push again. Nonetheless, it caps off the true breakout 2024 for Hanan and cements her as THE future of Stardom. She should be singles champion soon and many times over to come.

Match 2; Mina Shirakawa, Waka Tsukiyama, HANAKO & Rian beat Saki Kashima, Tomoka Inaba, Lady C & Hina and Rina, Azusa Inaba, Ruaka & Fukigen in a 3-way when Shirakawa pinned Fukigen.

Match 3: AZM, Mei Seira, Suzu Suzuki & Miyu Amasaki beat Mayu Iwatani, Momo Kohgo, Hazuki & Koguma. AZM pinned Kohgo after Azumi Sushi.

Match 4: Saori Anou beat Mika Iwata (Sendai Girls).

Match 5: Syuri beat Konami by DQ in 33 seconds. H.A.T.E. interference. Former GLEAT wrestler Maya Fukuda then appeared and made the save, seemingly aligning with Syuri and hinting at joining Stardom in 2025.

Match 6: In a No DQ Match. Natsuko Tora beat Maika.

Match 7: Starlight Kid beat Wonder Of Stardom Champion Natsupoi to win the title. Kid becomes the 24th Wonder Of Stardom Champion. At last, you could say.

Main Event: Saya Kamitani beat World Of Stardom Champion Tam Nakano to win the title. Kamitani becomes the 20th World Of Stardom Champion. And righted the wrongs that was the 5STAR GP and fallout. Nakano never should have gotten a title shot after starting 0-3 and going winless then winning the title from Tora, even with the logical explanation she only lost the title at the end of December 2023 due to having to vacate it (injury). This result, like it or not, saved Stardom’s 2024 to me. Tam Road has ended and the queen is dead. Long Live The Phenex Queen! As for Nakano, now she has to deal with the returning Sayaka Unagi.

The next event is STARDOM NEW YEAR DREAM 2025 Friday at Tokyo Garden Theater in Tokyo. Broadcast plans TBA but the current lineup which includes 3 potential pre-show matches suggests it could be, albeit on very late notice, another PPV. If there is a live broadcast on Stardm World, PPV or not, it should begin Thursday at 11 PM PT/2 AM ET.

UPDATE: PPV again Friday on Stardom World. 4400 yen/around $30 US. Non-PPV version available on or after 1/11 (may now be 4680 yen). It will be available in Japanese and English with Ami Sohrei & Xena as guests again on the Japanese & English versions, respectively.

UPDATE 2: After this event, Hazuki & Koguma went to the OZ Academy year-event at Korakuen Hall and beat Ryo Mizunami & Sonoko Kato to win the OZ Academy Tag Team Championship. Hazuki & Koguma become the 40th Champions. Next defense upcoming likely is against Mizunami & Cohaku.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 12/29/24 Results (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro wrapped up their 2024 today with their year-end “TJPW Year-End Party 2024” event, which primarily was about special matches focusing on fun and ending the year on a high note.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese.

The announced paid attendance was 720.

During the opening announcements, events for 3/39 & 3/30 were announced to coincide with Yuki Arai’s final performances as a member of SKE48 (now that she’s past age 25 apparently she’s too old for the group and has outgrown them so it’s time to move on). 3/30 may feature an SKE48 performance. Arai’s last day with the group will be 3/31, after that she will continue her wrestling career with TJPW which I am happy about.

Match 1: Ivy Steele beat Chika Nanase.

Match 2: What was a 5-on-5 elimination match series with 2 count falls & 5 minute time limits went like this (if time limit draws happened, matches continued with no time limits and 1 count falls):
1-Shoko Nakajima beat Yoshiko Hasegawa.
2-Nakajima beat Uta Takami.
3-Shino Suzuki beat Nakajima.
4-Suzuki beat Toga.
5-Moka Miyamoto beat Suzuki.
6-Miyamoto vs. Suzume went to a time limit draw. Which led to…
Continuation-Suzume beat Miyamoto.
7-Suzume vs. Arisu Endo went to a time limit draw. Which led to…
Continuation-Endo beat Suzume.
8-Mizuki beat Arisu Endo.
Final-Mizuki vs. Haru Kazashiro went to a time limit drae. Which led to…
Continuation-Mizuki beat Haru Kazashiro.
Mizuki/Suzume/Suzuki/Takami/Hasegawa win and receive sponsor prizes consisting of a gift card and fresh meat.

Match 3: SETUP Pro Wrestling All-Asia Women’s Champion Pom Harajuku beat Matcha to retain the title. V1 for Harajuku.

Match 4: Queen Of Asia & VPW Women’s Champion Yuki Kamifuku beat Lei Ying Lee (fka Xia Li in WWE) to retain the titles. V5 & V3 for Kamifuku, respectively.

Main Event: Miu Watanabe won a 20 person battle royal (eliminations by pinfall, submission, over the top rope), last eliminating Yuki Aino. Order of elimination: Yuna Manase, Poison Sawada JULIE, Hyper Misao, Antonio Honda, Miyu Yamashita, Kira Summer, Maki Itoh, HIMAWARI, Pocotan, Mahiro Kiryu, Wakana Uehara, Neko Haruna, Kaya Toribami, Aja Kong, Rika Tatsumi, Ryo Mizunami, Yuki Arai, Raku, Aino. As a result, Watanabe wins various sponsor prizes including 6+ pounds of mochi. It should be noted Aino was the first entrant and lasted a very impressive 37+ minutes. I believe #2 was Tatsumi. Kong & Mizunami were mystery entrants not revealed in advance. Afterwards, everyone gathered in the ring for the traditional year-end group photos.

TJPW made continued strides forward in their 11th year in 2024, including a pair of successful returns to the US, and with a US return set for WrestleMania week events in Las Vegas in April, 2025 promises bigger & better. And moat importantly, more Yuki Arai and soon the return of Wasteland Pom Party! (One of their best stories of the year as Harajuku & Max The Impaler became the best odd couple in wrestling and completely won the internet over)

The next event is “Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling ’25”, the annual year-opening blowout event and Tokyo Done morning matinee/appetizer, Saturday. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET.

UPDATE: There has been a change to 1/4: The Shoko Nakajima-Hyper Misao match is now a Lumberjack Deathmatch with Poison Sawada JULIE as special referee. Rules TBA on event day.

Dragon Gate 12/27/24 Results

Dragon Gate wrapped up their 2024 today with the final event of their 25th Anniversary campaign.

Today’s event was held at Kobe Sambo Hall in Kobe and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK.

The announced paid attendance was 651.

Match 1: ISHIN & Yoshiki Kato beat Ryu Fuda & Daiki Yanagiuchi. Kato pinned Yanagiuchi after a sit-down Canadian hammer. ISHIN was a last-minute replacement for an absent Hoki.

Match 2: Don Fujii beat Akihiro Sahara.

Match 3: Ultimo Dragon, Yasushi Kanda, Takashi Yoshida & Syachihoko BOY beat Ho Ho Lun, Ho Li, Richi Tominaga (possibly Punch Tominaga) & Problem Dragon. Yoshida pinned Tominaga after Pineapple Bomber.

Match 4: Masaaki Mochizuki beat ISHIN by DQ.

Match 5: Strong Machine J won a 12 man battle royal, last eliminating Dragon Dia.

Main Event: YAMATO, Susumu Yokosuka, Kagetora & BxB Hulk vs. Shun Skywalker, Kota Minoura, KAI & Jason Lee went to a double countout. Which led to…
Main Event (again): YAMATO, Susumu Yokosuka, Kagetora, BxB Hulk & Naruki Doi beat Shun Skywalker, Kota Minoura, KAI, Jason Lee & ISHIN. YAMATO pinned ISHIN after Gallaria. So yeah, ISHIN wound up wrestling in 3 matches…only one was as planned.

This wraps up Dragon Gate’s 25th Anniversary year. There’s already quite a bit of 2025 news coming out today and just now:
Ho Ho Lun is joining the promotion full-time effective in January. He had been making occasional appearances as a freelancer. He is based in Hong Kong.
The next challenge for YAMATO’s Open The Dream Gate Championship has been announced: Strong Machine J. That match will happen at THE GATE OF BAYSIDE 2025 on 1/25 at Yokohama Budokan in Yokohama. At this time it will not be for the Open The Brave Gate Championship also held by YAMATO.

The next event, their 2025 opener, is 1/9 at Kobe Art Center in Kobe to kick off the Open The New Year Gate 2025 Tour. Broadcast plans TBA. The DRAGONGATE NETWORK January schedule hasn’t been announced yet (only for February).

DDT Pro Wrestling “Ultimate Party 2024” LIVE Results (12/28/2024) (Updated x2)

DDT wraps up 2024 with their year-end blowout event today, Ultimate Party 2024. It certainly will be just that as outside of their annual 5 Hour Anniversary Event and WRESTLE PETER PAN it will be their next-biggest event on the schedule in terms of match quantity and quality with 11 matches in all scheduled. The main event will be Chris Brookes defending the KO-D Openweight Championship against Daisuke Sasaki. The Damnation TA leader got the better of Brookes in early tag matches but the champ took the rubber match in the final face-off, but now that all means nothing as we find out who will end 2024 with the top title. Before that, new KO-D Tag Team Champions will be crowned as MAO & To-y face Tetsuya Endo & Yuya Koroku for the titles, culminating a headed rivalry that’s developed between the young To-y & Koroku lately. Elsewhere, Tokyo Joshi Pro participation is set for a crossover match against DDT thanks to Super Sasadango Machine visiting TJPW recently, and two new music entertainment athletes will make their pro wrestling debuts today and so much more, including Pro Wrestling NOAH participation as Kenoh has been Kenoh lately and will be here to take down “fake wrestling” DDT in his words.

There was a late change to the card yesterday as the scheduled DDT Extreme Championship match between Danshoku Dieno & Great-O-Khan in an unofficial match is now off due to Khan injuries suffered in New Japan Sunday. Invisible Man is the replacement and it will now be a NON-TITLE match…although it would have originally been anyway as said original match would not have been recognized by DDT, even if a title change happened.

Today’s event will be held at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. Voice actors Tetsu Inada, Kentaro Kumagai and Kyoka Moriya will be guests on Japanese commentary. Additionally, as an experiment of a new feature, fans attending the event can use their smartphones to listen to the live commentary on WRESTLE UNIVERSE while watching the event. The event will also feature musical performances by NwA Jr. (made up of DDT wrestlers) and O-MENZ (before Kumadori debuts as a wrestler). Between the 11 matches and other stuff, plus no intermission, this is going to indeed be one of their longest events of the year and for those in the US will be a likely all-nighter with a total running time of close to 5 hours, maybe not that much but a minimum of 4 hours. I may or may not make it through so anything I miss will be added tomorrow morning,

Today’s lineup:
NwA Jr. debut song performance (they just released a CD in Japan)
Demus & Illusion vs. Yuni & Kazuma Sumi
Shuji Ishikawa, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Shinichiro Kawamatsu vs. Masa Takanashi, Daichi Sato & Yuki Ishida
O-MENZ Kumadori Debut Match: Kazuki Hirata & Kumadori vs. Makoto Oishi & Akito
Rika Tatsumi, Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku (Tokyo Joshi Pro) vs. Super Sasadango Machine, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda
Haruto Sakuraba Debut Match: Haruto Sakuraba, MJ Paul & KANON vs. HARASHIMA, Yuki Iino & Takao Soma
Jun Akiyama vs. Yukio Naya
Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura vs. Kenoh & Yu Owada (Pro Wrestling NOAH)
Danshoku DIeno vs. Invisible Man. Kentaro Kumagai & Tetsu Inada will be at ringside
Yuki Ueno vs. Takeshi Masada
MAO & To-y vs. Tetsuya Endo & Yuya Koroku for the KO-D Tag Team Championship
KO-D Openweight Champion Chris Brookes vs. Daisuke Sasaki for the title

Refresh this page occasionally for the latest results.

Updates below will begin at 9 PM PT/midnight ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 30 minutes prior to the event.

UPDATE (Pre-show): Kentaro Kumagai will not appear as scheduled. The always-vague poor health.

8:30 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. We should be going to the venue in about 15-20 minutes.

8:52 PM PT UPDATE; Live updates begin now, we join a couple minutes late…

We are LIVE from Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan. Your hosts are Haruo Murata (joining later), Satoshi Dairaku, Kagehiro Osano, Kyoka Mariya, and Tetsu Inada was supposed to be on commentary but appears to have been replaced at least for now by Marika Tani. Your English hosts are Baliyan Akki, Christelle Ciari & Ash Mann. Dairaku may be taking over late again if the event runs long as Murata has to be at Korakuen Hall by 1:30 AM PT/4:30 AM ET for a Tokyo Joshi Pro live broadcast on WRESTLE UNIVERSE (same for Akki on the English side).

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s not full capacity setup as they’re using the lower level box seats at 33-50% capacity (2 per box instead of the 4-6 for sumo) and also 1/4 of the venue is blocked off for the setup, so that means full capacity would probably be maybe 6000. What I can see in the lower level appears to be mostly full, most of what was left today was upper level seating. It looks like it’ll be a good number, my initial guess will be a minimum of 4000. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 3579, a full house/near sellout)

GM Imabayashi begins with the opening announcements.

NwA Jr.-Shunma Katsumata, Yuni, Kazuma Sumi-come out to perform a song from their debut CD just released. Fun little number, will be fun to see if they can give Up Up Girls a run for their money. They do the opening shout to lead into the opening movie. DDT has also announced the album, consisting of 2 songs, will be available for download/streaming, at least in Japan, beginning tomorrow at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET.

The matches begin at 9:13 PM PT/12:13 AM ET. Tetsu Inada joins commentary before the first match begins. So Marika Tani presumably is a replacement for Kentaro Kumagai, which I won’t complain about.

Match 1: Demus & Illusion vs. Yuni & Kazuma Sumi (with bonus NwA Jr. performance). 30 minute time limit
Result: Yuni & Kazuma Sumi beat Demus & Illusion. Sumi pinned Demus. UPSET ALERT!!!

Match 2: Shuji Ishikawa, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Shinichiro Kawamatsu vs. Masa Takanashi, Daichi Sato (HEAT UP) & Yuki Ishida. 30 minute time limit
Result: Shuji Ishikawa, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Shinichiro Kawamatsu beat Masa Takanashi, Daichi Sato & Yuki Ishida. Ishikawa pinned Ishida after Fire Thunder.

Match 3: O-MENZ Kumadori Debut Match: Kazuki Hirata & Kumadori (with O-MENZ performance as part of his entrance) vs. Makoto Oishi (Independent/Freelancer) & Akito. 30 minute time limit. O-MENZ can be described as a Japanese take on the iconic Jabbawockeez music/dance group as the performers wear Kabuki-style masks.
Result: Akito & Makoto Oishi beat Kazuki Hirata & Kumadori almost instantly. Akito pinned Hirata. Afterwards, Kumadori with microphone. Promo which sounded slightly muffled due to his headgear. Which led to…
Match 3 (again): O-MENZ Kumadori Debut Match: Kazuki Hirata & Kumadori vs. Makoto Oishi (Independent/Freelancer) & Akito. 30 minute time limit
Result: Kazuki Hirata & Kumadori beat Makoto Oishi & Akito. Both pinned Oishi after a Kumadori twisting legdrop off the top rope. Comedy match with O-MENZ joining in the post-match victory dance to HIrata’s music. Impressive debut nonetheless.

Your new host is Haruo Murata, taking over for Satoshi Dairaku for now.

The DDT team for the next match gets a pep talk from GM Imabayashi until the TJPW squad shows up and Pom Harajuku lays them all out. Taped a few minutes ago. Which led to…
Match 4: Rika Tatsumi, Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku (Tokyo Joshi Pro) vs. Super Sasadango Machine, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda. 30 minute time limit. Representative Tetsuya Koda is seconding the TJPW team.
Result: Rika Tatsumi, Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku beat Super Sasadango Machine, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda. Tatsumi pinned Honda after a slow-motion assisted Missile Hip. At one point in the match Koda & GM Imabayashi had a comedy face-off/going at it in the ring. DDT comedy at its finest.

Match 5: Haruto Sakuraba Debut Match: Haruto Sakuraba, MJ Paul & KANON vs. HARASHIMA, Yuki Iino & Takao Soma. 30 minute time limit. It appears HARASHIMA is the current DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion so title changes are possible
Result: Haruto Sakuraba, MJ Paul & KANON beat HARASHIMA, Yuki Iino & Takao Soma. KANON pinned Soma after Michinoku Driver.

Match 6: Jun Akiyama vs. Yukio Naya. 30 minute time limit
Result: Jun Akiyama beat Yukio Naya by submission

Match 7: Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura vs. Kenoh & Yu Owada (Pro Wrestling NOAH). 30 minute time limit
Result: Kenoh & Yu Owada beat Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura. Kenoh beat Nakamura with Kenoh Special. Kenoh & Aoki brawled all over the lower level of the Kokugikan throughout this match.

Quick break to clean up all the carnage in the front rows. Japanese commentary has some fun to entertain the fans.

Match 8: Danshoku Dieno (with Tetsu Inada) vs. Invisible Man (Toumei Ningen). 30 minute time limit
Result: Invisible Man beat Danshoku Dieno. This essentially was Dieno having a match by himself with Haruo Murata’s running commentary on the speakers for fans to follow along and more. More DDT comedy at its finest.

Satoshi Dairaku is your host once again, probably the rest of the way.

Match 9: Yuki Ueno (with new entrance music) vs. Takeshi Masada. 30 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Ueno beat Takeshi Masada

Match 10: MAO & To-y vs. Tetsuya Endo & Yuya Koroku for the vacant KO-D Tag Team Championship. 1 Hour time limit

Stardom 12/26/24 Results

Stardom ran the final NEW BLOOD event of the year today, the 17th installment of their showcase series for younger & less-experienced wrestlers.

Today’s event was held at New Sun Pier Takeshiba in Tokyo and can be watched on demand FOR FREE on YouTube. You can watch the entire event below (the matches begin at the 11 minute mark):

The paid attendance has not yet been announced. It’s a small venue and wasn’t full capacity but from what I can see at the start it looks like between 150-200. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 215)

Match 1: Cohaku (Sendai Girls) beat Matoi Hamabe.

Match 2: Tomoka Inaba, Hina & Ranna Yagami beat Himiko, Mitsuki Kato & Yuma Makoto (Diana). Hina pinned Makoto.

Match 3: Yuna Mizumori & Tam Nakano beat Sumika Yanagawa & Misa Kami (JTO). Nakano beat Yanagawa.

Match 4: Honoka (WAVE) beat Rian.

Intermission.

Match 5: Saori Anou, Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara beat ZONES, ChiChi & Sai (Evolution). Sakura pinned ChiChi after a spinning right head kick.

Main Event: Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO beat New Blood Tag Team Champions Rina & Azusa Inaba to win the titles. Tsukiyama & HANAKO become the 4th New Blood Tag Team Champions. HANAKO pinned Rina after JP Coaster. Well, that’s one title record Rina won’t take away from big sister Hanan (she eclipsed Hanan’s Future Of Stardom Championship records before losing to Miyu Amasaki a couple months ago, which Stardom promptly cranked out special merchandise to profit off of). Afterwards, the new champs brought all the event’s participants out, including keeping reluctant Rina & Inaba in the ring, for the year-end group photo ops to end the show.

The next event is STARDOM GRAND QUEENDOM 2024, the year-end blowout event, Sunday at Ryogoku Kokugikan. Live streaming as a PPV on Stardom World for 4400 Japanese yen (about $30 US) will begin at midnight PT/3 AM ET. PPV purchase includes unlimited replays until the morning of 1/10/25. It will be available on demand on Stardom World for all monthly paying subscribers on or after 1/11/25. You will also be able to watch the first match FOR FREE on YouTube.

In other news, the 1/3/25 year-opening event will also be a PPV, and it was announced that All Elite Wrestling’s Tay Melo (formerly Tay Conti) will return after a year-plus absence at this event. Melo has been away since she had her first child with her husband, AEW wrestler Sammy Guevara, in November 2023. She had recently been training to prepare for her return, but it not happening in AEW is quite a surprise.

Injury Report: Ultimate Party Pooper

DDT and New Japan have announced a late change to Saturday’s Ultimate Party 2024 event…it’s a bit of a bummer because Great-O-Khan is now off. Lower back and hip/side injuries suffered at Sunday’s New Japan event. He was to have faced DDT Extreme Champion Danshoku Dieno in an unofficial title match, where the result and potential title change would not be recognized. Invisible Man is the replacement and it’s now a NON-TITLE match. No word yet on Khan’s status for Tokyo Dome.

More as it becomes available.
